Reykjavik, Thorsgata 26, Midborg, 101 Reykyavik, Stolichnaya oblast, Islandiya (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Convenient location with free parking. It's a short walk to the city center and great for chasing the Northern Lights by the sea. Breakfast was just okay. The hygiene was good.
Great location, very clean hotel, and you can even see the cathedral from your room. It's within walking distance to Rainbow Street, the Phallus Museum, the Concert Hall, and Little Elephant Supermarket. Plus, free parking!
Solo trip. The location is excellent. It's about a 15-minute walk from the airport shuttle bus terminal, or you can arrange a drop-off. For day trips, the bus stop is #8. The room faces the church and has a kitchen. However, rooms facing the church also face the cemetery behind it. Of course, this is quite common abroad. Just tell yourself it's good for promotion and wealth. The hot spring water has...
Highly recommended, a perfect score! The location is right next to the cathedral, and bus stop 8 is just a 3-minute walk away, making it ideal for day trips. It's very clean; even though it has shared bathrooms, they are spotless. You can see the cathedral right outside the window!
I didn't have high hopes for this hotel, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The location is fantastic; the church is right outside the door, and I was so excited to be staying so close to it when I first arrived. There's free parking available at the entrance, but it's first-come, first-served. I stayed for two nights, and even though the bathrooms are shared, everyone kept them very clean...
The location is amazing, the room windows looked directly at the Hallgrímskirkja church! The room is small but comfortable, the bathroom is clean. The staff is very friendly.

It was a good experience in Iceland however there’s very less amenities which is only beds toilet in the room and even there’s no microwave in the hotel.
The bed in the room was too soft, and I woke up with a backache. Also, the customer service was too slow to respond, and the room was completely empty.
It’s a very good location with decent price. The postcards are the cheapest I can find in the city. You’ll have access to nice food place from there.
Very convenient location just opposite bus stop no.9.
Jack at the front is very nice. The room is simple, but very nice people and yes, it was clean. Great price,Great location, and we will share to come back. Mr. Canada 🇨🇦
As location is in City, parking is an issue and extra cost. Shared showers were a mixture of standards. Kitchen was not regularly cleaned.

Perfect place to spend a night or two as good location and comes with kitchen and laundry facilities. However check in can be a nightmare if your booking platform does not update you with check in instructions
The location was fantastic. Check in was easy. Staff seemed to come in regularly and take out the trash and tiddy up the bathrooms. The couch for the third person to sleep on was awful. There was a lot of mold in the shower and the drain didn’t work well. You had to continually shut the water off during your shower so it didn’t flood the bathroom. Staff was notified and they were able to have maintenance...
The room trash was not emptied and there was no indication where you could take it yourself. The humidity was quite high. The traffic noise was reasonably loud.
Great central location and value. You will share a bathroom so make sure you are ok with that. Having a kitchen available was great. Staff was helpful when I needed to speak to them.
Bathroom/Toilet is not as clean as expected
The rooms are clean for a budget hotel but the walls are paper thin. I can hear everytime someone takes a poop and when he goes to the shower or uses the tap. There is only 1 bathroom at every floor with the sink, toilet and shower in the same room so it cannot be used concurrently. This means we have to wait >30mins for each person to poop, then shower etc. You can only imagine what it is like on...

Excellent location, a couple of minutes walk from town. The rooms are clean and have everything that we needed. There's tea, coffee and a little carton of milk. It's warm and cosy, the bathrooms are clean, with underfloor heating. Kitchen is very well equipped. We are having a very enjoyable trip, thank you. Highly recommend 👌
Very cosy and comfy place in Reykjavik. We stayed here for 2 nights. Self check-in was very easy. The kitchen is well equipped and rooms is very comfy. The location is close to the city Center so you can go walking to all the places like the church, rainbow street. The place is very quiet as well.
Decent guesthouse at convenient location (10 mins walk from city center). Overall the whole building is very well maintained and clean. The kitchen is quite small for the amount of people that can stay here, but otherwise very well equipped. There are plenty of showers and toilets, all in great shape! Our room was super small, no place whatsoever to put our bags. Very inconvenient if you stay longer...
Staying at REFURINN Guesthouse was a wonderful experience. Owner Jay was very helpful. Property was very clean. Great locations to shopping and dining.
Great location and great staff
Near city center, has free car park and few minutes walk away provided you can find an available one. Room is clean, 3 toilets with 2 showers, upstairs 1 toilet with shower. Quite a few rooms sharing the amenities. Full kitchen though a bit small.

