Sophie Terrace Hotel in Rome

Beautiful ornate B&B by the Opera, close to the main train station in a very old building. Our room was huge and absolutely gorgeous, and the owner (Paolo) and his staff were super welcoming and lovely. The breakfast was large and varied. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Choosing this place to stay during our Rome vacation was based upon positive reviews. I did not realize it is only a three unit bed and breakfast until after the booking. It was my mistake for not taking more time to read, but definitely not my mistake for choosing it. The booking process was very easy and the owner contacted me right away about the arrival time. He could not be there for my late arrival but made arrangements. There was no mention of how to enter the building after the front door is locked for the evening. I found out later you must press #11 to make contact. Also, the phone number on my receipt did not work. The correct number was on all other documents, but unfortunately, I only had the receipt with me. Another couple happened along and let us in. The outside appearance and elevator look rough. In fact, the wife wanted to leave before entering. Once inside the room all doubts faded. It was very nice, actually better than the five-star hotel where we stayed in another Italian city. The host, Russell, was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simple but good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Another comment – the elevator has a double set of doors and will not function if the outer door is not completely latched. We had to walk the four floors of steps a few times because someone did not push it shut. Not a real problem, but aggravating if you are already tired from walking around Rome for hours. The location is great. Only five minutes from the Termini Station and within walking distance to most of the sites. If I ever go back to Rome the Armonia All’Opera B & B will definitely be considered.

Good Hotel near all the tourist sites in Rome, the room was clean and the hotel staff was very friendly!
