Club Mac in Alcudia

We have just returned from a week at Club Mac, as a family of 7, with kids from age 8-15. We didn’t have high expectations but budget constraints meant it was this, or no holiday. We were actually pleasantly surprised! The rooms were basic but adequate, clean and well maintained. The food - we have stayed in various hotels in Majorca with 3* rating (and I’m very fussy!), and actually found the food ok. The kids absolutely loved it. They LOVED the burger/ chip bar by the pool. The pool areas are clean and well managed. We never struggled to find 7 sun beds either! The hiring of cups is pretty standard across hotels these days I would say and wasn’t a drama. My only criticism would be that during the days of AWFUL rain we had (not the hotels fault!), there was nothing at all to do, and with 5 children this was a challenge. The public areas were cold, with the doors open too. There are only so many games of uno you can play. Overall we had a lovely holiday at what is advertised as a 3* hotel, and I think they do it well.

Our room was ready as soon as we arrived at 11am, usually from experience at other hotels, we have had to hang around until 2pm. The room was very clean with the only downside being the balconies are very small. This resulted in all 3 of us not being able to sit out on the balcony as the sun went down. The food is of a very high standard with lots of choice. There pool areas are kept clean and tidy. The good thing was you have to "rent" plastic cups at 1 euro each. This resulted in no cups being left lying around. Location is a 20min walk to the beach but the hotel offer a free shuttle service every half an hour. Waterpark is free to enter but its not part of the all inclusive. You have to buy food and drink but this was not an issue. You also have to rent the sun loungers unless you want to sit on the floor. Staff were always smiling and pleasant, even to the English which was unusual going from past experiences in Spain. Overall, fully enjoyed our break and would definately return

We had an amazing time at Club Mac! The place is fantastic, especially for families. There’s so much to do for kids throughout the day that they’re never bored, and the activities are really well organised. The food was great with loads of choices, and we loved that snacks were provided throughout the day — you never walk away hungry! The entertainment was also very good, especially in the evenings, which were always fun and lively. It’s also great that they have a free bus to take you to an amazing beach, which made days out really easy. The location is very convenient too — only about 45 minutes from the airport. There’s also a water park within walking distance, which was a huge plus for us. The heated pool was a big bonus for us. Visiting in April, we wouldn’t have been able to use the other pools as the water was freezing, so having a heated pool made a huge difference and the kids loved it. The rooms are basic but clean, which honestly didn’t bother us at all since we only used them for sleeping. The only downside for us was the coffee. There’s no coffee in the room, and the taste from the coffee machine wasn’t great. Other than that small point, everything else was brilliant. We had an amazing holiday and will definitely come back again! ⭐

Fabulous hotel. Super clean and lovely staff. Food is great and something for everyone. There is so much to do here and the water park is fantastic (especially the wave pool!) Incredible value for money.

We were very nervous after we read some not so great reviews before coming, but please ignore the negatives. We have loved our stay and have said we’d come again. We think it’s been excellent value for money. We only have one full day left and will be sad to go! Pros Room was clean on arrival, beds were comfy. Shower was a waterfall one and was lovely and easy to use. A nice, albeit small balcony, with a dryer for clothes. Plenty of choice for food- yes you do have to queue at dinner time, but we were there during the Easter holidays, so I expected this. Lots of pools on site including a splash park which our 3 yr old loved. We were always able to get enough sunbeds for the three of us, baring in mind we are not sun worshippers so only used the pools after lunch. You get given drink tokens which you exchanged for your cup- stopped littering around the hotel. We thought this was a great idea. Entrance to the hydro park- wasn’t expecting this as we thought it didn’t open until May. We went once, and enjoyed it. I know there’s lots of reviews talking about the conduct of other guests- ours was positive. It’s mostly families and our daughter made lots of friends. The comments about it being like Butlins abroad have left me confused- it’s a family friendly hotel, with lots of entertainment on for children. Of course it’ll feel a bit like Butlins abroad! Our daughter loved meeting the mascots and loved the mini disco. We had a day out in the old town for Easter Sunday - husband asked one of the women on the front desk for advice on buses etc and found her extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the local area. The aircon isn’t on this time of year (April) but it’s been a lovely hot week, so bedroom was hot at night, can’t keep the door open due to mozzies. Husband asked at the Jet2 desk for a fan as I’m 5 months pregnant, Trudy worked really hard to get us a fan for our room, which I was really grateful for. Cons We stayed in a room overlooking the car park (that didn’t bother us- someone has to) the problem was that one of the mornings we were woken up in the early hours (1am ish) by a reversing lorry in the car park.- But that has only been the once. At the splash park on site it’s unmanned. It clearly says no smoking, which was largely fine. On one of our last days a family turned up and proceeded to chain smoke. With no staff about I didn’t feel comfortable telling them to stop, so we moved on to a different pool. Alcudia is beautiful and the port is easily walkable with a beautiful beach and lots of trinket shops, but if you like getting out and about, you may find the area itself too quiet.

I had low expectations of this place given some of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's excellent value for money, the food is fantastic, the service is very good, there is so much for kids to do, parents can actually relax. Some of the comments about guests are in my experience misplaced. It's a working class respectful clientelle and everyone was courteous and mannerly. It might get rowdier in July and August and I wasn't up late at night, but for an all inclusive family holiday in June; you won't do better.
