Alam Shanti is magical / a beautiful family owned traditional Balinese estate with mutiple homes made into villas. Nestled in the jungle and surrounded by beautiful statues looks and water features . Staff are just lovely and so attentive. We got to know Ketak and Putu who were so helpful and gracious . Such a serene place I didn’t want to leave . Situated 15 mins from downtown and at at foot of monkey...
I don’t even know where to begin about how lovely Alam Shanti is… call outs are the rooms and staff! My friend and I were having a bali friend trip and booked the honeymoon package and we totally had a honeymoon! The decorations were extravagant and we loved the rooms and attention to detail. First night Dewi (amazing balcony) and next we moved to one bedroom Ganngga and had the private pool (which...
It was truly a paradise on earth! We stayed here for five days. Surrounded by a beautiful garden and the sounds of birds and insects, we enjoyed breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner on the garden terrace. The staff’s service and the quality of the food were outstanding, and Alam Shanti is without a doubt the best hotel we have ever stayed at. If I could, I would turn back time to the first day of our...
My Fiancé and I spent 9 days at Alam Shanti, and we had a wonderful time. The accommodations were comfortable with a huge bathroom in the room with plenty of space in the bedroom. We remembered to bring our adapters for the 220 outlets, so we had no problem charging our phones. The property is about 100 yards off of the main road so is very quiet and tranquil. The staff was magnificent and the friendliest...
If you are looking to stay at a hotel with traditional Indonesian architecture and very close to the nature, this is the place to do so. The peace and nature sounds will be your companions, as each room (which is actually a spacious house) is sorrounded by ponds and trees and plants. We had the pleasure of staying in the Shanti room, which has a bathroom opened to a back mini garden with an outside...
If you want to feel like you live in the jungle, this is for you. We had a second floor room with an excellent view of the local wildlife. We saw monkeys, birds, squirrels, cats and much more from our terrace. It was awesome! Food and drinks can be delivered to your room for free. Breakfast had a variety of options and it was pretty good. We had a close encounter with thieving monkeys at the pool...

I’m in love with this place! The location is perfect it’s in the center of many things but it’s still secluded and very peaceful. So you get to enjoy both worlds. The staff is so sweet and helpful. And the rooms are very nice and spacious!
I absolutely loved my stay. If I ever come back to bali, I'd for sure consider going to this hotel. The staff were super friendly. The room was very spacious and the garden/pool/rice farm were gorgeous. A short ride from the shopping center and the monkey forest. They also had shuttle bus every few hours to the center. The rooms were clean and when I was staying, it seemed that they were renovating...
Food is amazing. Pool side is relaxing and staff so helpful and friendly. Rooms are lovely and spacious, grounds are beautiful. Only thing would be the showers are a bit old but over all we will be back and disappointed we only stayed one night. If you’re considering don’t give it a second thought if you’re wanting relaxing and chilled. We traveled with two families children from 3-16
This spacious hotel was a lovely place to be. With all the expected Balinese amenities, this one boast incredible staff, a large pool great for families and couples as well as perfectly manicured gardens. Set amongst the picturesque rice paddies, this hotel transports you to a simpler time. With various rooms offered some newly renovated others that are like villa's there is something here for everyone...

I've stayed at a lot of hotels in Bali over the years, but 11 on Kajeng is genuinely something else. If you're looking for the best boutique hotel in Ubud — somewhere intimate, beautifully designed, and adults-only so you can actually relax — this is exactly it. We booked for four nights and immediately wished we'd stayed longer. The location is absolutely unbeatable. Right in the heart of central...
Our large group (10 people) spent 3 nights at 11 on Kajeng. We were the only occupants in the entire hotel. This place is the true definition of a boutique hotel in all the best ways! The grounds of the hotel are like a tranquil, tropical oasis. The staff bends over backwards to make sure that all your needs and requests are met. They scheduled our airport pickup with Adi, our driver, one of the friendliest...
Stunning boutique hotel. Most amazing gardens, and gorgeous rooms. The staff were all beyond exceptional; they made you feel at home and part of the family. Cannot recommend highly enough 10/10!
Excellent hotel, the best hotel so far that we visited in Bali, the accommodation was very comfortable and clean, the service was excellent, very efficient, discreet and friendly! They have a very beautiful swimming pool surrounded by well entertained plants. Outdoors we can smell the incense! The breakfast was excellent, a really enjoyable experience, we wish we had stayed there longer! We will come...
Helpful, welcoming, thoughtful staff. Attentive staff and never intrusive. The pool area was great, nice and quiet off the street location but still close to the markets and restaurants. Having access to two roads directly from the property was convenient - definitely message them when arriving according to their instructions to find the back door. Breakfasts were okay with a really flexible serving...
Stunning place! Absolut beauty... Stylish with home feeling, located just a few minutes from the Ubud in gorgeous garden. Amazing furniture, lights and decoration which we didn't meet anywhere else in Bali on our almost 2 months trip there visiting many places. Great bad, great breakfast and fantastic people. I believe there is no other place as beautiful as this one on whole island.

