Riad Dar El Grably in Marrakech

Super place. Super friendly and helpful staff. Nice hot tub with beatiful view of the stars. nice room. Very good breakfast. Everything perfect. DEFINITIVE RECOMMENDATION!

Such a lovely experience. The Riad is beautifully designed, the staff are welcoming and friendly and the whole ambiance is delightful. Breakfast was simple but delicious, breads, cake, fresh fruit, yoghurt and pancakes. They have their own Hammam and Layla was wonderful. The room was spacious and spotless and we had our own terraced area. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

The location and having breakfast at the rooftop table was very amazing. We could walk around all day visiting the popular attractions. But Google.map.was not so helpful in routing as much as in the capital
Urban areas cause the old city is just complex.

A visit to Marrakesh has been on the radar for a while. We wanted an authentic stay so opted for a small “Riad” rather than a hotel but with SO many to choose from, how do you make that choice. The reviews for the “Riad El Grably” on TA are consistently very good but would the description and pictures be anything like the real thing Having recently returned from a 5 night stay here, the answer is most definitely yes and it deserves this in depth review. Communication with Francoise (owner) before arrival was excellent. Our flight landed around 11am and following about a 20 min transfer from the airport, we (3 of us) were met in a nearby parking place by Hanane who insisted on carrying the girls bags on the short walk back to the Riad, “ first left, first right”. It was like entering a Tardis. Behind that big brown door lies what instantly felt like a cool and calm Oasis, far from the hussle and bustle of just a few minutes ago. Our bags were taken to our rooms while we sat drinking mint tea, listening to the comprehensive brief then a tour both given by Hanane. Our rooms on the first floor were spotless and very comfortable. We chose to take our breakfast on the rooftop terrace. It was a sweet affair and more than enough to set you up for a busy day exploring. We took the opportunity to chat with Francoise on a couple of occasions, it would appear she had the same dilemma as we did when choosing which Riad, not to stay in but to buy! In our opinion her skills and vision have resulted in an ongoing renovation that not only oozes moorish charm but is uniquely stylish. Eating out for us turned out to be a bit hit/miss, we did a bit of research before arriving and had a superb lunch at “Amal” (separate review) which is a non profit organisation that you can find out more about on google. Also just a stroll away from the Riad on the way to the main square is the Cafe/restaurant “La Porte Du Monde” (separate review). You can sit out at tables on the pavement here and people watch till your hearts content or enjoy the colourful roof top terrace, both of these places are recommended The main El Fna square is a totally different place during the day to what it is in the evenings when it is absolutely buzzing with local musicians and eateries. Sadly we picked one where all the meat tasted like lighter fuel and the bill turned out to be the most expensive “street food” we have ever had, hey ho‍♂️ We dipped in the pool, relaxed in the hot tub and did treat ourselves to the small, very private Hammam where Laïla expertly washed and exfoliated us, followed by a 1 hour full body massage which was delivered with the right amount of pressure by 2 lady masseuse Trip wise, one evening we did the Camel ride/Quad bike/dinner & fire show with Starry Morocco tours, excellent VFM and well enjoyed (separate review.) Taking a TukTuk tour from the nearby “Mellah Square” where there are several eateries) to the main “El Fna Square” plus the old and new Medina’s was grea

From the warm greeting with tea and cake, friendly and attentive staff, comfy beds, great shower, tasty breakfast where they thought of everything, lovely pool, hot tub and tranquil rooftop. We loved it and would love to come back some day.

This place is an absolute delight. There were 4 of us in our group (2 couples). Having been to Marrakesh before, but staying in a resort hotel, we wanted to stay in a Riad this time, and I feel that we chose the best one. We arrived by private transfer from the airport, the closest the driver can get is to a car park, a couple of minutes’ walk down alleyways to the Riad, Leila from Riad met us at the carpark and escorted us to the Riad, Françoise greeted us on our arrival, we were then treated to some lovely refreshing mint tea. Françoise then sat with us and talked us through our surrounding areas, giving suggestions on where to go and what to see while we were here. Françoise gave us her phone number (just in case we got lost, I think, ha-ha) Even though we arrived before midday, our rooms were already ready for us. The rooms were beautiful, very clean, and very comfortable. our rooms had AC and also an additional fan provided if needed. We had robes to use when we wanted to go to the pool or the hot tub. Do not pass up the opportunity for a Hammam and Massage, we had Layla do the best Hamman ever, followed by the best full body massage I have ever had. The prices were very good for these services. The rooftop areas are very inviting, and we would sit up there to wind down after a busy day in the souks, museums, and palaces. You can enjoy a nice cold soda (Coke, Sprite, etc.) while relaxing in the calm atmosphere of the Riad. You cannot buy alcohol in the Riad, and not all places serve it, but many restaurants do. Riad El Grably is a true hidden gem, the team are all amazing and work very hard, nothing was too much trouble, my only advice would be to stay longer, we only had 3 nights, and wished we had more.

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic and everyone was so attentative nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was tasty and the rooms are very comfortable. The swimming pool was lovely especially late afternoon after being in the heat most of the day. There is a lovely rooftop where you can enjoy a sunbed and a cold soda. You can also enjoy a hammam and a massage, definitely return thank you Francoise

The most important value of this place is its people! Many thanks to Leila, who met us at the parking lot and was always happy to help. The location is ideal - 3-4 minutes from the parking lot, no need to drag things far. The central square of the Medina is 10 minutes walk away. Breakfast on the roof with a view of the mountains was great! The only thing I didn't like was that there was a mosque nearby and waking up at 5 am from terrible sounds was very unpleasant. However, this is not the fault of the riyadh at all.

The hotel is located in the medina, a few minutes' walk from the central square. The breakfast is good. The indoor pool is nice. The rooftop is incredible. Cons: You have to ring the bell every time to enter the hotel.

On arrival was greeted by Francoise who was very helpful and showed us around and then to our room . Our room was very clean and spacious lovely large bed . Breakfast was a traditional Moroccan breakfast which was served to the table, mint tea was a delight. There is a hot tub and a swimming pool which we didn't use . But we did use the roof terrace which was lovely, spent a lot of time up there when we were not exploring . Very central to the area . Would highly recommend if you're coming to Marrakech.
