Twenty years ago the whole Rakhat was shining, today shines only elevator.

The room was clean and tidy, and although the facilities were a bit old, everything worked perfectly. The hotel also boasts a swimming pool, spa, and other amenities, and the breakfast spread was quite extensive, though it did get a bit crowded in the mornings.

I was fotunate to book the renovated room, it was surely good, the AC is the only issue as it takes time to cool the room, also faced a small issue with the plugs next to the bed, they tend to disconnect after some time and you have to remove the card and reinstert it again, the breakfast area had a good buffet and nice seating area ( indoor and outdoor ) room service sometimes take time to attend...

The hotel exceeded my expectations. It's an old hotel from 1977, but the restaurant, hallways, and lobby have been renovated really well. The rooms are partially updated, and it all comes together quite nicely. The breakfast was great, and the service was excellent! I'll probably stay here again!

An older hotel, which is not a bad thing. Breakfasts were fantastic. Our family had a negative experience with check in, cleanliness and safety in our room, and we had to address these matters with a manager. It’s obvious they need to deal with service quality when they make mistakes and get to a point where safety and customer satisfaction are priority.

The hotel is one of the (maybe, the?) greatest hotels in Almaty. The territory is just huge with golf courses, a big pond, lots of trees and paths to walk. The room quality is comparable to a budget hotel in China, quite dated. To my surprise, they didn't even provide complimentary bottled water; you either had to buy it or boil your own using the in-room kettle. The only upside was the free international power adapter provided in the room.

The front-desk service was excellent, fluent English and smooth communication. On my first day they even helped me sort out small change for a taxi and provided useful sightseeing tips. The location is convenient, with a shopping mall right across the street, and the room was clean up standard.

I extended my stay for another night, and I must commend the hotel's thoughtfulness. The breakfast was quite good, but because I'm lactose intolerant, I got diarrhea after drinking milk. When I asked if the hotel had any medication, they first checked if I was allergic to it before giving me the medicine. They were very considerate and attentive.

First room was smell bad of smoke even though my booking was non smoking room . They gave me other room was good after i complained. I think hotels used to give worst room who booked through trip.com . It happened in my previous trip in Bali.

Hotels in Almaty are significantly inferior to those in China. The Ritz-Carlton's facilities are roughly equivalent to those of Atour X in China. The service is acceptable, but the breakfast is mediocre and too monotonous; it's not even in the same league as Ritz-Carlton hotels in China.

The best and the most expensive hotel in Almaty. Service is perfect, staff try to help in all questions. Breakfast huge and tasty, there is everything, even common quail eggs… Rooms big and have nice views to city or mountais. Gym is very good too. Pool not big but enough good, sauna just separate in mans and womans changing rooms.

I don't understand. Every morning at 8 AM, there's the sound of a drill. They don't provide disposable slippers unless you call for them, and even then, you have to chase them up. It only has the Ibis name; the service quality doesn't match this price point at all.

It was -16 degrees Celsius outside, but the room was only 15 degrees and there was no underfloor heating. The room was too cold. They eventually provided a heater, but I still couldn't sleep well at night. I recommend against staying at this hotel during winter.

It clearly states check-in is after 2 PM, but they forced me to pay for an extra night because I arrived at 12 AM. What's the point? It feels like a scam. And then they demand check-out by 12 PM... The next day, I checked out before 12 PM and requested a refund for that extra day, but they refused to give it.

Let's start with the positives: the hotel's location is decent, close to Mega, and situated in a quiet residential area. Compared to other hotels in Almaty, the price is relatively cheaper. Now for the negatives: the rooms are very old, giving you a distinct feeling of being transported back to the old Soviet era, 20-30 years ago.
