I give them a 10/10 rating, but I should mention one issue. I paid tax twice—the staff asked for a tax payment, even though the online payment I made earlier already included taxes. This was a bit disappointing

The hostel is very nice and modern. Good location in the heart of Kyoto but a bit distant from subway stations and buses. Yet still easy to travel to famous tourist spots in the city. Cabin was standard size with nice common areas at basement. Large storage room allowed you to keep luggages before checking in and during your stay which is a plus . Facilities in hostel were very good. Staffs are very nice & friendly.

I loooove Piece Hostel Sanjo! The staff is super helpful, its in a very good location whereby you'll reach the train station or bus stop in less than 10 mins by foot! The room is actually quite spacious and I love the area that you can just hang out to eat your kombini meals or people watch! Didnt use the rooftop at all though cos its winter and having breakfast (that you pay for) is convenient when you dont wanna plan! The luggage storage area is awesome, btw! Missing this place already!

The beds were incredibly comfortable, the common lounge was exceptionally luxurious, and the restrooms were very well-maintained. The only downside was the location, as it's a bit far from the subway line.

The hotel's location is great, surrounded by various small shops, and there's a cozy bar downstairs. The hygiene is good too. It's a shame I could only book one night; when I tried to extend my stay the next day, there were no rooms available.

Super cool design - the Japanese architecture and interior design are amazing! The location is excellent and very convenient! The staff are polite and willing to help. Because it's a hostel, the shared spaces are large and beautiful. The West Building has computers for internet access, a fully equipped kitchen (where guests can cook), and a lounge/reading area – it’s truly ZEN and very modern! The only drawback is that the rooms are small, just a washbasin, bed, and bathroom. There's no table, chairs, or any space to sit. But I guess that just encourages everyone to go out and explore or socialize downstairs and meet new people 😉

Lovely service and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Delightfully cosy inside, and also the music was great!

My rating is for the ryokan experience, which is incredibly accommodating and comfortable. The room was roomy and the bed soft and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make our whole stay as easy and relaxing as possible. Me and my girlfriend stayed six nights and had a lot of heavy luggage, and after checkout the staff called a taxi, sat us down and gave us hot coffee while we waited, and then gave us an umbrella and loaded our luggage into the taxi.

Easy going, simple and nice. Menu isn't very diverse but that's ok, food/beer combination is well thought about. There are 2 tables next to the entrance (at the right) which are facing sun in the afternoon, it's particularly good in summer.

Cute café and mix of ryokan. Nice selection of craft beers. Bit on the expensive side tho, 900 yen for a craft pint.

Came across this restaurant and notice that is a hostel and cafe mix. When I went in, there was a lot of people so I felt that the food is probably good and I was right! The lunch menu has around 5 choices and I decided to take the smoked pork. I didn't regret a thing!
At first I thought the portion was small but I was wrong and it was filling! The smoked pork has a really nice texture and the sauces is sweet with a tingly taste. I would go back and try the others!
