Hotel BlueBay Lanzarote - All inclusive in Costa Teguise

The Blue Bay is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in and that includes my student days! Obviously, it is so disgustingly lacking in cleanliness, dated and run down that it should be knocked down and completely rebuilt. We thought it was cheap because it is a long way from the beach. The eating area resembles a school canteen, loud with dirty and chipped plates, dirty trollies, electric cables lying on the bread rolls, and dirty stained seats. The food is very basic and poorly cooked or even uncooked! We mainly ate out including all dinners. The hotel was very poorly maintained. The general areas have cracked pavements, unmaintained paintwork, damp walls, holes in the ceiling, rusty access areas & everywhere is loud with no quiet areas. It is dirty everywhere including the reception toilets with the underside of the toilet seat covered in faeces! Many faults in our room including a badly designed room layout, awfully uncomfortable beds, loose TV wiring, and the hot drinks were never restocked. It was very noisy at night with the movement of furniture above constantly disturbing your sleep! The excellent shower was the one redeeming feature. Staff are mostly helpful but on our last day at breakfast one gesture to us to be seated but refused to let us sit in the window area. he said there were not any tables (a lie).

I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I have ever been too! Our room was full of tiny insects crawling all over the table and kitchen services. The sofa was so bad it was not fit for purpose. The beds moved across the floor when you got in them and you could feel the springs through the mattress! We had cockroaches and when we went to reception twice to ask to change rooms they were very unhelpful and told us to come back tomorrow. The food was mediocre with flies landing on it! Needless to say we did not even stay the night! We have since found a much better place to stay and a formal complaint has been sent to both the hotel and holiday company.

I’m currently staying in this hotel as I type this, room B206 (1st floor) I’m here with my daughter & 2 grandsons (10 & 12) We checked in Sunday (19.10.25) Sunday evening we went to reception as our room is covered with ants, all over the children’s beds, in the bathroom, on the kitchen side, running up the walls, a maid was sent to our room to change the bedding & we were given a can of spray to put down the following day & told to air the room & told our room would be deep cleaned, Monday I sprayed the room but no one deep cleaned the room that day, fast forward to today (Thursday 23.10.25) I have been to the reception every day to complain about the ants, everyday I’ve been told our room will be deep cleaned, jet 2 rep also spoke to reception on our behalf but still no deep clean had been done, reception staff just fob me off with the same answer, I’ve sprayed the room twice, now have a sore throat from breathing in the spray as I was putting round the edges of the room, we still have ants, on the beds, in the kitchen area, in the bathroom, running up the walls, this hotel is filthy & no one cares, I will again speak with the reception tomorrow but I’m not hopeful, it’s not a great hotel in my opinion, the rooms are dated yes but adequate, the food is ok, there’s something for everyone, the hotel is full so the pool area is busy & all the beds get taken up quite quickly, however there’s no excuse for uncleanliness, I’ve witnessed staff chucking dregs from drinks into bushes, our slushy drink got knocked over round the pool bed, we got someone to come & clean it away to be told ‘that’s ok’ & walked off leaving it where it had spilled 3 days later it was still a now dried out sticky mess on the floor with wooden spoon still stuck to the ground, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, a lady who had been staying here with her 3 children now has a poorly baby with hand,foot & mouth, contracted from this hotel. It shouldn’t take this long or numerous complaints to get a room deep cleaned!!! I literally watched the cleaner do our whole room in 3 minutes flat, changed bedding, swept about 2/3rds of the floor, wipe kitchen side in 10 seconds & mop floors in 1 minute, no sinks no shower, no toilet cleaned at all
