Monteverdi Resort in La Spezia

The room was very clean; they even added an extra blanket the next day when they knew we were cold. It was also very safe; my LV bag wasn't stolen even though I left it in the room. It's 300 meters from the station, about a 5-minute walk. You could stay here if you're going to Cinque Terre.

The most helpful and kid host and staff. Giovanna went above and beyond communicating and making great suggestions for my stay.

The location is excellent, very near the station if you plan to use this as your base station to visit Cinque Terre and surroundings.

Restaurants, souvenir stores, pharmacy and supermarkets are very near, within 5-6 minutes from the apartment.

Even though the place itself is a bit outdated, the bed and pillows were so comfortable.

Great location being a short walk to the train station and great food and bars. The room was one of many in a large city building. Our hostess was lovely and helpful.

The rooms are on the 0th floor by European standards, so the floor is very cold. The view from the window is onto the inner courtyard-well with a garbage dump - you can't even see what the weather is like outside. Due to the lack of sun and air, the room is very humid, things don't dry at all, due to the cold in the bathroom, moisture condenses right on the walls and there is a layer of water on the floor and walls all over the room. There is a window in the bathroom, but for several days it was never dry there. The heaters didn't work and in September at +22 outside it was cold. I chose it based on good reviews about the owners, but we didn't see them at all for 3 days. The location is good, 10 minutes to the train station, but next time I will definitely look for something else.

Great hotel! The room had a comfy bed and pillows. I loved that there was a desk and chair. The room is really dark and quiet at night. Close to the train station so easy to get to Cinque Terre. Make sure to contact the hotel before checking in since there is no one on-site. I had trouble checking in because of this. Also, I had trouble with the wifi working/staying connected.

Spacious room. Very close to train station. Hostess was absolutely marvellous, she suggested I visit Portovenere and it turned out to be a nice trip.
