The location is perfect, the building is very iconic with strong Soviet Modernism architecture. The breakfast is amazing. The staffs are helpful. Highly recommended!
Room is small but overall location cleaning service food everything is perfect
It was a pleasant stay. The breakfast has a good spread amd hotel has a beautiful ambience and views.
Location was quite central with lots of supermarket and food options nearby. The room looks like it was newly renovated. The toilet has heated floors but it was small and space was very tight. We were given a late check out on our last day but it was very noisy during the day; it sounded like drilling work coming from the floor above. The buffet breakfast was quite substantial.
Very good hotel , room good , bed good , staff good breakfast great … all good , recommend
The hotel's location is excellent, and the breakfast is incredibly rich. It's a local landmark; you can spot both the hotel and the TV tower from the airplane. Our triple room consisted of two bedrooms, offering views of the distant snowy mountains.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was a comfortable stay with great rooms and restraunt.
The hotel manager Mr. Tamer was very hospitable and gave personal attention to each guest.
Thank you so much...Holiday Inn, Almaty.
The room quality is comparable to a budget hotel in China, quite dated. To my surprise, they didn't even provide complimentary bottled water; you either had to buy it or boil your own using the in-room kettle. The only upside was the free international power adapter provided in the room.
Great stay option in Almaty City for tourists. Good rooms, super amazing Breakfast- Massive Spread with Several Vegan options too.
Luxurious Decor and amazing helpful staff. Special Thanks to front desk Supervisor Mr. Bahitzan and Restaurant Host Mr Shobi Tamer.
The front-desk service was excellent, fluent English and smooth communication. On my first day they even helped me sort out small change for a taxi and provided useful sightseeing tips. The location is convenient, with a shopping mall right across the street, and the room was clean up standard.
Very nice hotel. Stay here several times. Good balance between quality, comfort and price.
Very professional customer service. Breakfast options are great. Reasonable pricing and walkable to city center.

Old, but good location and service.
Very good property at good location
Overall is good, I stay with my family. Everything was good, except internet. It is interrupted frequently.
Room is nice and clean, location is ok, shower can be improved, overall good value!
Good hotel staff are Adament , can’t even stretch time from 7am to 6.45 am
As we have to catch flight and asks then to give some juice or fruits but they rejected , and all
Our money for breakfast is go in vain

The hotel environment is clean and quiet, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bedding is spotless. The service is warm and efficient. Its excellent location makes getting around easy, and the amenities are complete. It offers great value for money and is perfect for business travelers.
Everything is excellent with nice stuffs, clean room, good breakfast. The hotel is located really near the subway station.
The surrounding scenery changes with the seasons. The Almaty Hotel is conveniently located, clean, and has a great environment. From the room's balcony, you can see the snow-capped mountains 🏔, and waking up to that view feels wonderful and very relaxing. The breakfast is also good.
Our 2 nights stay in this hotel is pretty good, location is also very convenient. Just 5mins walk to a 24hrs supermarket, Almaly subway Pubs and some eatery like Rumi which is their popular local food chain. Rooms are comfortable, toilet is clean n new, breakfasts is pretty good. Just a bit disappointed because i stated during my booking that it is my wedding anniversary trip, so usually Hotels will...
I loved the room with a view of the snowy mountains! I could lie in bed and watch the sunrise and sunset over the mountains. The breakfast was also excellent.
It was a very hotel with good staff. My room felt a bit aged but was clean. Was impressed with the hotel overall and would definitely recommend to others.

