Reviews
I stayed one night at Hotel Kilimanjaro in October 2025, and it was one of the most shocking hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Upon entering our first room (401), there was an overwhelming musty odour and black mould visibly growing around the air-conditioning vent. The air felt damp and unhealthy to breathe. When we asked to move rooms, we were shown two others (205 and 110) — both had strong damp smells, water damage, and in one case more visible mould near the air duct.
This was especially alarming as one of my friends suffers from asthma and another from a chronic cough. Black mould (Stachybotrys chartarum) is known to cause serious respiratory and long-term health problems, and clearly should never be present in guest areas.
We informed the staff immediately and were told to speak with the general manager in the morning about a refund. When we returned, the day receptionist was dismissive, claimed the manager was not available, and offered no assistance whatsoever. We have yet to receive a reply from the hotel.
We had no choice but to check out early for our own safety and rebook at another property, incurring additional expenses.
If you value your health, I strongly urge you to avoid this hotel until they address the severe mould contamination and lack of management accountability. No guest should have to experience this
The only negative thing is the noise..the hotel staff should be more mindful of disrespectful guests staying in hotel that make a lot of noise late at night and take some prevention to guarantee good stay in a good and respectful environment for everyone.
Nice check-in by Martina who made a good first impression and has a great sense of humour.
The room was small but practical, what yiu would expect for the price paid. A kettle for tea and coffee would have made it much better.
Excellent outdoor pool on the 2nd floor, with a bar that becomes the hub of the hotel.
My room had city views and a generous balcony.
On the first day in the hotel we realised it looked nothing like on the pictures, some parts of the hotel looked better than others. On the second day at the hotel a random sock appeared in our room which wasn’t any of ours, we didn’t want our room cleaned on that day, which we put the signs on outside door. The third day was the worst day for us, before we left the room to enjoy our stay in Mallorca, we wanted to have our room cleaned that day, my mum told me to put my airpods in my bag and not leave it out in the open - I put my airpods in my handbags small pocket like I always do, her and my dad both put their airpods in their bag and we put the bags in the storage cabinet which has sliding doors. When we came back from our trip my mum wanted to use her airpods so she went and checked in her bag to realise hers and mine were gone my dads were still inside just in another part of the bag, not only were they taken but also the room wasn’t cleaned at, the only parts that were cleaned was the bed being made and new bathroom towels, the rubbish was still in the bin, the floor was still dirty and not only that but our stuff was taken . We went to front desk to reported that the AirPod are missing from our room, they sent the cleanest to our room to explain to us what happen, but unfortunately they can’t speak english so they can’t communicate to us, and no one from reception joined them to translate. We have waited for some news from the front desk but no one came to us to talk, so we decided to speak with someone next day, which wasn’t good news for us, they said that they aren’t able to do anything about that and we shouldn’t keep our goods in the room. So this looks like the hotel allows stealing items from customers. Also for the rest of our stay wherever we saw the cleaners, we felt as we have done something wrong, because we asked for our stuff back.
The hotel slipped a letter to our room, to say that they are sorry we “lost” our belongings and they give us a gift of 3free drinks from their bar. Which we of course declined that offer.
We are not recommending that hotel, as we had bad experience.
Hotel as a whole was very clean (reception, hallway, pool and rooms). All the staff we encountered were very helpful and approachable. Good location placed at one end of the strip so quieter than being center of the strip.
Only negatives for us were the hard mattresses (personal preference, though) and noisey neighbours or paper thin walls couldn't figure out which one it was.
On departure, the reception night worker ordered us a taxi to the airport (4am) which arrived in 2 minutes! Overall, was impressed with the hotel for the price we paid.
