Estival Maramar in Coma-Ruga

Where to start! Arrived at the hotel room looked lovely, looking at the floor it had blood coloured stains. Asked the reception to clean to be told will tell maintenance to add it to there list, the following day rooms cleaned not touched the stains, went back down to reception as we had an ant infestation, so asked them to sort that out and again complained about the stains. To which a member off staff came to the room to sort the ant issue out all she had was pest killer and didn’t know how to use it, the worst thing about this is where the ants were coming from was behind the couch which hadn’t been cleaned and crumbs were left there from previous people, Still have the odd ant here and there 3 days later. Everything the hotel offer is a complete lie. Theres a list of things that the hotel offers during the day/night for kids and entertainment during the day. Not a single one has happened, advertised water activities and mini disco didn’t happen. Adult entertainment was advertised on screens round hotel of different things each night but was just a singer every night apart from Friday a magic show. complained to the members off staff about this just to be told that “they dont deal with that it’s someone else” which is a common thing whenever you speak to any member off staff at the hotel. The service is dreadful as staff barely understand a word of English not their fault but the hotels for hiring them without knowing English. There’s absolutely nothing near the hotel. It’s located in a housing estate just slapped there, nearest shop is a 15 minute walks. One night we wanted to watch football but was told we wasn’t allowed as there was entertainment on, where as the whole week we had been staying football and entertainment had been on, funnily enough that night the entertainment was a Spanish themed night. Serving staff at the bar have a dreadful attitude, huff and puff when asked for drinks over 2 quantity. Food is basic, Most nights awful, breakfast is the usual scrapped together Spanish rubbish, only decent thing about breakfast is the pastries, Dinner and tea is the same on repeat with 1 or 2 things changed, most of the food was lukewarm and the plates were dirty, Again can’t go eat out because there’s nothing near. Walls are like plastic so can hear anything next door or in the corridor. To get to salou you have to by train or taxi and taxi fare is 80-95 euros!!
Plates and utensils don’t get washed properly found myself going through 2 or 3 plates just to find a clean one! A lot of the toilets including disabled do not lock! Overall a awful hotel for 4* price paid £1762

Cups were stained with lipstick
Bar staff on the day of leaving wouldn’t serve us as the rooms had switched over even though the front desk told us we could use the services until we left!

It is rated as a four star hotel,unless they have pinched them from somewhere , I don't know how they have obtained then. Various issues with the place ,one particular one being the door on the balcony cannot lock- not ideal when we have young children and it adjoins a flat roof where by it would be easy for someone to hop over onto the balcony and get in.
Genuinely it has put us off revisiting Spain I'm any capacity as if this place is what constitutes a four star hotel then I have no faith in their grading system.