Most beautiful villa we have been to while in Bali. So private with incredible views. Amazing, Kind and attentive staff. we would definitely return to Black Penny Villa Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve reviewed Black Penny before and I’ll continue doing so because it is my favorite in Ubud. I’ve stayed at several villas/hotels in Bali/Ubid over the last 15 years or so and Black Penny is my favorite for several reasons. 1. The private infinity pools overlooking the rainforest and river is so peaceful and beautiful. 2. The staff is impeccable and so sweet. 3. Love the bathtub and bed! 4. Great...
The best Villas ever, calmness, respect, privacy, comfrot, facilities, the design of the villas and style, views, everything is so perfect cannot be better. the only thing is that food quantity in breakfast is not so big but it was so fresh and tasted amazing. Thank you Black Penny.
The hotel view is amazing, facing the rice field. Stayed here for 3 nights… hotel staffs are helpful and friendly. Breakfast selection is great. I did read some of the bad reviews from trip advisor. I think the management did changed the team. They are super professional now. The toilet is located outside the room so do expect to see ants and insects. As for the room, there are some wear and tear...

Awesome villa, stylish and beautiful. You can't hear the neighbors, it feels like you have the place all to yourself. The staff are wonderful, always ready to help and advise. The à la carte breakfast is very tasty. Excellent cleaning and a convenient location.
The location is a bit far from downtown. It was a shame that room service wasn't readily available. The staff were friendly. It was nice to have a private pool. It's a little scary at night!
The hotel's location is fantastic—in the heart of downtown, yet incredibly quiet! The rooms and pool are both very nice! The breakfast could be a bit more varied, but the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming!
Nice villa, too bad the pool isn't heated The villa needs a refresh and a more thorough cleaning of the floors and exterior walls
The best stay I’ve ever had! Everything was perfect.
I had the most FABULOUS stay at Aria Villas in Ubud, Bali! I had a private villa with a pool, which was a great size. The team in Semana villa are very friendly and helpful. They always greet with great smiles especially Dewi. On my birthday, the team surprised me with a birthday cake delivered to my room even after 10pm when we got back from the shopping. There were several breakfast options to choose from, and they were all delicious. I also had dinner once, which was typically Indonesian and very tasty. It was nice to be with nature. The facilities were a bit old and a bit dirty. And on the first day, the water didn't come out, so I was a bit confused. But the breakfast and the staff were friendly.

The hotel yard is large, the living room is open, and the doors of the three rooms are rusted and difficult to close. From the lobby to the room, you must first go down a long flight of stairs and cross a bridge to get there, which is not suitable for elderly people. There are many bugs in the house, but this is tolerable. Because the elderly have difficulty walking, we confirmed with the front desk...
Because it is in the woods, the room is a bit damp, the quilt is a blanket, not a domestic duvet, Ubud is a bit cold this season, the swimming pool can not be experienced, breakfast is a la carte, not many choices, the sayan piont restaurant next to the hotel is very good, you must experience it once
I stayed in Ubud for one night. The hotel environment is very quiet. After entering the hotel, you need to walk over a bridge and a road to get to the room. We stayed in a two-bedroom room, but the air conditioning in one of them was not very good.
By having looking on pictures, i never got an idea that how beautiful this property is. This is amazing. Surrounded by lush green jungle vibes. Every detailing is beautiful.
Quite a nice villa with beautiful views over the river, far from the crowds. If you like staying in a quiet area, this is a good place and if you want to go to Ubud Central, it only takes 10 minutes by car.whenever your holiday at Bali island mush try stay at this villa

This hotel is very quiet and has a tropical jungle vibe. The facilities are also beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. However, the room itself was relatively simple, and the bathroom looked like it had seen better days. There was also a slight stain on the sheets in room 44, which made me feel like the hotel wasn't very particular about cleanliness. Staying in February...
Overall, it is a pleasant stay. However, i am taken aback that a "health resort" like this use cheap shampoo and body wash that smells like detergent. The smell was so repulsive that my whole family bought new body wash instead of using what the hotel provides.
Personal service by staff was wonderful. They were perfectly kind and awesome. My two comments - I had to move my room since bed sheet in the first room was not clean (had some red and yellow stains with some female hair) so we had to sleep on (not under) the blanket. In addition, wifi connection signal was not strong enough to do my work which needs to utilize multiple AI engines.
The hotel is located near Ubud Palace so the location is great and quite central however the street where the hotel located is basically a back street from main and its very small that car accessible is not quite possible just bike unless there is no upcoming traffic, a car could pass thru. Huge thanks to the hotel for the lovely honeymoon room setup and the surprise cake at breakfast – it was such a thoughtful touch! We booked a suite for two nights and a pool villa for another two. Both room types were fantastic and made for an excellent stay.

