My first visit to Kazakhstan in early October — I chose Mercure for the first three nights for its convenient location and clean, hygienic look.
The interior beautifully blends creativity and tradition, with local patterns, photos, and ornaments throughout the lobby, restaurant, and rooms. It’s even more impressive in person than in photos — a true work of art.
The room condition was excellent and very clean. Breakfast wasn’t extensive but of good quality.
Special thanks to a staff member named Zhi Bek, who seemed to be a supervisor. She was professional, attentive, and efficient in handling requests, with fluent English and a warm smile. Her service made the stay feel like a true five-star experience.

The hotel was great, without a doubt this hotel was opened not so long ago and therefore the facilities are up in their shape. Breakfast was also great, plenty of options to choose from. Generally, I would recommend staying here.

Upon arrival, our room was prepared with a “welcome gift” of fruit — unfortunately, it was already rotten. We informed reception, and their response was simply that it had been placed there the day before.
As one of the more expensive hotels in the city, we expected a higher standard of service and a more professional response to a complaint. Due to this experience, we will consider alternative accommodation for our next stay.

It's hard to imagine that Mercure, which is considered a budget hotel in China, costs 1200 a night in Almaty. I arrived very late on the first night and found there were no toiletries like toothbrushes in the room. The next morning, I called housekeeping at 10 AM, but by 2 PM, my room still hadn't been cleaned. I had to call and urge them four or five more times before an older lady finally came. By then, my patience was completely worn out.

My experience to all mothers out there who are breastfeeding and looking for a good hotel in Almaty.
I visited Almaty while I was in the breastfeeding phase, where I must preserve/store my breast milk to take for my baby back home.
As it is well known, hotel rooms do not have freezer in them.
I am so thankful and great full for Mark and Assem for their help in that matter; specially Mark, not only has he helped me, but also provided me with solutions to the problem. He has the qualifications to becoming a hotel manager.
Again, Thank you Mark for making my stay easy.

Very disappointed with the hotel. I found a used razor in my shower when I entered my room. They checked me in with wrong information, they wouldn’t realise that if I did not order a taxi from my room account. While they were checking me with right info , the terms they wanted me to sign had a difference nationality and the they expected me to sign it. Most of the staff are quite inexperienced. Their SPA needs an update.

We visited the spa located in this hotel and were absolutely delighted! It was our first visit, and everything was perfect — a calm atmosphere, cleanliness, and attentive staff. Special thanks to Sabina and Dana — true professionals with golden hands. After the treatments, we felt completely relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommended!
