However, several friends and family members who stayed here a few years ago all had positive things to say, so I ultimately chose this hotel. My actual experience was better and more consistent than expected

There was a faint pleasant scent upon entering, which shows the hotel puts extra effort into air quality management. Phuket's climate is inherently humid, so a slight feeling of dampness is normal

The front desk staff were friendly and patient; I didn't encounter any of the attitude problems mentioned in other reviews. The room itself didn't have any noticeable dampness or musty smells

Breakfast was decent; I think some reviews complained about the food because they weren't used to Western-style breakfasts and might have been hoping for wontons or noodles

There was Thai rice vermicelli among the hot food, which was good enough. The hotel is massive, with at least five or six pools. I only used the one in front of my room, which was great and very convenient

Overall, the hotel has a resort-like atmosphere with lush greenery and a relaxing vibe. There's a wide variety of dining options, so you can easily have all your meals on-site

The soundproofing is excellent; even though there's a kids' pool and water slide right outside, there's no noise, it's very quiet. The breakfast selection is incredibly rich

The only minor issue was that the shower drain was a bit slow. I can understand why though; being so close to the beach, I brought back quite a bit of sand after swimming, so it makes sense why it might get clogged

The family room on the seventh floor was generally good. It wasn't damp, had a nice view, and the overall cleanliness was decent, though a few small bugs are to be expected in a tropical region

Had a family holiday here for a week. The staff were amazing and spacious rooms. The swimming pool and slides were awesome to keep the kids entertained. The only negative was the buffet breakfast which was average

The resort environment is pretty good. I was a bit worried at first because I saw a lot of negative reviews, but after checking in, the air conditioning wasn't cooling well on the first night

The pools and slides are great for the kids and at the quieter times in the evening great for a late swim too

Soap is only available as liquid, and each person gets only two towels, which are worn out and not pure white. The mattress is saggy and soft

Check-in was also an issue; they were slow. We arrived at 12 PM but only got into our room at 2:30 PM. And the room wasn't cheap; we paid 13,000 rubles per night. We stayed during peak season, January 2026

An older hotel with an excellent location, close to both Kata and Karon. However, the linens were subpar, and the water quality was terrible. I'd recommend bringing your own filter shower head.

It's about a 15-minute walk to the street with cafes, but the uphill walk back to the hotel isn't comfortable. Taxis won't take you for 100 baht; you have to offer 200 baht for them to agree

The breakfasts are repetitive; there's nothing 'wow. ' The fruit selection is poor, but they do offer European bread, which isn't common in other hotels

Water pressure is weak, making it hard to wash long hair, and no conditioner is provided. On top of all that, the hotel is located on a hill

Traveling solo, I'd really recommend this hotel. Even though the facilities are a bit old, the environment is nice and the room is very spacious. I suggest everyone book their rooms through Trip

The floor-to-ceiling windows are also very comfortable. The hotel charges 249 Thai Baht per day for children's breakfast. A deposit is required upon check-in

Staff are wonderful, room was nice but basic. Cleaned daily, fresh towels and water daily. Pools are lovely but no handrails for easy access. Lovely place but not suitable for mobile disability

The hotel's location is good, within walking distance to Kata Beach, and there are many foreign residents around

The hotel breakfast is average; I've been to Phuket many times, and for this price range, this hotel's breakfast is the worst, though it's still edible. The hotel's environment and hygiene are good, very clean

Friendly staff with good facilities. Provides beach/pool towels for your use and conveniently located at Kata area. Don’t provide toothbrush and toothpaste but you can buy them at the 7/11 nearby

Stunning rooms, a really cool pool that runs throughout the hotel, and the best breakfast we’ve ever had traveling. This place also has the nicest gym I’ve ever seen in a hotel

Love this hotel! I really love the environment — very natural and calm. The room looks a bit old, but it’s big and I like that it has a bathtub and direct pool access

None of the TV channels are in English but you’re on vacation so you should be watching tv anyways, and almost all the staff speak perfect English (a few exceptions that are still learning English) It’s not right against Kata beach but it’s an easy walk and they offer a shuttle every day

The staff named Wee (not sure if I got the name right) was very kind and took good care of my baby. She was lovely and my baby enjoyed it so much

Gym room is well-equipped with machines. However, improvement need to be made on the housekeeping part. Our room didn’t refilled with enough towel and toothpaste. Even we made request by phone, we didn’t get new towels

We will come back again! The only small issue was there was some sand in front of the door and on the table. Even after cleaning, it still appeared, and I’m not sure where it came from

The hotel also offers a variety of activities that are great for kids like movie night and water plays which gave us parents some much-needed downtime to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings

Noise issue: Initially, I stayed in room 1605 facing the street. I couldn't fall asleep until past 3 AM due to the noise from bars, traffic, roaring motorcycles, and crowds on the main road

The breakfast was delicious and varied daily, and the location was convenient. The towel service by the pool was excellent, and the front desk staff spoke Chinese, which made traveling with parents and children very easy

The rooms, dining, and pool were all great, and the pool's back exit leads directly to the beach. They even had movie nights, and I participated in a cardio session on the lawn with other guests

Some of the highly-rated restaurants on Dazhong Dianping might have gotten their ratings through soliciting reviews. The pizza in the annex building was excellent, and the kids' pizza-making class was a lot of fun

It's also convenient for massages and dining nearby, which is probably why there were quite a few Chinese guests

