Hotel Philia Rome in Rome

The hotel is in a very old building and the floors and the lobby have been dirty. The hotel chef was very unfriendly, all of the other staff have been friendly. Breakfast isn't really good, just the coffe. Rooms are okay, but there are a lot of problems in the bathroom. For example the shower. The location is near to the Termini, but the streets around the hotel are messed. Can't recommend it.

Trash place, toilets suck and they put an extra bed in two-man rooms and called it a three-month room.

Rooms were in bad condition, room door wasn't fully working, got stuck in the elevator, fridge in the room barely kept beverages cold, very noisy (near to a bigger street), lots of garbage and rats in front of the hotel

Terrible design, mid july with air conditioning our of order and water not running but dripping. Officially, a 3-star hotel is much below standard.

There is 1 hour of free wifi daily which barely functions, for unlimited you have to pay aditional 4€. Breakfast is good as long as you come early because they dont refill the meat. Rooms are clean and staff is nice but rooms on floor 5 and 6 did not have hot water for a day and a half. I am giving them 2 star rating because it's below 3 star hotels even in Serbia.

Terribly cold and dirty hotel room! We had cockroaches in the room, after killing them they stayed on the floor for 3 more days showing the rooms are not cleaned at all. Heating did not work and requires you to get a remote at the reception. Bathroom terribly dirty and unmaintained. We payed €70 a night, for which we could have find a much better place in Rome.

Dear Sharon,
We stayed at your hotel over new years eve. When I went to the front office to ask for a remote for the heating as my room was ice cold (mid winter?!), I also told that person about the state of the room. I received however the response that the hotel was fully booked and I could not receive another room.
I am indeed 100% sure that I review he correct hotel yes.
I fully understand that the rooms should be cleaned on a daily basis. However, I can simply only write here what I observe. The floor was definitely not cleaned as noted by the cockroaches, nor were the towels/bed refreshed.
We stayed in this room 3 days as we were told the hotel was fully booked and this was new years eve so there were no alternatives.

I am not going into a discussion here, but please don't blame your guests for writing a (bad) review. Please do not try to blame all my bad experiences on myself and tell me that it's my own fault. Considering the average score of the hotel, and other guests' experiences, I do not think that my review is absolutely 'unbelievable' like you write.
