KKR Kyoto Kuniso in Kyoto

This was such wonderful surprise. We booked specifically for the ryokan and it didn’t disappoint. The room was huge, the biggest room we had experienced in Japan and it had a fantastic view of the Kamo River and the stepping stones. There wasn’t a lot of English spoken but they gave us excellent printed instructions and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We loved this hotel and it gave us a genuine Japanese experience, especially the breakfast which was very traditional and delicious. The onson was beautiful, it took my western brain a little bit to get over the shyness but in the end totally worth it. It is also only about 7 to 10 minute walk from the subway station and about 5 minute walk to the Kyoto National Gardens. It is also surrounded by really great little restaurants. I would absolutely stay here again.

The room was actually quite large compared to other hotels. It was located near the back, making it quite quiet. It's right by the Torii River, filled with birdsong and flowers, and bustling with people jogging and walking. There's a public bath available. The breakfast was excellent, with customizable set menus, each with a different setting, giving it the feel of a fine-dining restaurant. The subway and bus are nearby, connecting directly to popular attractions. My room didn't face the Torii River, probably because I booked a relatively affordable price. Being near the Torii River is certainly a plus.

The room is relatively small, but basically meets the needs. The location is very good and public transportation is very convenient

Just look for hot springs. Although it seems to be a bit different from the hot spring experience I expected, it just feels like soaking in a hot pool. 1,400 is definitely expensive in China, but in Japan, I’m not sure. I haven’t tried anything else. There are only hot springs and no other facilities (sauna and the like). Compared to business hotels, the room is still big enough (I may be used to PUA rooms in Japan). The room I chose opened the window and faced the Kamogawa River. It would be nice if I could choose a room. The room I was given was 301, which was just blocked by a tree. If you go to a higher level, you can overlook the Kamogawa River.

I live in tatami mats. The room is the largest room for tourists in Japan. The room is very clean. We have to catch the Shinkansen the next day. The hotel booked a taxi for us. The service is very good and the environment is quiet. Just try not to go out when it is late. The location Still a bit off, not many pedestrians on the road

It is a hotel with some history, but it is well maintained.
The facilities are clean and tidy.
The staff at the front desk is very helpful.
The meal was good.

Had a great time in KKR, it is so clean, all though I felt the personnel wasn't as professional as in other places but they were still very kind and made my stay so enjoyable.

This was our first time at a ryokan, and found it to be a great experience! The onsen was the main reason we chose to stay at KKR. It was clean and had all of the necessary amenities (and had the​ instructions in English which was very helpful). We stayed in the Japanese style room and found it very comfortable. Another great perk was the buffet breakfast - it was delicious!
