Absolutely loved our stay here! Extremely clean rooms and beautiful pool area. Staff were so helpful and attentive! Steep hill to get into hotel but ring a bell and within a minute a tuk tuk arrives at the bottom to take you up so it’s no problem at all. So close to all restaurants / bars / cafes. Highly recommend!

Hotel is very uphill and they don’t provide dinner, moreover if you go out for dinner or party then after 10pm they don’t provide tuk tuk service also, so after coming back to property you have climb the very very steep uphill by yourselves in the dark.

Don’t book this hotel through Airbnb, as there is a third party agent who doesn’t belongs to property, that person is not at all cooperative, very clever and irresponsible, he will just take your money and then don’t reply.

When I reached hotel things were not like as mentioned or few things were not even mentioned on air bnb, the hotel staff directly told us to cancel the booking if we are not comfortable and we will get the refund, but the agent Askalu being clever refused to give refund.

View from this hotel is fantastic. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Pool was lovely to relax at. Long steep driveway from the main road, the hotel runs a tuk tuk service to bring you up if needed. Wifi here only worked roughly half out stay. DONT BOOK VIA AIRBNB

You can't beat this hotel for beautiful view, warm and friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms and the best breakfast presentation the entire trip! If you are seeking quiet but close to ocean and restaurants this is the place!

This is a really good option for Unawatuna. It is set above the road (quite busy) and is an oasis of well designed chalets and the main the building. The pool is fantastic. Breakfast is available and we were told by guests that it was very good. The staff are wonderful. Friendly and very helpful. The rooms are spotless. The tuk tuk is always available to get from the front gate - many steps and quite steep if you decide to walk it (I did!).
There are two large tortoises and two dogs on site.
Only two slight negatives for me - the barking of the dogs (not all the time!) and no hot water tap on the sink - a very good shower though.
There are many good restaurants within easy walking distance. We recommend The Bar and Black and White (both across the road and on the beach).

Amazing place with an excellent breakfast. Worth the little $ splurge.
The view is enough to keep you in the grounds all day.
The beach opposite is very good with many restaurants.
Our best stay in the 28 days we spent in Sri Lanka.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Hotel Panorama. The bungalow was clean and spacious and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The gardens and views looking down over the bay are gorgeous. But like all views from such a vantage point, has a hill to climb however this was not a problem and when we were being lazy, we just rung the bell at the gates and the staff drove the tuk tuk down to take us up. Breakfast: fruit, eggs etc, toast, tea or coffee and of course the Sri Lankan breakfast which I highly recommend. Lots of animals including monkeys and birds too see and of course, not forgetting the resident tortoises 😊 A lovely place to stay and I'd like to thank the staff for their kindness and hospitality

Our last two nights of a lovely holiday. The views are breathtaking and it was only about 200m from the front gate to the wonderful beach, which was fabulous during the day and vibrant in the evening, with lots of restaurants. Our room was excellent, the staff and the pool lovely, the 'eastern' breakfast option superb. I would highly recommend.

There are many pros and cons to this hotel. Firstly the good points - Large living space in the bungalows. Amazing high views of the bay. Friendly staff. Very Clean. The breakfast was excellent , freshly cooked to order. The “not so good bits ” No safety deposit box in the rooms ( have to use the hotels safe) No Wi-Fi in your room or balcony ( common areas only ) Very steep steps/ ramp up to the hotel ( there is a free tuktuk to get you up to the hotel 1 person at a time) Very limit foreign exchange ( max £50) Cash only ( no card payment ) No TV in the room - No gym on site
