Where to stay in Alcudia

We have just returned from a week at Club Mac, as a family of 7, with kids from age 8-15. We didn’t have high expectations but budget constraints meant it was this, or no holiday. We were actually pleasantly surprised! The rooms were basic but adequate, clean and well maintained. The food - we have stayed in various hotels in Majorca with 3* rating (and I’m very fussy!), and actually found the food...

Our room was ready as soon as we arrived at 11am, usually from experience at other hotels, we have had to hang around until 2pm. The room was very clean with the only downside being the balconies are very small. This resulted in all 3 of us not being able to sit out on the balcony as the sun went down. The food is of a very high standard with lots of choice. There pool areas are kept clean and tidy...

We had an amazing time at Club Mac! The place is fantastic, especially for families. There’s so much to do for kids throughout the day that they’re never bored, and the activities are really well organised. Fabulous hotel. Super clean and lovely staff. Food is great and something for everyone. There is so much to do here and the water park is fantastic (especially the wave pool!) Incredible value for money.

Staff was great. Pretty isolated from most things without a rental car. There were buses constantly running but it wasnt real easy to navigate the bus routes to get around.

Everything in the hotel is fine. Lot of facilities. Not a place where you can lay on the beach. Too small and next to a busy road. Mosquitos in the park deliver discomfort.

Great stay - kids loved the pool area and the bedroom for 4 was fine for a young family. Buffet is as you would expect for an all-inclusive package, but the grill restaurant (extra cost) was delicious on the 1 night we had it. Location is fine, in between Porte Pollencia and Alcudia, but plenty of bus and taxi services available to get you where you want to go.

Very clean, lots of space for parking around the area. Everyone working on the hotel very kind and serviceminded. Ok location. Rooms were very loud however and beds rock hard, might as well be sleeping on the floor. Could have returned if it wasn’t for the beds unfortunately.

Fantastic holiday in Ciudad Blanca!! The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times. The food was delicious and there was plenty of variety. The entertainment for children throughout the day was ideal; my children didn't miss a single mini disco! The room was spacious and very clean every day! The hotel is very old, and the "sea view apartment" doesn't actually have a sea view at all. The bed creaks, and the curtains don't block out light. The receptionist has a heavy English accent and is not very friendly. The all-inclusive drinks are watered down, which is a major drawback. The only redeeming quality is that the staff at the restaurant's grilling meat window are very friendly.

Just back from a week at this hotel, and have to say it was brilliant, hotel very clean, staff great, kids loved the kids club and couldn't get them out of the pool. Rooms were great, was better than I expected. The pool was cleaned every night with some sort of machine ready for the next day. Food in the diner was great to, lots of variety. Beautiful hotel with great vibes, rooms modern and clean. Buffet food had a good selection but food not very warm and quality was above average. Drinks expensive at dinner and in bar and bar service was poor, not once were we approached by a member of staff to order a drink we had to flag people down. Good but not 4 star Perfectly adequate hotel in a good position for the main beach and harbour. Nice pool area and plenty of sunbeds; guests weren't reserving beds and not using them. The hotel is good value for money, but I booked it temporarily when I went to the wrong place. You get what you pay for, and don’t expect too much luxury or great service. Very close to the station, suitable for traveling to other cities.

Just returned from a 5 night stay with my husband and son. Hotel was lovely, spotlessly clean, our room was lovely and bright with a sea view. Would highly recommend, my only tiny complaint was the cooked breakfast which was cold. Great location, 20 minute walk from the port, in a lovely quiet residential area. Would definitely stay again.

We have a boat in the marina and use the hotel probably 3 or 4 times a week for drinks and to watch the cabarets. We cannot fault any of the staff, they are all excellent from the reception to the management to the bar staff and servers. Always pleased to see us with big smiles and now even hugs. Lovely setting for the hotel, rooms were clean ,staff were friendly and helpful, felt the air conditioning could have been better ,had to leave it on constantly to try keep room cool, Only ate a couple of times at the hotel in the evening as there wasn't anything I liked on the menu (plain eater) I can normally get by with some bread and chips but they were always cold ,as was the cooked food at breakfast

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Viva Golf, and have ZERO complaints. I stayed in a Selection Club duplex room with its own rooftop patio, sun lounges and private mini pool. Very clean hotel and good entertainment for the kids, good location only 5 minutes walk to the beach and resteraunts/shops. Our only issue was our 3year old son slipped on the bathroom floor whilst supervised and banged his head on a small tile step when coming out of the shower and resulted in needing 3staples at the hospital. Had our first family holiday abroad at this fantastic hotel. We all absolutely loved it. Brilliant location with an easy walk to the beach and to the old town. Have recently returned from a 2 week holiday at this resort. Firstly negatives, booking in procedure was very slow as there was a coach load of guests arrived all at once at the start of lunchtime. They did apologise and issued our wrists bands in the queue and suggested that we went into lunch and book in afterwards. No bins in our room toilet seat wasnt clean and mirrors had dirty finger prints all over the mirror. Balcoany look little worse for wear loads of deep cracks making it little weary where ur standing. Food okay but always same food but id say its okay if you here for 2/3days but not the week

The suites are amazingly spacious and very clean. hotel is really well located we walked to old town alcudia from there, long walk but worth it as the buses passing by were pack solid. Very closed to the beach. Only downside is the size of the interior pool as there was a big storm in the island the pool was super small and very overcrowded.

The hotel is generally good and being out of season, not too busy. My main complaint would be that we paid extra for a lake view. However we overlook the tennis courts with lessons all day long, with a kids bouncy castle beneath (kids screaming till 10pm some nights), plus skips being filled with end of season furniture! Good facilities, lovely staff, right next to the beach, cycling facilities, family friendly. Not a lot around it and a bit out of town, was glad to have a car, but it is on a main bus route.

We were looking for a relaxing beach holiday and Sofia Alcudia Beach turned out to be the perfect choice. We had a fantastic stay at Sophia Alcudier Hotel – it’s truly perfect for families, especially small ones! The location couldn't be better – just under 30 meters to the beach from our apartment, which made it super convenient for quick beach trips with our toddler.
