Hotel Ambra in Forte dei Marmi

It was okay. Definitely not the best, since the host was easily annoyed and got loud. Even if people were seen on the hallway being quiet, he got aggressiv towards them.

The food was bought and not self-made.
Some was good, others were questionable.
Yes, you can say that you’re vegetarian, vegan or other in advance.
Everyday the menu was: Pasta, something meaty with something made out of potatoes (or a vegan/vegetarian patty) and for dessert ice-Creme, Panna Cotta and on the last day Pizza and Tiramisu.
My point of view was that the food was absolutely plain and I loaded it with salt and pepper.
There’s a huge lack of fruits or vegetables in the whole eating habit.

For breakfast was some cake, cornflakes (not even muesli), white bread with cheese and ham.
Tea and orange juice was great.
I can’t say much to the food, since I didn’t eat breakfast.

The room service cleaned well but sometimes put items onto the wrong bed. That’s not a huge negative point though, since they can’t know what belongs on which bed.

I must say, I got really lucky with the room, since others had broken furniture and even mold inside!
I didn’t have that in room 112. You had to wait a small amount of time for the water to get warm but that’s not too bad.
There wasn’t a window inside the bathroom which was a bit annoying but nothing more than that.

Sadly, the lactation is far away from almost everything. The nearest store is to 10 minutes away and it’s quite small.
Bars were closer, to 3-7 minutes away.

One bakery was close and a park was near too. If you went jogging, you had a good way for that.

All in all: I don’t think it is family friendly. For a weeks stay it’s fine but I wouldn't want to be there any longer.

A very rude receptionist wanted me, my husband and our 3 small kids to go away at midnight (the kids were sleeping in the car) when we arrived. She doesn’t speak English well and didn’t understand how many we were over the phone before. I think she was annoyed by her own misunderstanding by the lack of English and the late hour of our arrival. She couldn’t bring us a baby bed as well. I can’t believe such rude people can work in the hospitality business. We booked a different hotel after this night. When we were speaking in front of her that because of no baby bed we might spend 1 day instead of 3 she said ‘no you spend 0 days here go’. What a heartless woman. At midnight with 3 small children!

Good location, free parking, clean, good patio, but... Very high audibility in the room, you can hear how your neighbors flush the toilet. The rooms are furnished very modestly. Every day the same, not very good breakfast with the cheapest instant coffee, if you want normal coffee, you must order. Staff is not very polite, I don't understand the praise in previous reviews. You can have a problem with booking a place on the beach, because everything is full, and nobody can help you (the price is about 70 euro per day). Free beach is 30 min by walk. The price is to high for this hotel.
