A Teatro in Florence

We paid for two nights in the B&B „A Teatro“ in advance and were denied to stay there. Due to problems at the main train station in Bologna we unfortunately couldn’t check in on time (we would’ve been 50 minutes late). We called the owner immediately and explained our situation. He was very rude on the phone and hung up on us. As we‘d already paid for two nights we went to the B&B the next day to check in. The owner was verbally and physically aggressive towards us m. He grabbed my arm and pushed us out of the entrance. He was very scary and threatened to call the police immediately. It was not possible to talk with him in peace. Our travel agency tried to talk to the owner about this instance too, no reply. As other comments show, this is not the first instance like that at “A Teatro”. I have never had an encounter like this before….still shocked!

First of all it's not a b&b because it doesn't serve breakfast . Secondly the mattresses were so old that the springs were all broken so we couldn't have any sleep. Thirdly when we pointed out the problem our message was ignored. Fourthly when you're showing, you end up with only cold water in just few minutes. Last but not least the noise was extremely loud ,no sound proofing or double glaze . I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND

Noisy until 2am due to bars downstairs incl. Monday, noise starts at 10PM, single glazed window does nothing for it. Also no light insulation if you can't sleep with light, 6am sun in summer. Everything else fine.

How was our experience, I will let you decide for yourself :

- We landed in Roma and were stuck in huge traffic and arrived at the hotel at 22:30.
- Couple of 69 years old people, first time in Italy standing in front of a hotel and no one opening the door!
- We are calling tens of times till 1 am and NO ONE ANSWERED
- Day after we came to the hotel after staying the night in another hotel and the Hotel OWNER even didn't want to talk to us. He just updated us by phone of the security guy that our reservation was canceled by him.

You can imagine what we felt, put yourself in our place, and say if this is the way to host people.
But it's not all, however, we hadn't slept even a single moment in the hotel we have been CHARGED by all 4 nights!!
Even no apology call or attempt to assist.

The only reason to come to this hotel or send your relatives is if you want to ruin your vacation. We will continue sharing our experience with the travel community and will try to reach Booking.com executives as this way A Teatro B&B treat people is AGAINST their culture.

The worst experience I have ever had. They cancelled my reservation when I was already in Florence and charged the full fee. No one to talk to.

Horrible experience, stay away of this place as far as you can. The property owner cancelled our reservation for 4 pre-paid nights and didnt want to talk to us, never gave back the money.