1. This hotel is pretty much like a budget hotel in China – small rooms and very basic facilities. I strongly do not recommend it.
2. The room doesn't provide drinking water, and there isn't a convenience store nearby, so the only way to get water is from the dispenser in the hallway.
3. The service attitude was also just okay, not worth the price.
Novotel Almaty City Centre Hotel.
Set in the heart of Almaty City, a few hundred feet from the iconic Soviet era Khazakstan Hotel and 20 to 30 minutes from Almaty Airport, this Novotel is modern, clean and with all the usual, essential amenities.
Only one main downside is the room aircon is set by the hotel during winter months to run warm. It cannot be adjusted in the room so it became too hot and...
Great location, and the breakfast was good.
Facilities: Feels like a relatively new hotel for the area.
Cleanliness: Pretty good. I had lower expectations after reading reviews for other hotels, so it was actually fine.
Service: Decent.
Overall, it's a good 4-star hotel, and it even has a pool (though I didn't use it). The breakfast was just okay, but that might be typical for the local area. It's also very close to the subway.
Everything was good..staff is friendly..service was great..
Located right next door to the Kok-Tobe cablecar station, and in walking distance to lots of good cafes and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and the service was friendly and professional. Breakfast was a little crowded and understaffed (some empty breakfast options and lots of dirty plates etc), so I recommend going to breakfast earlier. However, this didn't affect my stay, and I would...

This hotel is very business-oriented and compact. It's not too far from the airport, about a 30-minute drive. The room design is also good, with everything you need, though the bed was really soft, almost feeling like it sagged.

The hotel has certainly seen better days, but offers a unique Soviet-style architecture that anyone interested in art and history would appreciate. The location is also excellent.
GOOD
- Hotel is clean and in a good location
- Reasonably priced and you can negotiate a rate if you extend
- Lots of space in the lobby and each floor if you don't want to stay in your room
NEEDS IMPROVING

Clean rooms, terrible shower. To get WiFi you have to get your device registered at the front desk. Good breakfast. Great location. Across the park and cathedral
Old Sovjet hotel with lots of history within its walls. It has definitely seen better days but its a cool hotel to stay in, although it seems to be a little empty. Rooms are good, nothing to complain about, and as a bonus you have a little balcony with views over the 28 soldier park.

This was our last stop hotel from the 5 Stans tour with Lupine Travel. This hotel is very spacious, Soviet like atmosphere with dark hardwood furniture. Water stations on every floor which was nice. WiFi is weird, go through the front desk. Don’t worry about taxi to the airport as they will order it for you 10 mins before departure. Walking distance to eating places

Very average. The big plate chicken for breakfast was good, though. I think chain hotels are more reliable.
Very good, comfortable, convenient, and quick. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time.
It was -16 degrees Celsius outside, but the room was only 15 degrees and there was no underfloor heating. The room was too cold. They eventually provided a heater, but I still couldn't sleep well at night. I recommend against staying at this hotel during winter.
Perfect! The key thing is that the lady at the front desk speaks Chinese, which made communication so much easier.
The room was very satisfying. The lovely staff member, Haziza, spoke Chinese which was very convenient. The room was also very clean. The surrounding amenities were also very convenient.

It clearly states check-in is after 2 PM, but they forced me to pay for an extra night because I arrived at 12 AM. What's the point? It feels like a scam. And then they demand check-out by 12 PM... The next day, I checked out before 12 PM and requested a refund for that extra day, but they refused to give it.
The room environment is nice, but the facilities are a bit old.
Good breakfast and close to Arbat street.
The hotel was excellent in every aspect. I wanted to extend my stay, but couldn't secure a reservation.
The front desk staff were very friendly and English-speaking. The breakfast spread was quite generous. The hotel seemed to cater predominantly to Chinese guests. My only minor complaint is that it was a bit pricey; otherwise, everything was good.
The hotel was clean, and breakfast was decent. However, when I checked in after 6 PM, the room hadn't been fully cleaned yet, and housekeeping staff were still coming and going, delivering items. There also seemed to be a large number of Indian guests. After 1 AM, a man, two women, and two children in the adjacent room were still being very noisy. The hotel was great, without a doubt this hotel was opened not so long ago and therefore the facilities are up in their shape. Breakfast was also great, plenty of options to choose from. Generally, I would recommend staying here.
Upon arrival, our room was prepared with a “welcome gift” of fruit — unfortunately, it was already rotten. We informed reception, and their response was simply that it had been placed there the day before.
As one of the more expensive hotels in the city, we expected a higher standard of service and a more professional response to a complaint. Due to this experience, we will consider alternative accommodation...
My experience to all mothers out there who are breastfeeding and looking for a good hotel in Almaty.

