Kata Leaf Resort in Kata

This place is not good. If I could write a review without stars, I would. We arrived and were asked to pay. No problem. We’d like cash. Sorry, no. A 3% service fee attached- very rude about it. We were shown to our accommodations: We had to drag our luggage across gravel, over rocks, up a few stairs and around a sharp bend. 2 bedroom bungalow was the advertised rooms. The front door is a sliding door, the “bungalow was humid, wet, smelled of mold, dark. We hesitated to even stay, but had been traveling most of the day and thought we could make do. After we came back from an early dinner, we arrived to find the air conditioning was no longer working. The kitchen only provided a floor fan and only a few light switches actually worked in the entire house. We spent 1 night with a 4 night booking now paid for. Once we woke up to make coffee, we found the electric kettle was either dirty or rusted. The shower was flooding the bathroom floor, no way to get to the sink without walking through 2-3” of water. We packed and spoke to the owner, Nicky who refused to refund our balance.
The staff was rude. The owner was aggressive and condescending. I would recommend to look elsewhere!

Kata Leaf and Kata Villas is run by a French guy from Paris, there is a restaurant and around 40-60 rooms. Prices around 1200 thai bath or more.

Its central and close to both kata beach and kata noi. My feeling about Kata in general has diminished over time, I would recommend people to visit Krabi or Koh Lanta for more genuine vacations. Some streets are abandoned and empty, I find it also more tricky to visit southwest Phuket then before, the big bus station is far from the local bus station, and that busses are really slow and old. If you travel alone, I suggest you take a motorbiketaxi if you're not the kind of traveller who uses extreme amounts of luggage.
