Hotel Oriente in Lipari Town

Our experience at this restaurant was completely unacceptable, and the main reason was the manager in charge. He was aggressive, rude, and confrontational with several people in our group. He got directly in guests’ faces, raised his voice, and behaved in a way that made the entire situation feel hostile and intimidating. At one point, it genuinely felt like the situation could turn physical. On top of that, there were repeated attempts to charge people in our group for items that we had been told were already included with our meal. Instead of calmly explaining the situation or trying to resolve the confusion professionally, the manager escalated everything. What was even more concerning was that my sister clearly explained that she is gluten-free and dairy-free, yet she was still served food containing gluten and dairy. Dietary restrictions should be taken seriously, especially when a guest has specifically communicated them in advance. We are traveling as a group and came here expecting to enjoy a nice meal during our trip. Instead, we were treated with disrespect and made to feel extremely uncomfortable. A manager should be the person de-escalating problems, not creating them. The way he spoke to people, handled the billing issues, and the lack of care shown toward dietary restrictions was completely inappropriate for someone working in hospitality. I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience, and I strongly hope the hotel takes this seriously and addresses how guests are being treated.
