Hotel Illi in Marina di Massa

I usually do not write reviews but never in my 16 years of life I’ve witnessed something like this. I usually do not judge family run businesses so this very hard for me. When I walked in the room I saw unwashed blankets. The toilet barely flushed and the holder for the shower head was broken. I ve also left some money in the room and when I went to take the money out it wasn’t there. When I’ve discussed this matter with the hotel, I was later welcomed with a letter in my room stating it’s not their responsibility.

The rooms are very small, and the blankets weren't washed. When I went to bed, several bed slats simply broke, so I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor. The staff forgot our breakfast twice. The location is okay, as it's close to the sea. I can definitely recommend it!

The room was very small and dirty, the location is close to the center but a bit further from the sea, the service was really poor as you have to wait a very long time and breakfast usually depends on when they feel like getting up.

+ We were allowed to check in earlier than usual
- Hardly anyone there speaks any English
- We had a four-bed room, which was obvious it was actually meant for two people, and two extra beds had been added
- The bunk bed didn't have a ladder
+ Very close to the beach and a view of the mountains
- The food selection was very poor (pasta every day). There was far too little at the beginning, but it got a bit better towards the end
+ The salad was tasty, just without dressing
+ Vegans didn't have much choice, but they made a reasonable effort
- We had to hand in our keys every day, and instead of putting them away, they sometimes lay on the counter all day, and when we returned, they were usually unattended
- Room service only made the beds and didn't empty the trash, sweep, or clean the bathroom
- The shower took minutes to warm up for us, while others had to take completely cold showers. Additionally, the shower head wouldn't stay in place.
- Several rooms had ant problems out of the blue.
+ Outlets worked normally with German cables, no adapter needed.
All in all, it's not recommended for a school class to stay for a week, but it was acceptable, and perhaps it would be more pleasant for a private individual.

Horrible stay, very small room, damp and full of small ants everywhere.
I do not recommend evaluating this structure even as a support for one night, better to get by in the car