My first visit to Kazakhstan in early October — I chose Mercure for the first three nights for its convenient location and clean, hygienic look.

This hotel has a fantastic ambiance with a strong Russian flair. Breakfast every morning was a real treat. The room was very quiet and the heating was excellent. It's super convenient for getting around, and it's easy to walk to many of the attractions. Definitely my top choice for a trip to Almaty.
The hotel is in a good location, room is clean abit smaller than when i stayed in holiday inn express but still able to put 2 luggages in the room.
The breakfast spread is very good. Thumbs up. Plenty of food to keep you full. The dining area is abit small but there is still enough tables to serve at least 30 people. I think others who complaint about this probbaly came during summer or peak season...
Let's start with the positives: the hotel's location is decent, close to Mega, and situated in a quiet residential area. Compared to other hotels in Almaty, the price is relatively cheaper. Now for the negatives: the rooms are very old, giving you a distinct feeling of being transported back to the old Soviet era, 20-30 years ago. Breakfast is very average, not bad, but just enough to fill you up....
Place would have been okay, but first of all, there’s no bidet anywhere in this country. The only shattaf spray I found was in a gasoline station restroom.
We stayed for 3 nights and the place was generally clean. They did clean our room, though not thoroughly, maybe because the place is a bit old, so even with effort, it doesn’t feel much different. The location is great though, just a short walk...
My initial check-in left me a bit disappointed. The standard room was quite small, and the corridors were narrow. The facilities also felt a bit old-fashioned, and the bathroom fan was quite loud.

Very satisfied! Although it looks a bit dated, it's clean, well-equipped, and has a strong Soviet feel. I highly recommend this hotel to all my Chinese friends visiting Kazakhstan! It's a fantastic value for money, affordable yet offering great quality. The breakfast, especially today's, was excellent. Definitely worth staying here.
The room was spotless, the heating worked great, and there was 24-hour hot water. It was cleaned daily. There's also a fridge. The disposable toiletries were really high-quality and had no strange odors!
Hotel ok, but refilling slme necessity like water , tea and shampoo nptmok.
The room is spacious, the facilities are new, and the breakfast is plentiful. The surrounding area is nice, making it convenient for getting around, and parking is easy. There are also good restaurants nearby, with delicious fish. I highly recommend it; the food tastes great.
Facilities: Just as good as advertised, especially the large bathtub in the bathroom – a real highlight.
Hygiene: Cleaned thoroughly every day.
Environment: Elegant, comfortable, and cozy.
Service: The owner is very welcoming, the front desk service is attentive, and the breakfast is plentiful.
The service was terrible and the management was chaotic. The front desk couldn't find my payment record even though I paid there. The next morning, they knocked twice and refused to give me two extra bottles of water without charging me.

The room was clean and tidy, and a good size compared to other hotels in Almaty. The breakfast restaurant was excellent with beautiful views. The international breakfast wasn't quite to my taste; I prefer the breakfast at Holiday Inn Express. But with such amazing views, it really didn't matter.
Stunning views (especially from the breakfast floor) and an overall nice and friendly place. Rooms are clean and staff is bice, and you also have access to a health club and spa. The breakfast buffet was amazing. You will need a taxi to get to the City center, though.

Aside from being a bit old, the hotel was pretty good and even had a small balcony. The location was great, and breakfast was decent too.
Great hotel. Wonderful breakfast buffet, one of the best hotel gyms I've ever used, and it even had a sauna.
Good location, about 5 minutes walk to subway station and a few bus stands nearby. The only drawback for this hotel is the bed, pillow and blanket are too old and thin.
The room was so dirty. The carpet inside the room was full of stains and the furniture looked so shabby. The sliding door inside the shower was broken. However, the location for this hotel was good. Centrally located and easily accessible for public transports for sightseeing.
Dirtiest hotel I ever stayed during my entire life. The carpet inside the room was full of stains and the room is old fashion with shabby condition. Breakfast was below average and not much choices.
