One of the top hotels I have ever stayed. The service was nothing less than exceptional. The Reserve was the high end room in this hotel and it was worth every penny. We felt like royalty. From the greeting on the airport tarmac to the wonderful checkin. The housekeeping staff was so amazing. We have really never had this level of perfection in any other place we have stayed. The restaurants in the reserve part of the hotel were excellent and probably some of the best food on the island. You can't go wrong staying here. I'd strongly recommend! Cheers to the entire staff!

Other than the GALÁXIA restaurant being told of a shellfish allergy and being served prawns in an appetizer, which caused an allergic reaction, it was a marvelous stay.

We have had the privilege of travelling many times in the past few decades This is our number one best hotel experience weeks prior to our stay we were contacted to make sure that every detail would be addressed My wife is celiac and the many amazing restaurants went above and beyond to accommodate her for breakfast lunch and dinner without mentioning her restrictions Every individual employee from the doorman to the reception housekeeping were absolutely warm and welcoming Not to mention Madeira is an exceptional clean and modern lush beautiful island. We will definitely return thank you so much for the incredible hospitality

Fantastic accommodations from the spacious rooms to the staff attention to detail and service. Numerous little touches - like small bathrobes and slippers for small children and the takeaway treats at breakfast make the stay here very special.

We decided to travel to Madeira and started the process of finding a hotel. It's hard to plan and decide from around the world, but as soon as I found The Reserve on trip advisor, I knew I found the one. The Reserve was hands down our favorite hotel experience. There are no words to describe the lovely staff. The hotel itself is stunning. We enjoyed eating breakfast daily with the gorgeous view. The small gifts they presented were so gracious. And they even gave me a birthday gift. It is a thoughtful and special place. I am saddened that we had to leave. It is the only place in Europe that I would go back to a second time. Please don't hesitate to stay here. Thanks for such a beautiful experience.

the room and room amenities were beyond 5 star, it was wonderful. the most important thing was the customer service, the connection made was genuine and helped make the stay very pleasant. prior to check in the hotel contacted me with my own personal assist. and everything I needed she made happen with no stress of fuss. it was a wonderful experience. the rest of the visit to Funchal was fantastic the views from my room, the service quality, the food was great. I would highly recommend the Reserve to anyone who enjoys the finer things life has to offer.

The Reserve is one of the nicest/warmest hotels I have stayed. The staff is six stars. Each staff person knows your name, and goes above and beyond with service. Extras include an evening treat each night, different pillow choices, an escort through the airport, and more. Each restaurant we visited, we were warmly greeted with the best table. No question went unanswered (I had many) - staff was helpful with booking tours, hikes, spa, restaurants. Each room has its own deck with a good view. The hotel has many pools and restaurant options, and there are many good options nearby for food. Madeira is wonderful and there is no shortage of sights to see. I will definitely be back! I wouldn’t hesitate to book.

First class service, accommodation and food. The discerning traveller looking for an exclusive, tranquil getaway will not be disappointed!!! We have been racking our brains to try and find any minus points ! We would highly recommend! One of the best hotels in the world!

Excellent food.
The staff are extremely friendly as shown by the chef that genuinely cared and asked if everything was to our satisfaction.
Could easily have been a restaurant we overlooked but we are glad we took the leap and enjoyed a wonderful meal.
Strawberries on the profiteroles were picked fresh from their own plants.

Only 1 star because the waiter ruined the whole experience by not being careful and served a glass of fresh orange juice full of worms!!!!! I have never experienced this in my whole life. I doubt the place is hygienic!!! It's a shame because the food was delicious but after seeing all the worms in my juice I don't even want to imagine what is happening in the background. Not recommended! Worst and the most disgusting experience ever!!!!