Even though the room was small, it was cozy and comfortable. The showroom was a bit old, but other than that, a very good value for money and the breakfast was amazing!!  Thank you very much. We’d love to stay again.
Excellent pancakes! Incredibly delicious breakfast.
This place made our trip to Iceland perfect. The host is a gentle and introverted man, but you can feel his passion for hospitality in the way he welcomes you. He truly did his best to make us feel at home. The breakfast was a highlight, particularly the pancakes which were amazing. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
Lovely place full of an old fashioned Icelandic charm. The one thing I have against it is the red ants. They were in the room and breakfast area. They bite too!
Wonderful, helpful, delicious breakfast-comfortable bed- very happy and would stay there again—I lost my key to my suitcase and the host got tools to help me break my lock! Such relief!
Nice place to stay, friendly owners, good breakfast, wel located not too far from the center and close to the BSI bus station.

Close to the BSI main bus station (airport bus drop off) about 10-15min walk. Self check-in is possible if you arrive late in the evening. You will be given the passcodes for entrance to the building and also to the rooms. You just have to contact them. As for my room, I stayed in a single bed. It is small but all good. It has its own sink which is pretty useful for doing skin care. It also has cabinet...
Excellent location. Very near the BSI bus terminal. Getting around the city is easy on foot or by bus.
I think it's great for groups of friends traveling together. For couples, the room might be a bit basic, but the kitchen and laundry facilities are really convenient, making it perfect for a more budget-friendly trip.
1st night in Reykjavík, our room located at after entrance need to go down one floor with twist type staircase which is so torturing for us, due to 3 of us with three 28cm suitcase and also our hand carry bag. This hotel offers decent value for money in Iceland. The elderly gentleman at the reception provided excellent service. Although the bathrooms are shared, they were very clean. We enjoyed your stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. The parking available is free street parking, we went in late February 2026 and had no issue with finding a park close by. Rooms were quiet and safe. Good heating and a large bathroom. On our first night we had issues with the shower water not draining, we emailed and they had it fixed within hours. Although this wasn't communicated to us which was disappointing...
Very nice guesthouse situated in a quiet area, yet close to central city. Owners contacted us before arrival to instruct about access to our room. When leaving, my daughter forgot her gloves and hat in the room. The owner contacted us and arranged sending the items to Sweden. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. It was very clean with great amenities and a spacious bathroom. The hosts are also very kindhearted and let us keep our luggage there post check out while we went on a day trip. Thorey and her husband go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and special.
This suited us perfectly for a three night stay. The building looks great from the outside. The room was a little quirky but clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and if you like a cheeky afternoon nap (like me) the sofa is also comfortable. Easy to check in and out. No hassle or fuss.
Our family stayed in a 3-bed apartment and it was absolutely perfect for us. Could not have asked for better setup for our group. Such a cozy spot! Very clean, comfy beds. Host was very quick to respond to email. Loved the shared living space, fast wifi. Kitchen had everything we needed and more! A short walk down town, would definitely recommend.
Very cosy place. They have warm rooms all the time. Big comfort kitchen and a lobby with a lovely cat. The location is perfect for short walks to the center. They have always warm coffee for the guests. The rooms are clean and the shared bathroom is clean with warm water all the time. I would definitely recommend it and i will come back to this next time.
Located just a short walk from the Cathedral, the Baldursbra guesthouse is ideal for the budget traveller, the rooms a quite big, and the room we had a small sink and mirror for brushing you teeth before bed or doing makeup. The staff were really friendly, the rooms were spotless, I couldn't have asked for more.

