San Montano Resort & Spa in Ischia Town

A beautiful hotel and spa. Stunning views from every room of the surrounding town and waters. The staff went out of their way to be welcoming and ensure your every desire was catered to. Every Canadian wanting to visit Ischia should stay here.

We loved our stay at San Montano. Marco DeMeglio and his team couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly, or accommodating. Breakfast and the view was amazing every morning. The waitstaff was wonderful, and the fresh eggs, prosciutto/mortadella/cheese options fruit, pastries, and yogurt kept us going for the day. We loved relaxing by the thermal pools and taking in the breathtaking views, probably the best on the island. Before dinner each evening, we’d head to the bar patio for a drink at sunset. The various complimentary snacks in a spoon were a nice touch. We also both agree that the massages at the spa were the best we’ve ever had. The rooms and the whole resort were top notch. We can’t recommend San Montano enough. Thank you to Marco and the entire team for making our getaway so special! If possible, this place should be “6” STARS!

My girlfriend and I had an incredible 5 night stay at San Montano. The resort is conveniently located to both Forio Porto and Lacco Ameno. The property is very lush, clean and well maintained. It sits perched atop one of the more elevated parts of the island, and the views are breath taking in every direction. We spent quite a bit of time in the thermal pools getting lost in the views of the rest of the island, the Golf of Napoli and Vesuvius. It's hard not to. The service was also exceptional, they went above and beyond to accommodate every request and made sure our experience was as relaxing as could be. They are also very helpful with coordinating taxi service, as that's really the only way to explore the other parts of the island. Food was delicious - we loved the pizza from Francos and the breakfast buffet is the best we've seen! We highly recommend San Montano if you are planning a trip to Ischia and can't wait to come back!

We spent 10 nights at San Montano for my wife’s birthday. The property is perched on top of a hill with 360 degree views of Naples, Procida, Lacco Ameno and sunset. Great food and service. The staff was very informative and helpful with insights in Ischia and making reservations for boats, tours, dinners etc. They have a shuttle into town and to 2 beach clubs.

San Montano really stood out to us for its excellent communication and service, even before we arrived. The team was extremely responsive and helpful with everything from restaurant and beach club reservations to transfers and spa arrangements. Our transportation from Naples to Ischia was seamless, and both the car and boat transfer teams were incredibly kind and professional. The staff at the hotel deserves five stars for their attentiveness and outstanding hospitality. We also really enjoyed the food, drinks, and evening entertainment. The piano player was especially sweet and even played songs in Spanish for me and dedicated one to me, which was such a lovely touch. One of my favorite meals was the grilled fish with vegetables at the poolside restaurant. Our Amalfi Room was absolutely beautiful—spacious, spotless, comfortable, and with breathtaking views. It had everything we needed and made our stay feel very special. There were just a couple of things that could be improved. We had an outdoor couples massage and were not warned about the mosquitoes, which made it difficult to relax and resulted in several bites, including one on my face. The staff was very understanding and helpful afterward. We also found that the restaurant areas could become quite hot, and having fans available would make dining much more comfortable during the summer months. Overall, San Montano was a wonderful and very memorable experience. The incredible views, pools on different levels and at different temperatures, natural saltwater pools, beautiful grounds, and exceptional service make this resort truly special. We would highly recommend it.

San Montano exceeded every expectation. The setting is absolutely breathtaking, the rooms are beautiful, and every detail of the property is thoughtfully done. What truly sets it apart, though, is the warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire team. Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The food was outstanding, the thermal pools and spa were exceptional, and the views are among the most beautiful I’ve ever experienced. San Montano is truly a rare gem, one of those special places that stays with you long after you leave. I can’t wait to return and would recommend San Montano without hesitation to anyone visiting Ischia.

San Montano was amazing from start to finish. We loved everything about our time in Ischia, and so much of that came down to this hotel. No request was too big or too small, the staff accommodated everything beautifully, and they did it with genuine warmth that made us feel completely taken care of the whole stay. On top of all that, the value was fantastic. For what we experienced, both in terms of service and the overall stay, it felt like we got so much more than what we paid for. We loved the staff, we loved the island, and we loved San Montano. If you're considering Ischia, this is the place to stay.

Nice location and attentive staff in the restaurants. Pool staff could be more courteous. Spa manager and staff are great. Air conditioning in our suite was terrible. We really could not sit in our living room because although something was running in the 4 days we were there it never got cold and bedroom got cool at best. the net is its a nice place but NO WAY a 5-star resort. More like a 3.8-to-4-star place.

We spent three amazing days at San Montano Resort, and every moment was absolutely wonderful. Our room was perfect — spacious, beautifully maintained, and with a balcony overlooking the thermal pools and the breathtaking Bay of Naples. It was the kind of view you never get tired of. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and we both slept so well every night. Breakfast each morning was an experience in itself. The selection was outstanding — from savory made-to-order egg dishes to flavorful Italian meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, and irresistible pastries. Everything was served in a dining area with a stunning panoramic view, and the service was top-notch. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help — it really set the tone for the day. The service throughout the resort was truly exceptional. The front desk team went above and beyond to make our stay seamless — from helping us make dinner reservations and arranging taxis to guiding us on how to use the complimentary shuttle to the nearby village. A special thank you to Francesco, who went out of his way to recommend a fantastic restaurant for our last night — a true hidden gem! He not only made the reservation but also arranged our transportation there and back, making the evening completely stress-free. He and his colleagues at the front desk truly exemplify first-class service. And I can’t say enough about the wonderful and relaxing thermal pools. With the plush terry-cloth robes and flip-flops provided by the resort, the experience was pure bliss — the perfect way to unwind and take in the incredible surroundings. San Montano Resort exceeded our expectations in every way — from the beautiful setting and relaxing atmosphere to the thoughtful touches and outstanding hospitality. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to returning someday.
