My husband and I absolutely loved staying at this hotel. The owners are so welcoming and kind. You can tell they really love what they do. We appreciated that it felt like we were staying with family. Our room (#10) was gorgeous, and we enjoyed having direct access to the terrace. We loved the coffee machine and little cakes we got each morning. The bed was very firm, which we absolutely loved! We slept so well here because the room was dark, the hotel was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Florence!

I stayed at this boutique hotel at the beginning and end of my tour of Tuscany and Umbria. If I visit Florence again, I will definitely want to stay here again. The hosts were quite accessible, friendly, and helpful. I especially appreciated that Carmen is from the US and so it was an easy introduction for my first visit to Italy. The shared bathroom was just a few steps away from my room and is actually two bathrooms and was always available. The hotel is on a quiet street sufficiently distanced from the crowds that are just a few blocks away. My room was cozy and the bed quite comfortable. I appreciated the sink and mirror in a corner of the room. The large patio with lots of places to sit and relax was a real bonus. I highly recommend this hotel.

I come to Florence any chance I get, but not often enough. I always stay at Ill Bargellino whether travelling alone or with others. The location is near the train station but an easy walk to the center. Carmel and Pino are the perfect hosts; a friendly welcome and always helpful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and with antique furniture. The rooms off the terrace are my favorite, providing a delightful place to read, socialize and sip wine after a long day of wandering Florence.

Nothing but good things to say about this family-run hotel located in a residential neighborhood near the Mercado Centrale not far from the train station, and walking distance to all the sites. The rooms are very nice, plenty of room, and some open to a lovely rooftop patio (which is open to all). So nice to have outside space to relax in. The rooms have refrigerators, comfortable beds, and are nicely furnished. And the artwork!!! There is artwork throughout the hotel, so much to appreciate. In a city filled with gorgeous art, coming home to an art-filled hotel just felt right. Everything is kept very clean, we felt very taken care of. Carmen and Pino are on premises and are welcoming and helpful, and provide site-seeing and dining recommendations. We recommend this hotel highly and hope to return!

Absolutely incredible experience here. The rooms, terrace, and space is lovely.

The owners are wonderful, and even a day after we had checked out they made a serious effort to help us when we were stranded in Florence due to train cancellations. We are extremely grateful for their kindness, and wholeheartedly recommend everyone stay here to experience Bargellino.

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. Our family of four stayed here for four nights. The bathroom was large and the room accommodated us comfortably. Carmel and Pino were wonderful hosts, and we enjoyed the terrace every night. We would definitely recommend and plan to stay here again.

Very friendly owners! They invited us to their terrace party. Our room was lovely but the noise from the street was quite loud in the night.

My husband and I stayed here while honeymooning thru Europe in July 2007. My husband and I loved the house and found Carmel and Pino to be lovely, welcoming, warm, extremely friendly people. We kept in touch a few years later, we even got a gift from Carmel when we had our first baby 3 years later. We would definitely go back as we felt like family when we were there. ??
