Salotto Toledo in Naples

We stayed for three nights on our first visit to Naples. The location is excellent — the area felt safe, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafés nearby, and lots to see and do within walking distance. As a hotel manager myself, I’m quite critical when it comes to accommodation, but I genuinely couldn’t fault the property. The room and amenities are very basic, but everything you need is provided. Both the room and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only real disappointment was the breakfast. We booked a room with breakfast included, but there was no mention prior to arrival that breakfast was not served on-site. At check-in, we were told it was at a café down the road. On the first morning, despite following the directions and maps provided, we couldn’t find the café and returned to the hotel for clarification. We were sent back again, only to discover the café was closed, with the shutters down completely covering the name. After wasting around 30 minutes, we returned to the hotel understandably disappointed. The receptionist appeared unaware that the café was closed and seemed quite confused. Eventually, we were advised to go to another café owned by the same people. That café, Ke Kafe, was a very unpleasant experience. As soon as staff saw our breakfast voucher, their attitude changed — they were rude, dismissive, and clearly unhappy to serve us. We were seated without explanation and told there was no menu. Breakfast consisted of one plain croissant and one coffee per person. When we asked for tea, the waiter laughed, and we were then served the wrong coffees, which felt deliberate. When you compare the room rates with and without breakfast, you’re effectively paying approximately €11 per person per day for breakfast, which is completely unjustifiable. The café’s own menu lists a croissant at €2.50 and an espresso at €2.50 — a total of €5. We chose not to return for breakfast again, despite having paid for six more breakfasts, especially as there are many far better cafés nearby. The reviews for both cafés are extremely poor, so it’s disappointing that the hotel chooses to associate with them. On a positive note, the hotel was very responsive via WhatsApp and kindly arranged our airport transfer. Overall, I would recommend the property for its location, cleanliness, and comfort — just avoid the breakfast option.

Great spot in the heart of the Spanish Quarter!
We loved this spot in the heart of the Spanish Quarter! Yuri was super helpful and friendly and the room was perfect for a family of 4. We were right next to restaurants and shopping as well as the port for ferries to the Amalfi Coast and Capri. The bathroom was huge and there were 2 small balconies. It was a wonderful spot- would stay there again!

We had a very brief stay but found the room to be roomy, comfortable and stylish. Check in staff were very helpful and polite.

This is a unique property in the Spanish Quarter. Vehicles cannot drive to the entrance, which is very difficult to find if you think you are looking for a traditional hotel. It would be helpful for the hotel to send a photo of the entrance or post one on the website so it would be easier to find. However, once you find it, it's a great spot. So central to everything and spotlessly clean. A wonderful little balcony overlooking the chaotic street that is surprisingly quiet at night. Wonderful front desk staff. Convenient baggage storage at a small fee. As a woman traveling alone, I would like to have had a deadbolt on the door for extra security.

Nice location and clean rooms
It’s very clean and a nice place with a great location. I found it strange the only bedding they provide was a top and bottoms sheet. Covers or comforters were not provided in the room.

We stayed only one night, but what a wonderful surprise: super clean, very well designed, extremely comfy bed, the perfect place for a traveller! Very central location so you do not need the car and very quiet during the night. Nearby a huge selection of restaurants, pizzerie and bistros…. sorry it was for a very short stay. Yuri, the owner, organised the transfer to the airport: super collaboration with Gary the driver. Next holiday in Naples I will request him to drive us around, pleasant, efficient and punctual. We stayed one night only: Salottotoledo is easy to find, central, perfect in all details, quiet, supercomfy bed, super clean, just what a traveller needs. Best location to visit Naples without the hustle of having a car, lots of restaurants around.
