Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto-Hachijoguchi in Kyoto

Stayed at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto - Hachijoguchi and had a great experience. The location is excellent—just a short and easy walk from Kyoto Station. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist.

The room was comfortable and well-maintained. I also liked that all the amenities are provided at the lobby and you can take what you need anytime. Very convenient! There’s also a convenience store right next to the hotel, which made everything even easier.

Overall, a very pleasant stay and I would definitely come back again.

The location is convenient, close to Kyoto Station. The room was clean, and the amenities downstairs were well-equipped. However, the room was a bit small, with the foot of the bed very close to the wall, making it difficult to open luggage.

The room was spacious and very clean. There's a laundry room on the first floor. All the disposable toiletries, including hair masks, are available for free. It's a five-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and there's a convenience store right downstairs. Getting around from here is super convenient! Plus, there's a Coco Ichibanya curry restaurant next door.

Loved the hotel location. Right next to Lawson, Avantis Mall and 5mins walk from Kyoto Station Hachijo East Exit. Easy for travelling around Kyoto. Room is decent size, I brought a 28inch luggage. Would stay here again if I return to Kyoto. Good value for money.

Just 30 mins away to Arashiyama.
Lawson, Family Mart are very close.

The hotel is located at the Hachijo East Exit. You'll see it right after crossing the street from McDonald's. There's a convenience store downstairs, and the breakfast is excellent and highly recommended. You can purchase breakfast when checking in, which is done via a self-service machine. The bathroom is quite spacious. One issue I had was with room 520, where the bathtub leaked. It wasn't a problem for showers, but even when I filled the tub for a bath and the water didn't go above the overflow, it still leaked. As soon as I stepped out, my feet were ankle-deep in water. By the time I got dressed to go to the front desk, the water had already seeped away, leaving the bath mat soaking wet. Since I was only staying two nights, I decided not to bother changing rooms. I'm not sure if this is an issue in other rooms. Also, when exiting Kyoto Station from the West Exit, first take the north-south passage, then look for Hachijo East. If you mistakenly think 'east' is just directly opposite 'west,' you'll end up walking in circles—a lesson learned after 40 minutes of wasted time! It would be much more convenient if the hotel could suggest to the station to add a sign for the Hachijo East Exit.

Very convenient location especially if you take the airport limousine bus from KIX. Also a short walk from the South Gate or Hachijo East Exit of Kyoto Station. Highly recommend staying here as there are many buses departing from Kyoto Station to tourist sites.

Front desk staff are very helpful but were strict about the 3pm check-in time.

The toiletries are placed at the hotel lobby but some items like the sheet masks tend to run out fast. The hotel also provides pyjamas but we decided against using them as we saw hair on the two sets that we collected from the lobby.

Finally, we greatly enjoyed the hotel breakfast every morning! Great way to sample a variety of Kyoto-style food.

The hotel facilities are complete, comfortable, and cozy, with a beautiful environment. The service attitude was excellent, very friendly and attentive. It's very convenient, only a seven or eight-minute walk from the station. A very satisfying stay.

The room is a bit small, but considering its location next to Kyoto Station and the higher price compared to nearby options, it's understandable. We could still fit two 24-inch suitcases open. The breakfast is a must-try; it's delicious and offers a great variety. It's about an 8-minute walk to the station. There aren't many restaurants around, but there are some. The toiletries are plentiful, and the shower water pressure is excellent. The overall cleanliness and environment are good. If the price is right, this place is definitely worth considering.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk from Kyoto Bus Station, which is incredibly convenient!

Service: The front desk service was fantastic, very warm and attentive!

Cleanliness: The hygiene was good; everything was kept very clean throughout my stay.

Breakfast: The buffet breakfast was super extensive and tasted great! I highly recommend adding breakfast during your stay! You can easily buy breakfast vouchers at the self-service machine at the front desk anytime.