Our Bali trip became memorable because of this amazing resort. The rooms were spacious and clean, the ambiance was relaxing, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The food was delicious, and the facilities were top-notch. Highly satisfied
The restaurant and pool are great, the setting is magnificent in the middle of the jungle. A major drawback is the bathroom: a terrible musty smell; a ventilation system would solve the problem. Breakfast was nice, and the service was impeccable. Just so you know, the hotel is far from everything…
Beautiful rice paddy setting, very relaxing, but the room was far from dreamy. Plus, there was a baseboard with animal pincers sticking out... It was a family of scorpions (one of which was dead on the tiles, so no mistake). We informed reception, but they didn't offer to change rooms; we had to ask (so avoid room 117). No discount was offered for this inconvenience despite our request, and at checkout...
The room is very spacious. The hotel staff are 10/10! They are super friendly and attentive! Love the people here. The only downside is that the place is quite old and has relatively more insects than other hotel. But overall it is still an amazing stay!

Generally speaking, Ubud is more than 1500
The hotel has a rustic, luxurious feel, but the room wasn't what I'd imagined. The bed opens directly onto the door, so the space isn't very spacious. The hotel is surrounded by lush greenery. The service is good, and the breakfast is plentiful. They also offer complimentary afternoon tea. There's a scheduled shuttle service to and from Ubud town center. Because it's nestled in the mountains, you'll encounter a lot of birds and geckos, and you might hear birds chirping at night.
The hotel is beautiful, but there's a catch: the restaurant food is very expensive and portions are tiny. There's nowhere else to eat nearby, so they're clearly banking on guests having no choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant and spend a significant amount. The staff were very nice. Breakfast was so-so; it ended at 10:30 am, and they stopped replenishing food from then on. Once it was gone, that was it. Ants were very difficult to keep out of the room; they were on the table and even the blankets. I think for this price, the pest control could have been better. First of all the staff is amazing - this has nothing to do with them. If you’re looking for a clean, basic place to stay in Ubud then this is definitely a good fit. I usually stay more in the center of town but I wanted to be closer to the yoga barn (ended up being a...
We had a wonderful three days. The rooms were simple, spacious, and quiet. It rained a lot, so we stayed at the hotel for a long time, but it was comfortable. The connecting rooms on the second floor had a balcony. The view from there was amazing, and we enjoyed afternoon tea and the view of the rice fields. The food was delicious, and we could enjoy dinner at the hotel. The staff were friendly.
We had such an amazing experience at this hotel! We arrived quite late, around 11 PM, yet the staff warmly welcomed us with refreshing ginger and lemon welcome drinks such a thoughtful gesture that instantly took away all our travel fatigue. Despite our late check-in, the team went above and beyond the next morning by arranging an early breakfast just for us since we had to leave before regular breakfast...
A Truly Wonderful Stay at Hotel Byasa! ★★★★★ I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Hotel Byasa! From the moment I arrived, Eka welcomed me with such warmth that I instantly felt at home. The entire staff treated me like family throughout my stay, making every interaction a delight. The property is stunning—the pool is amazing, surrounded by lush gardens that back up to a serene rice field. I loved...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Samsara Ubud is the kind of place you go to when you genuinely need to slow down. The location is beautiful—right by a cliff, surrounded by jungle, so the views are incredibly calming and private. No crowds, no noise, just nature everywhere. It really feels like a proper wellness escape. The sunrise yoga was one of my favorite moments of the stay. Practicing with a full jungle view felt grounding...

The hotel has a great atmosphere, showcasing Balinese cultural architectural features, and the rooms are clean and spacious. It's a bit far from the palace, so you definitely need to take a taxi. Although it's next to the Monkey Forest, that entrance is closed, so you have to go to the main entrance, which is quite a bit further.
Booking this hotel was definitely the highlight of our Bali trip! We stayed for 5 days and rented a scooter right at the hotel entrance. It was super convenient for getting around since the hotel is centrally located in Ubud. We easily rode to Lovina, Mount Batur, and the Black Sand Beach. The hotel environment is fantastic, giving you that 'rainforest' vibe. It's very quiet, so we had excellent sleep...
Good and quiet location, cozy with very nice bedding. Delicious breakfast. There are two swimming pools. Very friendly staff.
The hotel environment is excellent, and the service is warm and friendly. The location is quite convenient, not far from the city center. For an extra 50 yuan, you can upgrade to a floating breakfast, which really adds to the rainforest ambiance. There's also a laundry service, charged per item.
We loved staying at Villa Sonia. It’s in a great location - not in the hustle and bustle of all the shops, but close enough to get there in 10-15 minutes. It’s surrounded by cafes and restaurants, as well as M Marts (like seven eleven) and spas! The villa also has it’s own restaurant and spa, which is really convenient. Apart from all these conveniences, the villa is also really beautiful and the staff...
