Loft - HI Hostel

Very nice. Everything about it. Yes it's expensive but not compared to everything else in Iceland. It really is a great deal considering the cost of things there. 4 floors. Elevator! Easy to follow entry instructions in case you arrive after hours (which I did with a delayed flight) the bus drops off a block away. And taxis pick up from Hard Rock Cafe nearby or they'll call you one. Each dorm has its own private bath&shower in it. Community kitchen is nice, spacious. Tap water is delicious. Breakfast for a fee is worth it. The white box they mention to get your room key is mounted to the wall (I was picturing a box on a table). Comfortable clean beds and helpful friendly staff. I'll be back.

Nice hostel with a great location in town. Near many restaurants and bars. Can be loud at night if staying on the weekend but the hostel does have free ear plugs. Great rooftop bar with a nice view as well.

- booked a private room with a bunk bed. The bed is comfortable, bedsheets are crispy clean. Bathroom is very clean - love the color, too. The roof top terrace is amazing - and the common room on the top floor is pretty cool… We can afford to stay in a hotel - but we choose Loft because it’s just awesome:)

Amazing for the price! It is in close proximity to absolutely everything. My dorm room was clean, cozy, and relatively spacious. It's not the most quiet hostel but not the most rowdy party hostel either. It has a good balance.

My first solo travel trip and I met a lot of wonderful people in my dorm room. Great location since it’s so close to the city centre and the bus stops for the day tours. Can get a bit loud at night but i was usually super tired after being out all day that I just slept through it without any issue. Really loved my stay here:)

One of my favorite Hostels - only on weekdays though :) the restaurant and bar next door turns into a club on weekends and the walls will tremble from the bass vibrations. Otherwise, I actually love their vibe and staff is super friendly. And they have one of the coolest terraces to sip a craft beer. I stayed in three different rooms this and last year, and all of them are good, I prefer the bunk beds over their double since the matraces are harder than in double, and generally it could be a bit more maintained.

I had a chance to spend an entire week at this hostel, and every moment was wonderful. The rooms and facilities are really clean, there were really cool activities like karaoke and water coloring in the common room, the staff were really friendly and there was even a fully set-up self-catering kitchen to use. The location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of the Reykjavik city center. I would certainly recommend this hostel to others!

Great, clean rooms at a good price. Pretty good breakfast, very reasonable bar with a good value happy hour. Right around the corner from bus stop 6 for getting to the airport and tours.

The Reykjavik Loft HI Hostel was outstanding. It's in the heart of the city, and has beautiful accommodations and amenities. The staff and all other patrons were friendly, the rooms were secure and clean, and the location can't be beat. Would recommend.