Very cosy place, a bit small, so I would only recommend it if you're planning to only sleep there. Got a nice gift when I entered my room. The location is a bit hidden in between buildings, but you will get a mail with good directions before you are able to check in. Very friendly owner, and she will contact you if needed. Basically wouldn't expect more for this generous price
The hotel had poor soundproofing and no front desk, so those who don't speak English well should probably think twice before choosing it. The owner was very nice and let me check in early. It's very close to the church. After taking the airport bus to the last stop, it's about a kilometer away. I took a taxi, which cost 90 RMB.
Our room was 102. King bed. Very clean. Shared bathroom, but not a problem.
The location is the big plus for this property, however, if you want quiet between 8pm - 11pm, this is not ideal without ear plugs due to live music at the local bars. The property details do not specifically say it's a shared bathroom/shower so that was a surprise. The property also provided the door code to the wrong door so I was glad I had a working phone and they answered promptly to provide...
Very cute and cozy house in the city centre of Reykjavik. The kitchen is very basic but it had all we needed. Room was spacious and clean. The house is very quiet but you can hear noise from the other rooms on the same floor. There is only one toilet though, so it’s easy to find it occupied in the morning. Very kind host, quick to reply.
Good location, very clean and convenient check-in. The room is small, and since it's an attic, the roof is slanted, so it's easy to hit your head if you're not careful. There is a small open space outside the window with a nice view.

Convenient with nice amenities The room (family triple with private bathroom) was on the lower level and was easily accessible managing some stairs. More like a backpackers hostel than a guest house. Clean but very basic - especially considering the price. Tiny bathroom (no problem for us - but a larger person would not squeeze through the shower door). There is a shared kitchen with a coffee machine which is a plus. Kind customer service on the phone - but no one on site. No place to store luggage after 11am check out time.
We really liked the room size and the private bathroom. Bed was comfortable. We were unable to open the front door using the access code provided to us via email, but it worked for the back door. The drapes in the room should extend over the entire window, but they do not. Overall a very good stay despite some minor issues.

Sleeping was challenging The guesthouse has no control over the music coming from the street (teenagers playing loud music across the street until very late at night) or the bar downstairs, nor can they do anything about the noise of the pipes. While a bit cozy and squeaky in places, this was an affordable space for my family in the heart of Reykjavik - close to everything we wanted to see.
The location is okay, there are several good restaurants nearby, but the overall environment is poor, maybe because the building is old. The heating was not very good and the room was very cold. There is no elevator, so you need to carry your suitcase upstairs. All in all I don't think it's worth it compared to the price of ninety pounds a night.

Centrally located, easy to walk to the centre of town. Despite this, it is remarkably quiet. Clean. Room was very clean and bright. This hostel is located in an older building - the rooms were great, the kitchen and bathrooms need some updating. The bathrooms were a little musty and toilets were coming to the end of their life. Kitchen microwave is old and slow.
Oveall good place for our family of 4 with good beds and ammenities. Sound proofing wasnt great as street noise was quite loud. When i tried to use the stovetop the power went out due to a vlown breaker, forcing me to use the shared kitchen vs the private one in our suite (after i found the breaker box and reset it), so that was inconvenient.
This is a gorgeous little guesthouse in easy walking distance to all the major attractions and sites in Reykjavik. The house is quiet, with a sleek bathroom, neat bedrooms, underfloor heating, and a spacious kitchen/living area. There is a step from the road down to the front door and two biggish steps from the door down to the floor itself but they are not hard to manage (even with a buggy).
We came in late therefore it was easy to receive code for door and easy check in instructions. Very comfortable beds! Thank you!!
