The room was small, as was the bathroom shower; the facilities were quite outdated. The hotel was a bit far from the train station. Breakfast was simple but inexpensive.

The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Termini Station, close to the British Embassy, and in a relatively quiet area. There are several restaurants nearby, including a decent Chinese restaurant. Buses run to the Colosseum and the Vatican (you need to walk a few hundred meters to the bus stop, and to buy tickets, walk a few hundred meters to the tobacco shop marked with a "T") and go to other areas. The hotel breakfast is decent, with bread, coffee, fruits, and vegetables—a standard Western breakfast. The rooms are of average size; my friend stayed in a double room, and its bathroom seemed a bit more spacious than the triple room I stayed in. Also, the hotel key card must be left at the front desk upon check-out each day. There is a city tax of €6 per person per day.

Hotel Montecarlo
We were in Rome in May 2025 for 4 days, stayed at Hotel Montecarlo, really liked the location, walking distance to the Colosseum, we used a taxi to the Vatican, but if you want, you can walk in about 40 minutes, the entire center is within walking distance, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps. The hotel itself is in an old beautiful house, very clean, no unpleasant odors, a modern elevator will take you to the 7th floor for breakfast. Good Wi-Fi.
The room has comfortable mattresses, the cleanest snow-white linen and towels, a bidet shower and shower accessories, good water pressure in the shower. The hair dryer is only old-fashioned, but new. The lighting in the room was a little lacking. The prices are expensive, but correspond to the center.
Nice friendly staff.
There are many cafes and restaurants around, everything is very tasty.

The room is very retro and clean overall. The service is very good. I asked the front desk to print an urgent document. The front desk was very welcoming.

The style of this hotel is classic European retro style. The old-style elevators, rooms, and front desk exude an ancient charm. Especially the front desk service makes people feel the butler-style service standards, which is just that kind of power. Breakfast is on the top floor and it is not bad. It is close to the train station and can be walked to, and the subway station is even closer. Although it is close to the train station, it gives people the impression that the public security is not good, but in fact, there is no need to worry, because there seem to be several government departments around, so there are armed soldiers and police standing guard and patrolling, so there should be no need to worry about public security.

It is the best location in Milan Central Station. The shower room is quite cramped, but it is a satisfactory accommodation for a solo male traveler.

They lied regarding accommodations. We arrived to discover that most of the listed amenities were not available. I wouldn't recommend lodging here if you plan on visiting Rome.
They also make you very uncomfortable by not allowing you to leave the hotel with a room key. If you want to go to your car to grab a phone charger, they force you to give your room key to them for "safe keeping". Not professional or reliable.

Alex who works as night shift was horrible, terrifying, worst, awful, rude, inpatient anything that can describe him as a hotel manger. I reserved for two nights and my all good experience at this hotel got ruined. He should be not working as a service manager. It was my time in Rome and I would not like to ever ever ever come bacl to visit. He was unpolite and told me to call the police if there was any miscommunication. What a bad experience that I had! Never stay at this hotel for any reason. It is not that cheap so go please look for another one if you can!!!

the hotel receptionist asked if I have bought tickets to colosseo, then I answered yes but not buying tickets for kids as I was told by my ticket agent that kid under 18 is free for entry. However, she told me it is not true and I need to buy ticket for kid under 18. I then bought through her. However the next day we checked with the staff at the entrance of colosseo, the staff told me my understanding is actually correct.
When I came back to hotel and asked for refund, then they also ddint know why kid under is free to entry and asked their ticket agents for explanation. The next day she mentioned she got the explanation that the kid ticket she was selling is actually for skipping the queue. However she did not tell this information at the first place and misinterpreted to me so we lost around 42 Eur for actually free tickets. We cannot use the priority kid tickets as we have already bought the normal adult tickets instead.

Please NEVER stay in this hotel. The location isn’t that well, lots of embassies close by. If you have large or heavy luggages good luck taking it to the room. You have to carry it up a few steps, then down a few. Rooms are very odd, at exactly 10 AM the A/C and lights cut off. There are very loud random noises in the morning, it’s very difficult to sleep. The breakfast service workers at the top floor are very aggressive, even 10 minutes before breakfast ends they will shout at you saying breakfast has ended. Even though breakfast ends, they ask for the room number. Basically no amenities in the bathroom, like shampoo or conditioner. Never leave your room key in the room because there is only one copy. You always have to drop it off at the reception or else you have to wait for the receptionist to get the key and take you back to your room. If you ask them for directions to locations nearby like the colosseum, they will aggressively rip out a map and start writing on it. I don’t know how this hotel is a 4 star. Don’t stay here.
