Cala Joncols in Roses

We stayed at this hotel at pre season - mid of May 2022. And this place is really amazing! If you intend to drive there, you should not trust GPS Navigation - you will get lost - as we did. Better to ask front desk for guidance - or for a SUV or Boat transfer to the hotel. The access road is unpaved and rough. We booked a room with balcony and free view to the wonderful bay. At our stay we did not use any boat or diving experience. We enjoyed the very quiet environment of this beauty of a hotel. And do not forget to enjoy the Hotel kitchen. Plates are just great! Seafood and fish are prepared carefully at Catalan style. For meat lovers - ask Michael for the meet of the day. He will probably offer you a great piece of beef, cooked 24 hours on low temperature. As a long standing Prime Rib lover, I was amazed about this plate. Unbeatable!

Hotel Cala Joncols must be the most beautiful and isolated hotel in Catalunya. If you are looking for somewhere unique and quiet, this is the place. The location, room, food and service exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend getting the full pension (breakfast, lunch and dinner included) as the food is outstanding, its a really good value for money (and the closest restaurant is a 20-min walk away).

To get there: do not follow the GPS (especially coming from Cadaques), follow the hotel’s instructions (drive through Roses). It’s a dirt road for 30mins, landscapes are beautiful and the end destination is so worth it.

We spent our honeymoon there in 2017 and we came back in 2020 and hopefully this year!

Perfect stay, love the bar near the ocean nice bossa nova music and great cocktail.

An amazing drive takes you to an amazing hotel. The price point keeps the clientele to a nice level. The building itself is well maintained and simply gorgeous, big enough rooms with unbeatable sea views. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The staff are professional and friendly. Stunning exotics gardens, swimming pool and acces to a breathtaking bay with a pebble beach.
But....the restaurant is a total let-down. Dinner was so bad we didn’t want to stay for lunch the next day. (Although breakfast was very pleasant). Dinner was a disaster. I don’t mind the crazy high prices but the quality and preparation needs improvement. A big shame to another wise great weekend.

Perfect seaside hotel. Beautiful secluded beach, great food and plenty of things to do wether you like peacefulness or are willing to be more active. It is a bit on the pricey side and since it is secluded you have no other option...but then there aren’t many places that have the privilege of this location. We’ll definitely come back!
