Hostel Santa Monaca, Florence1 / 23
8.2
Florence, Via Santa Monaca, 6, 50124 Florentsiya, Toskana, Italiya 🧭 Map
I booked this hostel from October 29th to November 14th of 2025. It was my first hostel (pretty much) and first time solo traveling. I needed a place cheap where to stay for 2 weeks. I thought that the fact that it was an old convent was cool. I was in boarding school back in Cuba (worst than this hostel), so I knew I could do it. On top of everything I stayed in a 16 mix bed. The smells was the first...
Definitely not a modern hostel but still a fair place to stay at. It’s very central and good if all you need is a place to sleep and to shower. The environment is a kinda dark which made me feel a bit unsafe, since I was in a mixed dorm and felt a little uncomfortable, but that’s just personal experience and not the hostels fault. The hostel is what you’d expect from one, with the essentials you need
It’s a fine hostel to stay in Florence and quite well located. The facilities were also good with separate bathrooms and showers. I stayed at a 16 people mixed dorm, and although the amount of people, it didn’t feel suffocating or hot, due to the AC. From personal experience, there were times that i felt unsafe and quite anxious staying at a mixed dorm, yet that is not the hostels fault. It’s what...
i LOVED this hostel! despite the funky smells in the bathroom (not too bad though). the building itself is so gorgeous, with a lot of space and beautiful ceilings and floors. the room’s ensuite was tucked away enough to not disturb sleep, and had plenty of showers, toilets & sinks for the 9 other girls i shared the room with! the lockers were also relatively large. it’s also situated in a great location...
The guy at check-in was speedy and got into our rooms in short order. We booked the cheapest 22 person room, and it's much more tolerable than you'd think. Clean beds, ok showers, communal kitchen for basic cooking with pots and pans. Close proximity (2 blocks) to the bridge crossing the Arno River for all the sight seeing.
Stayed in the huge 22 bed room. Not actually as bad as expected, it's like a military barracks style but didn't actually get too stuffy. One big minus is there aren't any power outlets near the bunks. Everyone plugs into a power strip next to the door. Dealbreaker imo, for security and convenience (wake up alarms..)

Hostel Beautiful, Rome1 / 12

Rome, Via Milazzo 14 🧭 Map
The only reason it's not a 1/5 is because of the price and location. You get what you pay for, I guess. Not sure if it was just bad luck, but my room didn't have any hot water lol so um yea have fun showering at 2am. There is ZERO noise isolation from outside so the room is insanely noisy. No towel. The bunkbed's steps are shaky and noisy.
1 star for the location near Termini 2nd star: cheap, the receptionist was friendly 3 star: private bathroom, common room and a microwave. deductions: no warm water. I addressed the issue and someone was sent to fix it but it only lasted a day. I shower twice a day when I spend most of the day walking. stayed a few days and only two showers were warm. the rest was lukewarm at best. I think there was...
There's no hot water, and the kettle in the kitchen is too dirty to use.
There's no kitchen area and they need to turn on the heating.
It's fine. Maybe they should have sheets because the comforter only irritated me. It's also not good not having 24-hour reception, since if there's an issue, you can't call, make a complaint, or request a room change.
The bed is quite small, air conditioner isnt working well, kind of hot. Seperare bathroom in your room. The most stupid thing is there is a late check in fees even though you have contacted them through directly phone call.

