Caravaggio Hotel in Naples

In terms of the room size, no complaints; it's huge!
The bed was comfortable and clean and the air conditioning, which I could control, worked very well.
Unfortunately, the window in the corner looks out on an alley or something so there is next to no natural light and the lighting was very dim including in the bathroom; it doesnt look as nice as in the 📸
My main reason for the 3 stars for the room is that there was a persistent smell of urine in the bathroom, so much so that I couldn't stay in there to take a shower at first because I felt the smell would get onto me.
The staff (who were all lovely and made me delicious cappuccinos in.the morning and allowed me to store my luggage before checkin) did address it when I asked and poured something in the toilet which helped somewhat but it seemed to only mask the smell with another smell. :/ Perhaps it's just the pipes in Naples.
The shower is very small (I am not a big person and I found it hard to move to wash my hair) and the door didn't close properly so water got all over the floor.
A very central place and it felt safe but I would hope they update the bathrooms before I consider returning.
Also, the 2nd day I went down for breakfast with 20 min left, there was almost nothing there (the previous morning there had been meat and cheese, now there was just cereal and pastries)

The hotel building is well located, but very old, so the wooden windows don't close properly, etc. Hotel service: There were helpful staff at reception, but this hotel, which is almost a 4-star hotel, didn't have any of this. The breakfast was very poor and less Italian. The laundry and cleaning staff were excellent. The choice is yours.
