TUI Blue Gardens - Adults-only - Savoy Signature Hotel

We hosted our wedding welcome party on the hotel rooftop. It was absolutely perfect! The food, drinks, and panoramic views of Madeira were beyond what we expected. The saxophone player that the hotel recommended was incredible. Everyone at Tui Blue Madeira Gardens was warm, welcoming and responsive. It was so easy to plan from the United States because of their great service. We are so thankful for the work that everyone put in to make it exceptional! Highly recommend hosting events here.

We've just returned from a lovely 10 day stay at the Madeira Gardens hotel. An absolutely excellent stay and we would thoroughly recommend staying here. You are about 30 minutes walk out of Funchal centre in the Lido area so be aware of that and it's not a flat walk in or back to the hotel so if you've got mobility issues you might be using the bus that stops right outside the hotel or use taxi's via the Bolt app as they are reasonably priced. So if that is all good for you then this hotel is spot on. Room with a sea view is recommended as it's a bit special. Room is very well equipped with a comfy bed, tea/coffee, fridge etc. Other facilities include great outdoor pool with plenty of sun beds, loungers and pool bar. Indoor pool and gym and sauna and steam room were really nice to use and not busy. Roof top bar, jacuzzi and patio gives a wonderful relaxing view out over the city and out sea. Wow !! We were B&B and breakfast was superb and staff very helpful. 10/10 for breakfast. Lots of restaurants in the area so we didn't bother walking into town in the evening. We used Google maps and TripAdvisor to find some great places to eat. So overall a super stay at this hotel and would happily stay again.

Great place to stay in Funcal Madeira. Centrally placed, lots of food options, well presented and very tasty. Half board means one evening meal in the a la carte restaurant, had a lovely evening. Had a cocktail every evening, nine euros, so very reasonable, but 18.00 to 19.00 is happy hour, and a good discount off all drinks during this time. Great staff, special mention for Geraldine, or G, the sports organiser, got lots of people involved, particularly in pool keep fit, due to her endless enthusiasm. Had a lovely, large room with balcony and sea views. Can't recommend it enough. Madeira is a beautiful place to visit

First thing to say is, i feel harsh giving it a 4/5 review, as we had an excellent holiday. The staff are amazing, this was probably the highlight of the hotel. Zamir, Natasha and Gee were excellent. They work so hard to make sure your trip is as enjoyable as it can be. The aquafit being a particular highlight. The pool bar had a good choice of lunch options and it was all fairly reasonably priced for a hotel bar. The location is great. Go left down the hill and you'll get to Funchal in 30 mins, go right and you'll hit a ***** of lovely bars and restaurants. I'd recommended the 'orientation walk' when you get there it's a lovely introduction to Funchal. I only knocked it down a point because the evening buffet was a little lack lustre. There wasn't much choice and things didn't tend to go together. I expected there to be a bigger spread for a 4 star hotel. Also to note the rooms were particularly small, with very little room for storage and the balcony was tiny (we were at the side of the hotel though, the rooms facing the sea seemed to have bigger balconies). We couldn't sit in the chairs provided as there just isn't enough room for your legs. Overall though we would go back, maybe go bed and breakfast (lots of lovely local restaurants around) and maybe we would book a sea view room. We had such an excellent time, there was always something going on! Enjoy!

We are regular visitors at the lovely hotel, once again it did not disappoint, excellent friendly staff in all areas, bar, reception, restaurants superb reps especially Santa and the exceptional Zamir, views from the rooftop are superb, already we are looking forward to our return visit in November once again thank you Madeira Gardens.

Small and friendly hotel with great staff especially Zamir who was working everyday, all day, on his day off, 12hr shifts making sure everyone had a great stay and made the most of the holiday. He’s straight forward honest and very knowledgeable. Credit to TUI & hotel. Hotel breakfast/dinner - no complaints plenty of choice (worth booking HB) Lunch & Drink prices are reasonable Hotel generally is very clean. We did 2 excursion’s 1. Exclusive Dramatic: well worth the price and excellent guide Grace. Best Island tour we have done 2. George’s family boat - what an amazing day out with the family. Best food we had all week was on these 2 tours. We would definitely book again if we returned. Definitely recommend speak to zamir Madeira dance show at hotel was fun to watch. All staff friendly & work really hard Thanks to everyone for the enjoyable stay.

Everyone we met was a returning visitor which, in the age group it seems to cater for, over 50’s, is a compliment to the hotel. There is certainly a lot to see and do in Madeira, without walking the Levadas even. There is an easy levada walk at the rear of the hotel. The staff are all friendly and welcoming particularly Natasha in entertainments and Santa. The fitness/wellbeing coach Gi does some great varied classes from sunrise yoga to band work or weights. They all made our stay really special. There is the new Spa now with massage etc ( extra but a discount available) and a warm modern indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna all accessible. We sunbathed on the rooftop terrace where there is a bar and Jacuzzi and the four poster sunbeds along with the regular sunbeds and tables. The hotel was not full in April and we never had any problems getting a sunbed or a table at meal times. Restaurant staff are great and the food is very varied even for gluten free or dairy intolerant. Many salad variations, pasta, regional dishes and fish, two meats at least. Breakfast has a vast array of choice, no complaints at all. Many English dishes like fruit crumble and one day roast lamb with mint gravy, yum. Desserts were the best choice we have ever seen. The cakes were all fantastic tasting. The small gardens are to the rear of the hotel and the fitness pavilion and games area is set in further gardens and is up a couple of higher stepped levels which might be a problem for some. There is a table tennis table in the sunken garden near the unheated pool. In the evening there is live music which is good but as the weather was poor it was not held in the rooftop terrace area or around the pool but in the Magnolia lounge downstairs. This was very ‘working mans club’ style not much atmosphere , the chairs set out wrong for chatting we thought. There was a ****** night and a quiz, several bands and some traditional dancing when we were there. All fun . Drinks are reasonable and they do add 10% service charge but we didn’t knock this off, it seemed mean as they were all so pleasant. We had a mountain view which was lovely with the mist rolling over the tops till the sun came out. In April we got no sun till 6pm. There is no beach so the sea views are literally just that, although you can see the harbour from some rooms and the cruise ships coming in. We had a small balcony, just 2 chairs. They are some Juliette balconies and some larger ones. The corner suites are massive. The rooms are not modern and maybe need a bit of work but perfectly good solid furniture. Totally clean. We had a bath and a shower above which was red hot all the time. Didn’t notice any toiletries except shower cap and dispenser on shower wall. Kettle and provisions, with a bottle of water, replaced daily. Fridge. Only complaint is there were only 2 of everything not 4, so limited, unless you asked, to one cup of coffee each a day! Just returned from a wonderful week (our first in Madeira) at this lovely hotel.. Staff are great especially smiley Santa & Ana in the restaurant..but everyone was friendly and helpful.. Food in the restaurant is delicious & plentiful and we loved dining & looking out at the views over the poolside & beyond., Our room was a ‘Mountain view’ and it certainly lived up to that description! We watched four seasons in one day from our balcony! The room was clean, plenty of space for storage & a big comfortable bed! Would def recommend the free guided walk into Funchal(don’t miss the street with the painted doors) and the 4x 4 excursion to the North West of the island.. All in all we had the best time & didn’t want to come home!

Outstanding hotel - wonderful rooms, great food, amazing spa area. Our 6th time of visiting - it never disappoints. ALL the staff are amazing tbh, particularly ANGEL, a waiter - super helpful, cheerful, always happy to chat. Highly recommend! ⭐️
