Syncrosfera Fitness & Spa Health Hotel Boutique in Denia

Updated following bullying on whatsapp from Sandra Druelle 'Front Office Manager' - because I refused to update my previous review to give them 4 stars despite their restaurant making us physically sick, they decided to charge my credit card for another night's stay 2 weeks after we checked out! Police and HSBC fraud team now engaged. My original review: Could be amazing, but falls short everywhere. Terrible restaurant. Review of Syncrosfera Reviewed 2 weeks ago Having stayed at several other sports resorts (La Santa, Play Itas, Barcelo) and having watched the videos on Syncrosfera we were really excited to have a week here, however we had to leave after the first night and find somewhere else to stay. The location and facilities are amazing, but the overriding reason we had to leave was because of the restaurant. We booked half board, and were expecting a buffet dinner in the evening. However on our first night we went down for dinner at 1930 (when the restaurant opens which I must admit is very late for a sports resort) and were given a set menu. There was only one vegetarian disk (veg paella). We queried this with the staff and were advised that because the hotel was quiet (during Easter holiday week, so alarm bells should have been ringing), there would be no buffet and only the set menu each day. I said there's no way I can train on my bike 4hrs-6hrs a day and have paella 7 times, so the manager said that he would ask the staff to do something different each day. Fair enough we though, we'll give them the chance. The paella arrived, and it did look decent however it was literally loaded with so much salt that it was borderline inedible. As we were both hungry we stupidly ate about half of it. When the manager came to check if everything was ok, I asked him to taste it and in fairness to him he was disgusted. He did offer to go and find us something else to eat, but by that point all we wanted was an ice cream and to go to bed. By this stage, we'd made the decision that we were going to check out in the morning and find somewhere else. We advised the receptionist of the problems on the way to our room and she said that there would be a manager in the hotel at 0700hrs the next day and to speak to her because we said we were only willing to pay for 1 night. Surely enough, both of us were unwell through the night, couldn't train the following morning and definitely couldn't have breakfast. The following morning we went to check out and see the manager only to be told there was no manager going to be in until 1500, however they would call them at 0900 for us. To be honest, the food was just the final thing that convinced us not to stay any longer. A few of the other issues: Yes, the sports facilities are great however the gym doesn't open until 0800 so you can't train before breakfast. For a sports resort this is useless. Likewise the times of the restaurant for a sports resort just don't work. Dinner isn't until 1930, and as above I don't trust

The shower in the bedroom was hopeless, yes it's a flash design in a wetroom but useless for actually washing yourself and it floods the whole bathroom area and beyond. Overall we're both just really disappointed. This place could be amazing, but it's just not. Wish I'd gone back to Barcelo instead which is also significantly less expensive.
