Emir in Karakol

I’m not exaggerating when I say this hostel is pure magic. You wake up, open the curtains (or step outside your door), and there they are: the legendary Seven Bulls rocks standing like giants against the sky, with nothing but endless wilderness stretching in every direction. I’ve hiked a lot of beautiful trails, but I’ve never felt so completely surrounded by raw, untouched nature. I think what truly made the stay unforgettable, though, were the owners. They are hands-down the kindest, most generous people I’ve met in years of travelling. The owner let my girlfriend ride with her to town so she could stick up on some food for us during our 6 day stay. It really felt like I was visiting family and they invited us both back. I look forward to the day I get to return to see my old friends there and explore more of the surrounding wilderness. So many more things to say but I will leave it at this, if you are in the area and looking for an unforgettable adventure, stay here and explore the area. It is serene and adventurous at the same time. Thank you guys both for the hospitality.

A wonderful experience spending the night in a yurt. Beautiful untouched nature. I appreciate the opportunity to communicate with the staff in English, which is not a given in this region. The hygiene in the yurt could definitely be improved – when I wanted to go to the toilet/shower, I had to walk across the yard, where there was horse shit. Thank you for arranging the horse riding.

Getting there was a bit of a hassle, the bridge google map showed was closed and we had a hard time finding the other bridge.

However the room was comfortable and the food was really good. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

This guest house sits right below the Seven Bulls. There is a panoramic view through the kitchen windows. In the nearby vicinity one can do different walks through beautiful countryside.

The owner speaks excellent English and is very helpful. I really liked the modern kitchen and bathroom with 24 hour hot water. I stayed for two nights in the yurt dormitory which only has 3 beds and is quite spacious.

If you are a backpacker on a budget, be aware that meal expenses can really mount up here. Over 2 days my guest house supplied food including one delivery was 3100 som while accommodation was only 2100 som.

- Emir Guesthouse is located in a perfect area - in front of the Seven Bulls. Additionally, the village is nice and I really recommend to stay one night
- The yurts outside are common rooms and there are also multiple shared bathrooms
- Cholpon speaks English and she is very nice and helpful. Additionally, the entire family is very welcoming and they are happy to chat with you
- The food (breakfast and dinner) is very food and it is freshly cooked.
