UNIZO INN in Sapporo

Room is adequate, typical Japanese hotel room, hot water bath tub turn onsen, free yes, free other amenities. Location is perfect, right in front of tram, and quick entrance to their underground walkway. This is extremely useful during winter time, bcos the road on surface is full of snows and icy road. The underground can go to either odori station or Sapporo station. Very convenient in deed for the location of this hotel. The staff though are superbly unfriendly. Can't speak proper English, and have that typical egoistic youngters hippy style. Must book room online, even you walk in they refused to take your reservation.

Stayed here for 8 days. Rooms are small but it’s ok because i think that’s just the Japanese style. Service is low because they don’t clean rooms everyday, it has to be every 3 days. When it was the 3rd day, asked the housekeeper to clean it because she was outside our room, and she said she’ll clean tomorrow(when it’s already our 4th day that time). I just want hotels that clean daily because that’s what we paid for. Another is, as a tourist, of course we’d need help around, right? I asked a lady in the front desk how to get to a place, she was not that friendly in helping. Koko hotel is an ok hotel. Spot is near famous spots in Sapporo. The staff are just not friendly hence the low rate on service.

I am currently staying here, Oct 3-9. American that does not speak the language. Hotel staff, front desk does not speak English so communication is not good. I am here because my wife was hospitalized after a fall on a cruise ship and will have surgery tomorrow. This was the closest I could find to stay on very short notice, about 5 to 6 miles away from the hospital. Restaurant is misleading in that this is a pizza buffet place on the second floor that becomes the temporary breakfast area in the morning. Food is scarce the times I've been... ie, no one is refilling the various food stations and especially the coffee. I end up eating a few pancakes and fried egg yokes with some soda from the soda machine. Hardly a breakfast for any culture. Paid about $10 extra per day for this. Given the breakfast let down, would not advise eating here at night when its a pizza place. You are better off walking down to the Family Mart and buying a sandwich, which are good and reasonably priced. Rooms are okay, small by any standard. Quiet at night. Semi-comfortable bed with 2 small pillows (there is a pillow shortage apparently) TV has but 8 channels or so - nothing that connects the traveler to the world. Bathroom is an odd 12" step up into affair. Very small...smaller than a cruise ship. Small tub (slippery inside), that has a high step over so apparently you can bathe in it. Could be disastrous if you are up during the night and returning to bed and forgetting there is a huge drop off when you step out of the bathroom. I suppose this is a handy location but not for my purposes. At this price point I'm certain you can find larger rooms with much better breakfast arrangements. Perhaps if you are a local traveler this hotel is acceptable but for the American and European traveler it is not language friendly, space friendly or food friendly.

You can get a good deal. However the carpet in the room was really dirty. The stains were visible. I think management should clean the carpets.
