Le Cale d’Otranto is the most amazing place in Puglia. We have stayed there for three times now, and we are eager to come back. The rooms are cozy and authentic with a charming terrace or a small yard. The food is fantastic. The entertainment holds high class singers, actors, dancers and athletes. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the metro station, making it super convenient to get to Milan Cathedral by subway or to walk to the train/high-speed rail station. The hotel has seen a lot better days. I am used to upkeep being different in Italy than it is in Germany, but this was something else. What was once a spa is now just decaying away basically. The only selling point it still has is a fantastic view over Lake Garda and the mountains on the other side of the lake.

The room was big and spacious; there was a double bed and a set of twin beds. There were two small balconies from which you could see the national library. The toilet was ok, the shower would flood and there was a wooden beam kinda hanging loose. Unfortunately, the room is not soundproof and you can hear the noise from the upstairs and neighbouring rooms (especially the toilet noises).
