The hotel has a great location, the staff is very friendly and tries very hard.
Unfortunately, they do not have proper cooling, the air conditioner in the room heats more than cools. It is also interesting that a 4-star hotel has plastic service for breakfast.

Predatory, terrible management, and horrible desk service.

We booked two rooms through Agoda and received confirmation emails for both reservations. When we arrived at the hotel around 4:00 PM, the concierge immediately asked whether we had received “the email” from them. We had no idea what they were talking about because, surprise, we never received a cancellation notice.

They then informed us that our rooms had been canceled despite our confirmed booking. This left us scrambling to find an accommodation after an 4 hour train ride, with almost no notice and very limited options available.

The manager avoided speaking with us for as long as possible, hiding in his office while staff horribly dealt with the situation. When he finally spoke to us, he claimed the hotel was “sold out” and had been oversold. However, while standing there, we checked Agoda again and saw double rooms still being listed, but now for over $7,000. (pictured) We asked the desk staff why the hotel was fully booked when rooms were available, and he passively responded: "That's just for me to know"

It’s obvious what’s happening here: they allow guests to book at normal rates, cancel confirmed reservations, and then relist rooms at massively inflated prices to exploit desperate travelers when nearby hotels are fully booked.

To make matters worse, the hotel refused to assist us in finding alternative accommodation, effectively stranding us late in the day in a foreign country. It took us over two hours to finally find another hotel that could accommodate us, and we wasted more than 50 euros on taxi fares trying to sort out a situation entirely caused by their incompetence and greed.

Completely unacceptable behavior and one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Save your money for a place that actually values you!

The staff and service were very friendly and polite. The food at the breakfast buffet was good but not very “energy sustainable” (lack of protein and iron). But what ruined the experience was a non-functional air conditioning, that if you didn’t leave the window open all day and night the room becomes a sauna, non-existent wi-fi that just doesn’t let you connect, and when we first entered the room, the bathroom stunk of something so putrid that I had to close the door but the broken door wouldn’t shut - it rolled open every time. Definitely some things that could be fixed. Honestly, you could get something better for cheaper.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service during our stay. I had requested a twin bed upgrade, which was very important to us, and arriving at 2 AM to find we had been upgraded for free was a wonderful surprise that truly saved our night.

Furthermore, as a vegan/vegetarian, I was deeply impressed by the staff’s attentiveness. After informing them of our dietary preferences, they went above and beyond to prepare exclusive vegan desserts just for us. It was such a warm and thoughtful welcome.

The hotel was in an excellent location. A 15-minute walk from the Colosseum, right next to metro, bus, and tram stops. The price was very reasonable considering the season. The breakfast was very tasty, with a good selection of options that was neither too limited nor excessive.
What won us over about the hotel was that during our stay, we needed to have the toilet repaired. The response and repair time was truly amazing. We definitely recommend it, as the staff were friendly and very polite.

This Hotel turned out to be the biggest rip-off of my life. We booked through the hotel’s website and I was charged 3 times for the same room without receiving notification of the first two bookings for over a month. When I learned of the additional bookings and attempted to correct the problem I was told basically “too bad, not refundable.” Repeated emails and phone calls yielded no results only uncaring disregard. I was charged a total of $3000 dollars for 3 nights for a room that was not even the upgraded room I paid for. Reeked of bleach. Water on the floor in dangerous places from the AC. They even resold the rooms they charged me for as I overheard another guest ask to switch rooms and be told that they were sold out. The place would have had some charm if the staff had been a bit friendlier.

So sad. The room was ok, good bed, and shower. I was early so no room until 5, fair enough. I stored my luggage and took the ten-minute walk to the Coliseum. I had a nice lunch and damn near died in the 36c weather. F a coffee pod it would cost 2/3 euro. I passed as basic tea and coffee are generally included, I'm not paying extra.
I set a wake-up call with the front desk. They did not call. However, when my driver arrived they did call and stated the phones were not working. But if the phones are not working then how did they call me to say the driver was here? The Front desk person did grab a breakfast bag of goodies as I had to leave early so that was nice, and then charged me an extra 7.5 euro visitor tax. Just paid and left with my bag of juice box and yogurt. I'll try a different place next time.
Note: 10 min walk to coliseum.

Terrible service – avoid this hotel This hotel was a huge disappointment. The room was not clean, the staff was unprofessional, and any complaint was ignored. They do not respect guest rights or care about customer satisfaction. Definitely would not recommend

Metro, busses and tram right outside the hotel. The area around the hotel was safe. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows was excellent. It had a mini fridge and an espresso machine. Shower was nice with pressure water. There's an outside yard with a bar to relax. Breakfast was nice with a big quality to choose. The reception stuff were polite and helpful. Special thanks to Alexander at the bar outside.

Unfortunately, I had a deeply disappointing experience with Hotel Milton Rome. Due to the unexpected and heartbreaking passing of a close family member, I was forced to cancel my travel plans. I reached out to the hotel with the hope of understanding and support in such a delicate and painful moment. Sadly, I was met with a complete lack of empathy or flexibility. Despite providing proof and explaining the circumstances, the hotel refused to cancel the reservation in any way. While I understand that policies exist, I believe that human compassion should always come first, especially in situations involving the loss of a loved one. It’s truly disheartening when a hospitality provider fails to show even basic understanding during such a time. This experience has left me deeply disappointed, and I hope no other guest has to face the same insensitivity in a moment of grief.
