Due to a cancelled flight, we had an extra day and decided to stay here again. We booked a slightly smaller family suite, but it was still very spacious. With two large beds and a small sofa bed, it easily accommodated four of us. We spent the unexpected extra day relaxing at the hotel, enjoying the beautiful scenery and delicious food. The hotel restaurant charges the same as places outside, and there are plenty of options across the street, plus a supermarket. Buying drinks and snacks to enjoy back in the room was also a lovely treat. The pool is saltwater, so it's best to keep your head above water when swimming. There's another pool a few levels down, and if you're a strong swimmer, you can even go for a dip in the sea.

The hotel is in a great location - near to ocean promenade ( lido complex -15 mins by foot), restaurants , super markets . Breakfast spread was also good so was the views from room both city ans ocean view eoom

The hotel service is very good, the room is very clean, you can put together a big bed or split it into two single beds, the room is large, although the hotel has a long history, it is well maintained, there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and there is snorkeling on the sea. The hotel is built by the sea with beautiful scenery. The lower part of the hotel has one side against the cliff, similar to the Shenkeng Hotel in Songjiang, Shanghai. It is convenient to walk to the city for 15 minutes. There is a bus stop at the door. The breakfast is also very good. The local climate in early February is really pleasant, and the air is very good. It is worth coming again.

Thanks to the beautiful and enthusiastic Ms. Erica at the front desk for giving us a perfect experience. Everything was great. The hotel has a great location. There are many delicious restaurants just outside. There are four swimming pools, one of which leads directly to the sea. It's so beautiful ~ Very cost-effective

The hotel is old, but everything looks nice and shabby.
A lot of stairs to the sea, but also there is elevator.
Normal breakfast, a lot of pastry, but for my tasty could be more fresh vegetables, avocado and etc..

Excellent food.
The staff are extremely friendly as shown by the chef that genuinely cared and asked if everything was to our satisfaction.
Could easily have been a restaurant we overlooked but we are glad we took the leap and enjoyed a wonderful meal.
Strawberries on the profiteroles were picked fresh from their own plants.

Only 1 star because the waiter ruined the whole experience by not being careful and served a glass of fresh orange juice full of worms!!!!! I have never experienced this in my whole life. I doubt the place is hygienic!!! It's a shame because the food was delicious but after seeing all the worms in my juice I don't even want to imagine what is happening in the background. Not recommended! Worst and the most disgusting experience ever!!!!

We found this place by accident looking for a good steak and left completely blown away by the experience at beef & wines. Excellent service, great atmosphere and probably the best food I have eaten so far. Absolute must when in Madeira.

The restaurant is a bit of a formal place and we arrived there after a sailing trip of a day, looking a bit scruffy. It might be a language thing but the waiter was a bit formal. However, the place looks great inside and the food and wine is excellent. A huge choice of fine Portuguese wines, and good quality beef. The price level compared to Dutch standards is fairly low, especially compared to the service and quality of the food provided. I definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner evening (properly dressed for the occasion).

Had a lot of good choices around but ended up coming here twice after the first visit impressed so much! Great service with incredibly welcoming and friendly people and some amazing food. Full of comfort a must try!
