Tau-House Hotel in Almaty

I have visited Tau Spa three times before during the winter holiday season, and this time we decided to experience it in the summer. We visited as a family with our three children. Below are my observations and suggestions. I sincerely hope the hotel and spa management will take these comments into consideration and make the necessary improvements to enhance the guest experience.

First of all, because it was a weekend, the facility was extremely crowded. I believe there should be a limit on the number of guests admitted. The pools were so crowded that there was barely any sunbed to move, and all the sunbeds were fully occupied.

Secondly, I noticed exposed electrical cables around some of the lighting fixtures near the pools. This is a serious safety concern and should be properly secured as soon as possible.

Another major issue was the flooring around the pools. The surface becomes extremely slippery when wet. My daughter slipped and fell I saw many people several times during our visit, and we also witnessed several other people falling. I am sure this is something that happens frequently. The flooring around the pools should either be replaced with a non-slip surface or treated with a proper anti-slip solution to prevent accidents.

Some of the pools, especially the VIP pool area, were not clean. This may have been due to the large number of visitors, but cleanliness should never be compromised, regardless of how busy the facility is.

The biggest disappointment for us was accessibility. On my previous visits I did not have a stroller, but this time we came with our baby. There are no ramps, lifts, or proper accessible paths for strollers or guests with disabilities to reach the pool areas. I honestly wonder how wheelchair users or guests with mobility challenges are expected to access these facilities. This is something that urgently needs improvement.

On the positive side, the spa facilities themselves are very good, and we really enjoyed them. We also ordered the shashlik, and the portion size was generous. I don't have any major complaints about the food, although the Greek salad could have been prepared with a little more care. It was simply chopped into cubes without any dressing or presentation.

The food service was surprisingly fast despite the large crowd, and I appreciate that. However, I believe the issues regarding overcrowding, safety, cleanliness, and accessibility deserve immediate attention. Addressing these concerns would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

I hope these comments are taken as constructive feedback, because Tau SPA has great potential and I would genuinely like to see it continue to improve.

It was perfect but I think it is greedy and stingy not to include a proper americano in the breakfast buffet after all I paid...

Overall service can be improved for international visitors.

Bad, unmotivated and poorly organized service everywhere. Have received an eye roll more than once when asked completely normal questions, such as placing an order, paying an invoice, etc.
However, the facility is very beautiful and is constantly well maintained. The newly renovated rooms are wonderful.