We were accidentally ending up staying here for a night. The service is outragously good! We had some puppy friends in the morning. Bathrooms were acceptable (for average people it was clean, I am a professional, so I see details). The location has no public servixe access which is quite a lack for me. I can imagine it is a perfect stay for backpacker wonderers. I loved the decoration and the soul...
Cheers to y all!! Especially to Gabriel and Rita, we only had one night there but really felt at home with everyone there and had the best of times. Beds are comfy, good showers and a absolutely amazing staff!! We recommend 100%! Thanks again, we ll be back one day for sure! Gerome e Fortuna
Very convenient and good stay option with garden. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Beach is at 5 minutes walking distance.
One of the best Sunset 5 minutes away. Great staff members and very good accomodations. Thanks so much for everything
I really enjoyed my stay here. The breakfast was delicious, and I had plenty of space in the 10 bed dorm, and my bed was very comfortable. The hostel is in an ideal location, near the beach, nature and also shops. The staff were friendly and helpful, and sold me a bus ticket back to Pisa on my day of check out. If you are coming by bus from Pisa, organise yourself so that you know which bus ticket...
This upgraded hostel facility is an excellent venue for accessing the beach and local cycling trails in the area. Spacious rooms, friendly staff, a first class dining hall with professional chef and waiter, five minute walking distance to the beach, air conditioning, bicycle storage, and expansive lawn around the building are what characterize this facility. I liked the location, it is just perfect, city centre and 5 min walk from the train station. The price was reasonable. What I didn’t like is that the place absolutely uncomfortable to eat your meals, I don’t even mean to cook it, just warm up and have a cup of tea. There’s a microwave and a kettle on the ground floor, but there’s no shared dishes and cups, you could probably ask for plastic ones at...
A nice place to relax, good location! Professional work of the management staff, good approach to customers.
Pretty nice hostel with the great location. Modern style, cafe at the lobby, elevator, air conditioner. Stuff at the reception was great! Rooms was full. And as always available problems with uncultured roomates. Bonus: 6 person in single room and 6 different opinions about air conditioner :)
Seems to be the only big hostel around in Trieste. The location and service is absolutely fine, pretty good actually. But the rooms are a downer. 12 bed dorm with a tiny AC in one corner that definitely is not sufficient for the whole room. Tiny bathroom. The atmosphere in the hostel is a bit boring. Friday night a caraoke evening with almost no attendance (fully booked hostel), nothing on Saturday...
Staff was super nice. I only stayed one night, but found the shower situation slightly annoying (water everywhere in the bathroom after 30 seconds of showering). Unlike other comments say, they now allow you to stay in the bar without consuming anything as long as it’s not super busy, and there’s an outside area that you can be in without ordering anything
Decent for the price. Close to stations. Rooms are full, 12 people in a room. I got unlucky and had some very unpleasant and inconsiderate roommates (poor hygiene and snorers/multiple alarms that they didn’t turn off) The shower wasn’t great and bathroom was cramped. I didn’t shower there as it was a single night and I just needed a bed. Storage is spacious. Beds have poor privacy. There are big...

I was able to stay at this hotel for one night. It was a lovely stay! The location is absolutely perfect. It’s a 10-minute walk from the port (and therefore the Genoa Aquarium) and also from Piazza Ferrari. The rooms were clean, and so were the beds! I highly recommend it. Thank you.
Everything was absolutely great! The hostel has an incredibly friendly and cheerful staff — everyone smiles, helps with any question, and speaks good English. Breakfast is free and includes cereal with milk and toasts. There are three bathrooms with showers. The kitchen is very well equipped — you can cook anything you want! Great stay at Manena Hostel! I stayed at Manena Hostel and had a really good experience. The place was very clean and well-kept—especially appreciated how they dedicate time between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM for cleaning, which keeps everything fresh. This is a great and inexpensive hostel to stay at! It was super nice to have a free meal (pasta) cooked by Nonna and sit with the other travelers to eat. Reception was really nice and helpful, specifically Alex and Mimi!
We loved our stay at the hostel, it's a great base to explore Naples and you meet other young international people. Check in/out is really easy. I wasn’t expecting much considering some of the other reviews here, and I don’t necessarily agree with the age limit, but ignoring those things, I think this was one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Snug and quiet hostel in Florence. If you are looking for a social hostel, this is not the place for you. This is a calm hostel 5 minute walk from train station. Perfect location! They clean everything every day and they are very save, you have to show your key before you can come in! Only downside is that it has very thin walls so there is sound everywhere and the toilet seat was sort of broken.
The place is clean, nicely decorated and good attention from Enricco. Has free coffee machine and juices. Close to the train station of Florence. The lockers space are so good and better than other hostels I've stayed. The bed was really comfortable. I wish it only had that extra privacy with like curtains on the bed. They changed my hostel when I arrived there at middle of the night. But it was still a good substitute. I stayed at borgo ripa urban travel. It was better located. Rooms have single beds and no privacy like in the other dormitories. But still their staff was friendly and overall it was satisfactory experience. Good thing was it also had Beddit and water cleaning shower for toilets.
It was a great stay there as a solo traveler. The staffs were pretty friendly. Unlike the other hostel, they don't have any access card but their rooms and washroom are all have password and they will give you the password written in a paper.
Not very good experience. The room is not very tidy, and the air in toilet is not fresh as there is no window in the toilet. The mattress is very soft and cannot support me.
Receptionist quite friendly and helpful. The bed very good to sleep😁

Great hostel, very helpful receptionist and in that price this is the best place to stay in Rome. The rooms are large and very clean and it's quiet. Near to the termini station.
+ Good location (near main station) + Good room for the price - No towels (even for additional price, they just don’t have it). Quite dissapointed, cause in the pictures they show towels on beds. - Cold in the room, there were additional blankets in the wardrobe, but it was still cold - Room had a shower, but not a toilet. What's not to love from this hostel? It is really clean, the dormitory doesn't feel like a dormitory at all. Don't think that it will use the bunk bed that moves when the bunk mate is moving, nope. A really nice place. Been there on 2 different occasions and both times have been great. Very lively! The second time I did end up in a room with a guy that snored excessively, but that's not the hostels fault.
