Hotel Bencista' in Marina di Pietrasanta

Your description of this hotel should be updated. Now owned by a chain (Gregori Hotels) and reviews are absolutely shocking. Because of dreadful reviews regarding security in the hotel I emailed the new owners. (No staff. Use of cleaners keys to open rooms. Door open 24/7 etc.). Still waiting on a response. Was so concerned I cancelled and booked a different hotel.

My poor rating goes to the management, not the hotel itself, which has considerable potential (seafront location, renovated rooms, fantastic terrace, pleasant common areas). But the situation I found was appalling. Initially, they told me there was no reservation, then that the room had been closed because previous guests had taken the key, and there was no duplicate, nor was it possible to recode the card (apparently the staff who were responsible for this, among other things, resigned). Multiple guests are given the cleaning lady's pass, which is left unattended, allowing anyone to enter the various rooms. There is no receptionist, as it is manned by the breakfast lady in the mornings and deserted in the afternoons. The front door is open 24/7 and anyone can enter. Room passes are left in envelopes on the counter for guests arriving that day. This is extremely serious: No one is registered, and it is unknown who is in the hotel! I am already taking steps to report this to the relevant authorities! We found ourselves without a key at 7 PM, and the breakfast lady had to return to the hotel to try to resolve the issue. She wasn't the hotel employee, but apparently the only person on site. She managed to open the room after almost two hours, causing us considerable inconvenience and a shudder of anger. We were promised a partial refund of the room price, but that NEVER ARRIVED. You can't run a hotel without adequate staff. When booking, I thought being part of a hotel group would be a safety measure, but it turned out to be a tragedy. I've never seen anything like it. It feels like a ghost hotel. It's pointless to have beautiful facilities if you can't manage either a hotel or its staff, who are leaving...

Absolutely the Worst Stay of My Life
I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. There was no staff present, no one to contact, and it was completely impossible to get assistance when I needed it. The key card they gave me didn’t work, and I was locked out for an entire night—with no one available to help, no phone answering, nothing.

When I finally managed to speak to someone the next day, the staff were incredibly rude and completely indifferent to what had happened. They didn’t apologize or try to make it right in any way. It was honestly one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had.

Avoid this place at all costs.

Very good cleanliness, friendly staff, decent rooms, too bad the tiny bathroom (in the shower it is not possible to move due to really sacrificed space).
Some negative notes should be noted:
- at breakfast you are served by a waiter who accompanies you and makes you choose what you want; very good products, good cakes, it is a pity that the portions are really for a child and not for an adult. Slices of cake that appear to be tastings / mini portions (it also seems rude to get up 4 times to request additions to the mini saucer that is served to you ... !!!), long waiting times because only 1 waiter has to serve all the guests who in that moment they are accommodated ... a little disorganized.
- bicycles chapter: before making them available, customers should be informed that the bikes are paid (€ 10 per day), do not charge them on the final bill at the end of the stay .. FOR CORRECTNESS!
Advised? Maybe it gets better.
