Sorry for the long review, but I wanted to be as informative as possible and share the information I would have liked to know before booking.

This was my 5th trip to Marrakesh and my first stay at Savoy Le Grand. I was quite nervous booking after reading some negative reviews, but overall I had a very pleasant experience.

From the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were warmly welcomed by Salah (concierge) and the Moroccan tea man in reception. From check-in to check-out (4 days later), all staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Everyone we encountered spoke Arabic, French, and English, which made communication very easy.

The foyer is beautiful, and the grounds are extremely well cared for—even more beautiful than expected. That said, there is ongoing construction and upgrades, which are not mentioned on the website. This is currently their quiet season, and the main construction is above the reception building, which is being extended upwards. Noise started daily around 9:15am, drilling around 9:38am, and finished around 6:30pm. Estimated completion is 1 May 2026. If you request a room near the second smaller pool, the noise is much less noticeable. The noise is louder and echoes more around the main pool due to the square layout.

The hotel has four pools: two outdoor and two indoor. One indoor pool is heated and includes jacuzzi jets. There is also an additional indoor jacuzzi at the spa, charged at MAD 250 per person for one hour.

There are three à la carte restaurants on site: Moroccan, International, and Italian. Directly outside the hotel are a supermarket, Paul, Chilli’s, and Papa John’s. Please note that outside food is not allowed inside the hotel. There is an ATM in reception and direct access to Menara Mall, which closes at 10pm.

Special thanks to Nabil at reception, who did an excellent job checking us in. He listened carefully to my needs and arranged early check-in to a ground-floor room close to the restaurants, spa, and gym, with a garden and pool view. Soundproofing from the pool area was good, although hallway noise does travel. The grounds are beautiful, but the ground-floor rooms occasionally had a sewage smell, which I’ve also experienced at other Moroccan hotels.

We did experience a few issues with our first room (heating not working, leaking fridge, slow-draining sink). Without us needing to complain, Soukayna from guest relations came first thing the next morning and immediately arranged for us to move to a beautiful suite. This level of customer service, care, and attentiveness is exactly what you expect from a 5-star hotel. In the evening there’s live entertainment music in the bar and outside a light & water fountain display.

The suite was stunning—very spacious, with a separate living area, two balconies, lots of storage, mini fridge, large sofa, king-size bed, two TVs, kettle, coffee machine, safe, bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom had two sinks (standard rooms have one), plenty of toiletries (no washcloths), a large shower with both handheld and waterfall options, and excellent water pressure. There wasn’t much space to hang items, and there is a bidet hose beside the toilet. Thank you to the head cleaning lady for the final touches and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

I’d like to thank all the staff for providing us with a wonderful stay. I love the Moroccan people—they are humble, kind, and always willing to help. Despite the construction, I achieved my goal of relaxation and a short break. This is now my new favourite hotel in Marrakesh, and I will definitely return and recommend it to friends and family

We liked the Savoy Le Grand Hotel. However, there is building work going on, and the noise levels in the reception area are very high. The staff are courteous and polite. As it is a large hotel, the overall service and customer care can sometimes fall short.

A special thanks should be given to the staff at the Moroccan restaurant, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. The bar staff were more relaxed, and the dining experience in the bar area was acceptable. The hotel is close to both the train station and the airport, which makes it a convenient place to stay.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The lobby had fresh flowers, and the scent was amazing. The pristine white linens, the room size, and the balcony furniture were all fantastic 🤩. The breakfast perfectly suited my taste. There's some construction happening, as they're adding more floors to the main building, but it didn't affect our stay at all since our room overlooked the smaller pool. All our requests were handled incredibly quickly. It's a shame I didn't get a chance to try the spa; we only stayed for three nights and wanted to explore the city more.

Fantastic hotel, great staff. Lovely place to stay, very attentive we couldn’t ask for anything better.

That was my garden view I booked, is that even a garden??. Didn’t have any slippers in my room & to have a robe it is a 1,000 MAD deposit? in all my travelling that is on unheard off to me. Should have stated that on there amenities. I’ve stayed at multiple 5 start hotels this was unheard of to me. Also if you want to bring in a McDonald’s forget about it the security will stop you from bringing it into the hotel. Not only me but other guest too was stopped. Should have these rules stated while booking to save us the embarrassment.
Other than that the stay there was amazing, breakfast amazing but was let down by the issues mentioned.

The staff are a little cold not so friendly. We had to call daily to ask for our amenities. Missing bedroom slippers when we arrived. There is no bathrobe in the Hotel. There was at least 1 missing amenities each day and we have to call to ask for it.

Honestly, it is totally not worth the money. I payed +200€ per night and couldn’t even go to the Spa because you had to pay extra. Also, the Hotel is pretty old which doesn’t justify the price either. On my departure day I asked if I could change 100 dirham into 2 50 bills, at first the hotel staff at the currency exchange did not wanted to change me money for. Only when I asked for the second time she did it but with a lot of hesitation and also angered. This is not a 5 Star Service nor an Experience. All in all quite a scam hotel. (Btw the only good Savoy is in London) Never coming back!

Great hotel with an international vibe ; doesn’t feel like Morocco/ Marrakesh once you get to the rooms though. It’s a little bit far from the Medina (about 45 min walk) so we took a taxi back and forth almost each time.
- the breakfast buffet was 5/5 really awesome and lots of choices .
- rooms have been renovated and changed so pictures online are wrong . We asked for a room change and got it right away.
- there are 2 areas with pools , it your room is in building 3 you don’t have the right pool view unless you want peace and quite .
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!

Finding a Chili's place here in Marrakesh was a true surprise.
It is really authentic if you know Chili's in the US.
Actually probably better than many Chili's locations back in the States.
Obviously there are no pork dishes available but everything was really good

delicious french style pastries in a modern setting. Upscale local neighborhood not far from one of the big malls. We enjoyed the pastries, a cappuchino and the wifi - great afternoon break.
