LIVVO Lago Taurito Hotel & Aquapark All Inclusive in Taurito

After reading the reviews I was absolutely dreading coming but I needn't have worried. I have stayed in some absolutely lovely hotels and yes, some bits are slightly dated but I honestly couldn't fault a thing! I am a nightmare when it comes to hotels and I can honestly say I probrably enjoyed this more than my 5* hotel in Cyprus. Me and my friend both said I wonder how many people dont book because of the bad reviews and they honestly needn't worry. Staff work so hard and were all polite and helpful,. The rooms kept clean, as were the pool and dining area. Loads of different foods to choose from and have ate like pigs for the last week🤣 Our 8, 17 & 18 year olds had a lovely time too! Will be booking again for next year!

I very very rarely post reviews but I felt I had to due to the amount of bad reviews I had read prior to coming to this hotel/resort. I came with my 10 year old son, just us and I was slightly worried about how it might be due to reading so so many negative reviews about this hotel. However we have had such a lovely time - the hotel is clean, calm and safe. The staff are friendly, the all inclusive offering is great and there is always something nice to eat - including ice cream (lots of flavours)! Both the pool and the water park are great - even though part of the water park was closed for renovation, all the slides were open and it’s a lovely spacious place. Clean, atmospheric and full of happy families. The entertainment team are as good as any other I’ve experienced and the drinks are always flowing (soft drinks are self service so no queueing). If you have a slightly fussy child then there are plenty of little shops and a supermarket on the doorstep where you can buy drinks and snacks. The beach is literally on the doorstep too and you can hear the waves at night which is lovely…we have both slept very well! The highlight is meeting such lovely people here - both my son and I will go home with lovely memories! It’s great value and I really would recommend it for a full family fun experience.

Location The hotel is located in Taurito Gran Canaria and is easy to find in a car. We hired a car from the airport and used "Cicar" who were amazing. We parked just outside of the main hotel complex area on a big gravel/dust car park which was free. Parking on the roadside was 6 euro per day and parking in the underground airport was 10 euro per 24 hour period (midnight to midnight I believe) Gravel car park was a short 8 minute walk away. Check in Easy and fairly quick although the hotel is very very warm and when we arrived no drinks were available. We checked in just before midnight. We was provided with a lunch bag per person which included A sandwich, Bottle of water, Orange, Banana and pack of biscuits. Rooms Whilst the rooms are dated with dark wooden furniture they were at least large enough. They were clean and the beds were ok. My pillow was rock hard and I had to ask for another which they provided. The air conditioning wasn't the greatest, As we had two rooms which were connected via a door we could compare aircon efficiency. My wife's room's aircon was colder and worked better then my room which got cool at the very best. That been said you could tell the aircon was on when you came from outside. My tip is to leave a key in the room to allow the aircon to work 24/7. Cleaners came daily and did a nice job and gave fresh towels every two days. No cleaning on Sunday. All things considered we were super happy with the rooms. Shower in the room was amazing!! Super powerful and hot (or cold depending on preference. A hairdryer was provided in the bathroom although its hit and miss on how good they are. Ours was a decent modern one however my wife's was old and not much use. Food Its all inclusive so you should expect repetitive food. That been said we never went hungry. Here are a couple of examples of what we ate Breakfast Sausages (similar to what we eat in the uk) scrambled egg (very good too) beans (surprisingly tasty) Bacon (not what were used too but edible), croissants, bread, cold meats and cheeses, Fresh fried eggs, boiled eggs, Fruit, Cereal. Hot coffee from a coffee machine (was nice) melted Nutella. Plus more Lunch Chips/fries, Salad, Meats, Pizza (amazing) Chicken nuggets (often cold/luke warm) pasta dishes, Rice dishes, Fish fingers (very nice) fresh grilled fish etc. Lots of choice although mostly repeated Dinner Much the same as lunch but often had grilled meats etc as specials. Biggest suggestion is to not try to eat everything day one to avoid repetitiveness. We ate at all different times (beginning middle and end) of service and we didn't once struggle for a table for the 5 of us. Check the lift for dining times as they sometimes change. Dining staff while sometimes not the friendliest do work extremely hard and are very efficient All inclusive drinks and snacks This was the biggest let down of our holiday if I'm honest. I don’t normally write reviews but i do read them. The reviews for this hotel are very negative and I felt it necessary to comment on our stay in favour of the hard working staff and locals that depend on tourism. The location of the hotel is convenient. surrounded by little local shops and opposite the water park which is free for all inclusive guests at the hotel. It’s within walking distance to the beach which has toilet’s and life guards and sea water showers to wash the sand off your feet. nice local bars and restaurants . Sun beds in December are 10 .50 euros for two chairs and an umbrella all day which was a bargain that supports local business. nestled in the volcanic valley with beautiful sunrises and sun sets . We had a room opposite the pool with a balcony which was noisy at times due to the pool bar music and busy pool . But we weren’t in the room in the day to be bothered that much. At night the local entertainment fun park opens which is extremely noisy effecting all opposing hotels stopped around 11 pm I think but we were asleep by then as a young family who were out all day. We only visited the fun park once as it wasn’t our thing. The staff at the hotel are very friendly when spoken to politely. They worked hard to meet everyone’s needs in the dining area as they cater for the masses of guests. Cleaning tables constantly to reseat the next batch . There was a nice variety of food every day . I felt that they catered for all diets and preferences. They had a freshly grilled station that served tuna steaks , pork chops , chicken . They had salads and many side options . We felt that there was always a new option every day for breakfast lunch and dinner . The seating times vary for all meals some times were busier than others. You can also sit outside . We were there for Christmas Day . The hotel put on a gala dinner with Prosecco welcome drinks for adults and a non alcoholic version for children and non drinkers. They decorated the dining hall and lay Christmas table cloths and napkins to make it feel special . They provided some sushi and prawns and cheeses and hors d'oeuvres for Christmas which was delightful. Some guests dressed up as we did . Some did not. The hotel is a 3 star in many ways , needs a bit of updating as all European 3 star hotels do . But the staff are nice , polite , hard working.Rooms are cleaned daily and spotless the shower is powerful and the rooms have a kitchenette with microwave but have no utensils supplied . You have to hire a kettle if needed. Mainly because guests don’t take care of them. The pool is nice but on the small side , great for kids with plenty of sun beds close to the pool or on the terrace which is quieter . The drinks are included at the pool and provide snacks . Some guests felt it necessary to litter , throw uneaten food on the floor , dumping their plates anywhere rather than at a clearing station. Arguing to the late hours .
