The hotel cancelled our booking 24 hours before check-in which caused us a lot of trouble. We had to change all our trips and transfers last minute I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone. If you are planning renovation why you're getting bookings. Absolutely unprofessional.

Hotel was very close to everything in a great location. Hotel provided an excellent breakfast that was suitable to all tastes. Rooms were a little dated , however they provided everything we needed, will definitely stay here again

I loved this cozy hotel. Access in and out was easy around the clock. Key drop off before reception opens was also easy. I stayed in an room with an en-suite bathroom and double bed, and was sad to leave when the time came. The bed was so comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. The location is fantastic. My daughter accidentally dropped the top of her contact lens case down the sink, and the guy at the reception desk came up immediately to help us get it out. It was fixed within five minutes. The staff here is wonderful. For all the comments about the sulfur smell from the hot water, you’re staying on a nation built from volcanoes whose aquifers are down in that geologic soil. You travel to experience something different. It’s not a big deal. Have stayed in other places when we needed bigger rooms for more people and it was the same there. Part of the adventure. Will definitely stay here again if I’m lucky enough to return to Reykjavik!

We had a pleasant stay, clean rooms and had to share a bathroom but never had to wait to use and didn’t see anyone else. If you are a student/on a budget this is good value for your money. Location is also great— near bus stops for tours and in walking distance of many shops and restaurants.

Pretty bare-bones. My friends and I stayed in two types of rooms. A 3 person, which was not bad, and a 2 twin bed with communal bathroom. The twin bed room had no windows, was tiny, and looked extremely worn down. The ceiling looked damaged, the carpeting in the hallway was not well maintained, and the amenities in the room were also very worn/tattered. it was fine for one night, but no longer. lobby/reception unmanned sometimes, you have to call the Icelandic number to reach the receptionist. one big plus: it had parking. Wouldn’t stay again unless I’m in the 3 person bedroom.

We were 4 in what they call a triple room on their website (scam ?). The TV was not working, half the room was in the dark because of broken lights. Furthermore we had no bedside lamp and only one broken bedback for one of the beds. The room was very noisy, you can hear any car in the street. The curtains do not block the sunlight, very annoying when the sunset is at 4am and the room is surrounded with windows. The double bed was honestly very small.

However the staff is very kind.

You only pay for the location.

Just a bad hotel. We had to postpone our stay because of COVID and add a day onto our stay. When we arrived we were told that they messed up our reservation for the added day. We had to look for a different hotel on the same day at around 10pm. No admission of fault and no accommodations from the hotel at all. They just said that "booking.com changed it".

When we checked in the next day, the check-in took way too long for no reason. Only when we asked when breakfast starts, we were told that there is no breakfast (which we already paid for) "due to COVID" and that we have to accept this compromise since they rescheduled our stay.

So basically the worst service imaginable.

The room itself was bearable; a bit worn and crooked, albeit generally clean. The shower was crawling with rust. Whenever you use water, a very loud pump (I think) turns on. There's a small glass shelf below the mirror that is coming off.

I feel scammed and I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The only positive thing I have to say is that we only had to stay for a single night.

Brilliant location in Reykjavik. Walkable to most places. The room was very comfortable with a large and warm bed. Make sure you get to breakfast early, as they were running out of food at 9am. I would definitely stay here again. It was very welcoming and comfortable.

Stayed for 3 nights with a friend. Hotel location really good, just in the centre of the city. Room nice and warm with private bathroom ( I know you can book also rooms with sharing bathroom). The room could be little be noisy because of the thin window on early morning or late evening, with the hotel located just on main street where all the buses are coming to pick up tourist. Breakfast good, with a good choice of cold and hot food. Staff ok that can help you with any information or booking. Overall a nice stay.

The hotel is right next to one of the pickup points for all tours and buses, downtown shops and areas are perfect walking distance. The rooms are small but that's fine since it's mainly for sleeping and keeping your things while you explore. Some rooms have private bathroom, others have a shared one and it's about 3 rooms per bathroom, they are always clean but other guests aren't as clean with them. They clean your room daily and provide you with clean towels. There's also a small sink, full length mirror, hair dryer and kettle in the rooms. Breakfast is served in the dinner on the 1st floor and there's quite a selection of everything. I stayed 3 nights and I'm happy with my stay, it suited my needs perfectly.

I had 2 pizzas in this town. First one was in "No name pizza" place, and that one was outstanding. In this pizzeria it was just normal, good pizza. So it is safe to visit. But... It is just normal...

Delicious wood fired pizza (you can see the pizza oven in the kitchen). Medium pizza was plenty for 1 person and reasonably priced compared to internationally well known pizza chains. Free fizzy drink refills. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only in Reykjavik for 4 nights, but having tried a few other restaurants here, we've decided to return to Eldsmidjan for our final night evening meal.

Best pizza we've had! Staff friendly, fast service and great tasting pizza, highly reccomend. Well worth it and get more than your moneys worth

This pizza spot is right on the main shopping street in downtown Reykjavik. Nice beer selection and laid back atmosphere. My only negative comment here is the sauce. Very basic with very little flavor. Crust was excellent.
21.06.2017 Richard
Summary based on one dinner:
-very good pizza, easily comparable to just about any expectation
-service upstairs friendly, but can be a bit slow when busy, which is understandable. We didn't have to wait for seating.
-medium sized is good for dinner, perhaps small. We mistakenly got a large & a medium after ordering two mediums and had enough for another dinner the next night. Take away box provided and we weren't charged extra for the large.
-typical prices for this area
-credit cards accepted
-didn't ask about wifi
-parking wasn't an issue since we walked

Excellent lobster soup, tasty porterhouse steak cooked to perfection. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Ambient could benefit from some improvements.

Food was good, service was good, prices were as expected. Food prices in Iceland are very high compared to other countries, especially for beef. This premium steakhouse is no exception.

The service was pretty good compared to other restaurants I visited in Iceland.

Nothing about my experience was bad, but this isn't a *MUST GO* restaurant for tourists in Iceland.

Great pizza. ?
28.10.2017 Rebecca
Told there was a 30 minute wait for food, we were there for an hour and a half because they 'gave our pizza to someone else'. They didnt have a record of our order when it came to getting a refund. Total waste of time. If you're dead set on pizza go somewhere else.
27.10.2017 David
They somehow lost my pizza, probably gave it away accidentally. Over 1 hour waiting. Also quite expensive. Avoid.

Amazing pizza. The crust is thinned to the perfect size. The menu is completely in Icelandic, so it was hard to figure out, but very good either way

Very quiet and nice place. The pizza was really good
