Staff often described as friendly and helpful, with specific praise for restaurant staff and daily cleaning service. Indoor heated pool and rooftop jacuzzi receive positive mentions for water temperature and ambiance. Good value for money with affordable prices and large buffet portions. Family-owned management is appreciated by some returning guests, with the owner visible during meals. Rooms and hotel facilities are frequently described as outdated, with worn mattresses, old decor, and maintenance issues like dripping taps and faulty bathroom fixtures. Noise levels can be very high due to school groups staying at the hotel, with frequent door slamming and shouting noted. Complaints about inconsistent Wi-Fi, lack of complimentary toiletries, and limited breakfast hours (7:00–10:30) not matching typical 4-star standards. Some guests report rude or unhelpful staff at reception, and occasional issues with power outages and housekeeping interruptions.

Description

It offers 157 rooms across various internal, standard, and superior types, accommodating singles to quadruples. The hotel features two swimming pools—one indoor heated and one outdoor with free sun loungers and umbrellas—and a rooftop terrace. Facilities include a restaurant, a lounge bar named Tate, a beauty salon, fitness center, sauna, solarium, massage services, and a game room with billiards, table tennis, and karaoke. I have been coming to Bellavista for 30 + years. For the most part it hasn’t changed, And there are some staff still here. I have had some stupid cheap prices less than £20 a day all inclusive. Is it 4 star, no,but I’ve no issues with cleanliness, staff cleaning all day long. Food is good enough for the price you pay. One of my older children didn’t like the food, and now one of my young children doesn’t. Personally never seen a cockroach. It’s always been the same here people want Hilton for travelodge prices. It is family owned and they are very approachable, the owner is here every morning and every evening and eat here. I thank everybody, from the owner to the cleaners, may I have more visits here !!

We have just come back from our holiday and were pleased to stay at this hotel. Very good value for money!
FREE WIFI! With good reception in rooms too!
We had our towels cleaned every day, rooms are comfortable and great for this price we paid. Staff is friendly, breakfast is good. The indoor swimming pool is very warm, however I was disappointed that there was no sauna (in some old website listings it was mentioned that they did have sauna at some point, but not longer the case). Jacuzzi was very warm in the first few days, but with luke warm water the rest of our stay.
7 euros city tax for 2 people.
They offer evening entertainment 2-3 times a week with some live music, which was enjoyable.
The hotel is very clean and smells pleasant.
Nice cocktails at the bar.
Generally I would recommend this hotel, you get what you pay for!

My journey is 29 days all month of January
Very nice first 10 days , then some staff are arrogant and disrespectful and always
Don't care about costumers, the even lies
About them duties so that's it.
All good no more issues, I will update anything. 12/29 days
So at least also staff aggressive and disrespectful always come to fight
Very bad éducation, 17/29days
As I asked before , got the refund
Talking about singolar people waiters an hall staff all men, restarant food
Good for few days not long periods
No raccomendet bad smell and same tipe of food . Central air conditioner controled by the hotel so always cool so swim pool also cool many times.

Poor for a 4-star hotel. Rooms need updating. Good food. Friendly service.

The hotel is in a good location, close to the city center. Overall, it's clean, and the staff cares about their guests. However, the hotel's best days are behind it and the rooms could use some renovations and refreshment.

Terrible hotel. If you like cockroaches🪳 in your bed you can stay in this hotel. The staff are very rude and speak with a very bad attitude and constantly look at your plate when you are eating. The rooms are very old fashioned and uncomfortable. One of the main reasons I came here with my family in this hotel is the game room, and it is absolutely ridiculous. You have to pay for every game you play and the games that you pay last for 2 minutes and also if you want to play table tennis you have to get a 5 pounds fee to get broken rackets that you can barely play in. Also they don’t allow people to get the foods themselves. You have to tell one of the staff to put food for you (so you don’t ask for much because of embarrassment) and I think that is very selfish from the hotel. Also my mum was getting food and asked one of the staff “what is this food” and they said “can’t you read?” and that is such a rude way to speak to someone. The place was so uncomfortable because people stare at your food and if you are taking a break for two minutes they keep come to you and say “are you finished with your food?” which forces you to eat because you don’t want them bothering you again. They have a shop and some of the stuff are more expensive than they should be(some of them are normal price). Also my family came to the hotel a few hours early and they didn’t let us in so we had to sit in the reception for 3 hours. Overall a very disrespectful and unwelcoming place and rude.

This hotel was a disappointment. I honestly thought the negative reviews weren’t true, but unfortunately most of them are.

To start with the positives: the staff in the restaurant were very kind (special thanks to the Serbian staff who were extra welcoming), breakfast was great with a good variety, the pool was okay (though it would have been better if it was deeper), and the massage was excellent.

However, that’s where the good things end. Lunch and dinner were very poor and absolutely not worth paying for. Drinks aren’t included unless you pay extra, which makes the “all inclusive” option pointless. The bathroom was badly designed, the shower had no proper handheld head, which made it nearly impossible to wash without getting your hair wet (a real struggle especially for women). On top of that, we even had ants in the bathroom and in the room. The cleaning staff came daily, but the problem never went away. The beds were two singles pushed together and kept sliding apart, because there was no option for a double bed.

The elevator was extremely slow and frustrating. Often it would stop at random floors without reason instead of taking you directly where you pressed, which made every ride unnecessarily long and annoying.

The noise was unbearable. School groups were staying in the hotel, running around, slamming doors, and shouting, even late at night. In the mornings, cleaning staff slammed doors and made noise in the hallways, and there was constant construction work outside. Soundproofing is terrible, you can’t rest during the day or sleep in peace at night. Breakfast hours are also very short and early (7:30–9:00), which is unusual compared to most hotels.

The “playroom” was useless, the pool table was in such bad condition it couldn’t even be played properly (there wasn’t even a white ball), and nothing else worked either.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. It does not deserve four stars, and unless it goes through serious renovation and better organization, it’s simply not worth staying here.

I honestly don’t understand how Bella Vista Hotel in Malta has 4 stars they must have either awarded it to themselves or got it out of charity. The overall experience was disappointing from start to finish.

The staff are extremely rude and unhelpful, especially at the front desk where the attitude is petty and unfriendly. There is absolutely no view despite the name “Bella Vista.” Cleaning staff start knocking on doors at 8am we’re supposed to be on holiday, not in military training.

Meal times are ridiculously restricted: breakfast only until 9am and dinner finished by 8pm. This is a tourist island full of visitors, not a retirement home. The food is always the same, lacking variety, with poor sweet options. To make matters worse, the coffee and juices are simply undrinkable.

Overall, this hotel fails in almost every aspect: service, food, atmosphere, and hospitality. Definitely not worth the money, and I would not recommend it to anyone expecting even basic standards of a 4-star hotel.

Very cozy and clean room. The staff is excellent, always happy to help. Cleaning every day. Breakfasts are excellent. Feel free to order lunch and dinner, the food is delicious. I will definitely come back.
