Having stayed at the Antica Dimora Johlea some time ago, we were delighted to see that it is still as comfortable and charming as ever. Our room was perfectly laid out and well looked after it being cleaned every day. The roof terrace was a favorite place on which to relax. We were given very useful information on delightful places to eat locally and also venues of interest in various parts of Florence. The Antica is situated in a quiet part of town but not far from the centre. We are already planning another visit !!

Don’t be put off by the entrance hall and small lift, this is a well run, very good value accommodation close to San Marco and walking distance to all major sites in central Florence. There’s a roof terrace and honesty bar. You could cook for yourself too. Comfortable bed and very clean.

Great location and great price. It’s a very simple but clean room. The bathroom was spotless. Close to the historic center. You could hear the nuns singing prayers throughout the day, which I really enjoyed and found soothing. The nuns were very kind and helpful. They allowed us to store our luggage until we were ready to leave.

An excellent, super friendly host, very responsive to any concerns and took his time to show and explain everything to us, including some excellent dining options. Room was clean and area was safe.
Very walkable area, about a 15 minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes to the Duomo.
They even had umbrellas available for us when it rained the one day! Highly recommended.

The hosts are AMAZING! They are so informative, helpful and sweet. The rooms are nice, and the roof top space is incredible! We spent every night on the roof enjoying the views! We HIGHLY recommend this place for your stay in Florence.

Great location to visit the center, while sleeping in a quiet place. Nice recommendations from the owner, we tried 2 of the restaurants, they were worthy. The room was a bit small, the bathroom simple and small too but the bed very comfy and cosy due to the baldaquino.

We stayed in their other location a couple of buildings away, so our experience didn't match the pictures shown on this place.

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing due to the unprofessional and rude behavior of the management. When we checked in, the manager explicitly told us that we could use the common space. Taking him at his word, we sat there with our two friends to enjoy a coffee the day after. However, after about 30 minutes, the manager and his wife arrived and shockingly started insulting our friend who happened to be using the bathroom, claiming that the common area was not meant for our friends. Their behavior was aggressive and completely unacceptable. The manager even accused us of "sneaking into his house," which was absurd since we were in a hotel where we had paid to stay. This confrontation left us feeling unwelcome and deeply offended. The day earlier, the manager had offered to book a table for us at a local restaurant he suggested. He explicitly messaged me that the booking was done and we should simply say the hotel's name when we arrive. It turned out that no reservation had been made. While the restaurant did manage to seat us, the food was below average, and the staff was rude and unfriendly—far from the "good recommendation" we were promised. Overall, this experience left a very negative impression and ruined the good vibes of our trip to Florence.

The pictures depicted on the website are deceptive. This is unfortunate because people who make reservations, like myself, have an expectation that does not align with the reality of the accommodations. It's okay to convert the upper level of a building with poor lighting and a precariously tiny elevator to a series of small bedroom rentals with no bureaus and stained textiles, but this is not what the website images portray. Please note: this facility is not a bed and breakfast and it is typically not staffed. My strong recommendation to the management is to have honest pictures of the rooms. If I had not paid in advance (my mistake) I would have left. I understand that tourism is a problem in Florence, and based on the graffiti all over the city, anarchy is a going concern, but Italy is a first-world country and businesses should behave accordingly.

It’s great. The hosts were always prompt to help. They communicated with us via WhatsApp since even before we arrived. It is clean and close to the main attractions (20-25 mins to the farthest one). We really recommend it… many thanks to Florencia (one of the hosts - she was very helpful to us).
