The staff at the information centre were super friendly. Our accommodation was cozy with a stream flowing right in front. There are small hikes to Waterfalls and other viewpoints. There are bikes, walking sticks, etc. available on rent. There are 2 restaurants, one near the info centre which has a decent menu and another called "Shopan" which has limited Kazakh menu.

Overall, our stay was very relaxing.

Hotel Pana Kolsai has a stunning location near Kolsai Lake, but the service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. After a long journey, we arrived at check-in time only to find the restaurant fully booked for a private function, leaving no food options. When we asked for help, the staff were clueless and suggested we walk 4.5 km down a mountain to the lake. Finally, after much arguing, we got a ride down. But the nightmare didn’t end there! After dinner, in freezing cold and pitch darkness, we tried to get back to the hotel, but no car was sent. We were told to walk back up the mountain! After an hour of waiting in the cold, they finally sent a car, but only after we were told to sit with the luggage. The staff were rude and unhelpful, making this a truly unforgettable experience for all the wrong reasons. Avoid this hotel!

Nice location in the mountains, not many hiking possibilities at the site, decent restaurant with terrible service, various fast food shacks. Reception speak some English, some shops selling tourist tack. The place is very crowded - i guess 300+ people during the day. the one toilet black is locked up at night so you have to use the bushes....
People drink heavy and party until dawn, it has very little to do with nature / wildlife

+ The staff was very nice and available. They offered us their shower as we stayed three days and even though the description said there was a shower no shower was given to us.
- Most of the services declared in the description weren't there: no wifi, no shower, no shared bathroom but public bathroom with anyone visiting the park, no cups for drinking, no water, no towels and no soap. There was a bed, a boiler and electricity.

Stunning View, But an Absolute Disaster of a Stay

We booked Kolsay Nomads (Pana Kolsay) hoping for a memorable experience, but it turned out to be a complete disaster.

Yes, the view was beautiful — but that’s where the positives end. From the moment we arrived, there was no assistance for reaching the resort, no proper communication, and no one to guide us.
We were left waiting around for reception, which only appeared after 20 minutes. There was no Wi-Fi, no mobile network, and no effort from the staff to make us feel welcome.
Even basic things like a kettle had to be asked for, and when it finally came, it didn’t even have a glass to use with it.
The staff seemed indifferent, almost as if guests were an inconvenience.

For a place in such a remote location, you’d expect at least some hospitality and preparedness, but instead, it felt like we were completely on our own.
The scenery might tempt you, but the service, comfort, and hospitality were far below even basic expectations. Definitely not worth the money and not an experience I’d ever repeat.

I just finished my 3 days trip with my wife and we had an amazing time. We booked the stay via booking and they didn’t replied our message on the website where we ask to do an early check in as we were landing at 4.00 am. As they didn’t replied we try calling or sending WhatsApp and they didn’t reply as well, so we just went around 8 am and they didn’t seem to notice we even had booked the room, however they gave a us the room we booked for and they let us do the check in at 8am.
This 3 days we were there, there were friendly and helpful, asking all the day if we needed anything, and being present. We made 2 barbecues during our stay, we did hikings, we ate at their restaurant and all was more the good. Room was amazing. Not wifi in the facilities but we bought a sim car with unlimited internet and we were more than fine.
They don’t see to pay much attention to google, or any plataform. But they really pay attention to their place, was immaculate. He did saw staff cleaning the place around 5 am. We love it there. Pictures on the website are 100% real. Highly recommended.
