Although the hotel is a bit old, the rooms are spacious and in a great location, facing the Atlantic Ocean with beautiful sea views. The hotel's food is also of high quality, with a fantastic breakfast and a very reasonable dinner, making it a very cost-effective choice.

Nice hotel but old fashioned. We missed the spark. Everything is the hotel is outdated. A refreshment would be good. Breakfast is nice.

Everything was great. Kudos to the front desk staff, particularly João (who welcomed us) and Carla (who professionally helped us with the late check out). All were great, including the restaurant staff and pool area support.

The Hotel was Good , however Bar refreshments were at limited times During the Day, no Alcohol till 4pm . This was Poor as your on Holiday in a Warm Climate.

Fantastic stuff for the check-in which upgraded me to a much higher category because of my birthday the hotel is spotless clean. overall highly recommended first day in Madeira

Hehe, it seems that we were upgraded to a room type, which is very nice. The scenery is great. There are restaurants and supermarkets just up the hill from the hotel. It's just a little far from the city center. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. Don't have too much hope for breakfast, it's all white rice. I wanted to eat soup but there was none. The bath products are okay, at least they have a brand.

Hahaha, wow! When I was 7 years old, I accidentally fell on my local gravel beach, and the sand itself was better than any of the popsicle cold ingredients on the plate I had yesterday at The Chanceller. The reason I give this review today and not yesterday is simply because I had to run as fast as I could to the hotel, and sleep the disappointment out. In this review, I shall upload a video of me trying to eat a bite of the espatada. The whole sequence is too long to upload (1.26min) so you get a short clip.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is too happy about life and wish to get a major shock in what the worlds worst restaurant have to offer.