I enjoyed the stay here! The hotel's massive, with 2 giant swimming pools. Food options are amazing but only for breakfast. The lack of vegetarian options during lunch and dinner were so less that we had to eat elsewhere

Unfortunately this was a common theme. We noticed a pool table in the lobby and I was excited to have a few games. The pool cues are broken, the table is awful and all the balls just end up at the sides

We also only had one towel returned to us and one day they took the bath mat and we had to ask for it back! The breakfast was quite poor. There is no air con in the breakfast area or the lobby

We had an overall very good stay at Novotel Kata Avista. There was one unpleasant incident during our stay which I prefer not to detail here, as it was handled professionally and elegantly by the reception team

I appreciated the way the situation was managed. Food quality was good, but in my view overpriced. If I were to return, I would choose breakfast only rather than half board

We had an issue with our Accor membership and the front desk staff sorted it out after a few hours - so that was excellent. The staff are lovely and accomodating but I found we really needed to search for staff at times

With two air conditioners, the temperature was perfect at all times, and housekeeping changed our towels and cleaned every single day. They do require a €100 deposit per room, but we had no issues getting it back

The hotel itself has three swimming pools, and the reception hall is very spacious. The breakfast in the morning is also quite good. The location is also very convenient

The hotel also has a gym and a pool, which we didn’t end up using because we spent most of our time exploring Phuket, but it’s nice to have those options

The lovely receptionist even helped us with our luggage, and we had quite a lot! The room itself exceeded our expectations: a spacious kitchen with an island, a cozy living room with a TV and couch, and a large bathroom with a huge mirror, a bathtub, and a separate shower - perfect whether you prefer a bath or a shower

We visited from November 27th to December 4th, and from the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised - not only by how welcoming and polite the staff were, but also by everything the hotel offered

If you rent a scooter, getting to the beach is incredibly fast, and it's only about a ten-minute walk. The hotel is also very, very close to a street food area where the snacks are cheap and delicious

There is a lovely outdoor pool play area and pool table are under cover. Would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel located on a hill just a few walk to the beach and convenient store, parking is limited, pool is nice.

My Daughter and I stayed here for 6 nights and loved every mintue, ideal location although it does have steps up to reception and to the rooms but there is a services to be taken to your room via an vehicle

Recommended for staying near Kata beach! Very nice people working there. Room is clean and bed is huge, with an awesome view of the beac. Lots of stairs but nice workout ;)

Bathroom was like a spa bathroom, with massive bath, shower and lovely vanity. The pool is amazing and everything was very clean. Breakfast was good, your usual Thailand breakfast with a mix of western and thai options

This place is located on the main road in Kata. The rooms and swimming pool are well maintained. The breakfast buffet was decent as well. Overall, it’s a good place to stay.

The only minor inconvenience is the lack of power sockets near the bed. Toiletries are decent, and they provide extra towels for the pool or beach

Breakfast wasn’t great, room was spacious. Had fresh towels everyday. At 6am every morning you will hear sweeping/ cleaning outside your room which can wake you up.

It’s central yet quiet, which is a big plus. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, featuring big, comfy beds, a warm shower, a garden shower, and a small terrace with direct pool access

3/5 The hotel has two pools, they are clean and well-maintained, but the pool bar has been closed for a long time. No entertainment in the hotel. 3/5 Rooms are cleaned every day, even if you don’t want it

One issue is sunbeds, get down to the pool after 9am and towels left out but no one visits all day. Staff try their best to manage this but unfortunately a lot of the hotel residents were very selfish and rude

If it weren’t for the exceptional assistance and dedication of the staff — especially San and Tanu — we may not have given this a five-star rating

The hotel staff were all very nice,very polite and very attentive. The hotel is right on the beach. Rooms are large and cleaned everyday

Almost had to climb out to see the ocean, because we could only see the pool from inside

However, we were initially placed in a room with a connecting door, and unfortunately the soundproofing between these rooms was very poor. We could hear everything from our neighbours, which made it uncomfortable

This hotel is perfect for a couples' getaway. The location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk to Kata Beach, and surrounded by plenty of restaurants and convenience stores

Just a 7 minutes walk from the left side of the hotel entrance will take you to the main road and a 2 minutes walk from the right side will bring you to a small night market where it is quieter, easier to find a seating place and not that hot

We love sitting there in the morning for a cup of coffee and at night when we are back from dinner/supper with a nice cold drink or beer. This will definitely help to keep guests cool during the hot months in Phuket

Really nice place to stay if visiting phuket. All the staff members are amazing, everyone very kind and they always made sure everything is ok. The hotel is at a nice location

Good location near Kata night market and walking street. There are three swimming pools and hours are reasonable. The room is clean although the facilities are outdated. There are no electrical outlets near any bed side

But i still think the structures were bit moldy, because most of the mornings my throat was sore and my wife got flu for half of the week while being there. Pool area was nice and in couple different pools in layers

The staff are exceptional, helpful and friendly and make a real effort during your stay. It is on a hill but a regular free taxi shuttle service down into Kata is great. Would recommend this hotel in Phuket

Returned to the hotel for the second time. We were here last year. I love the villa. The view there is gorgeous.

The scenery is absolutely stunning. Kata Beach's sea and sand are much cleaner and more beautiful than other beaches. The private pool in our room was amazing, and even though it was a pool villa, we still had a sea view

Facilities: The attention to detail is impressive, perfect for couples. I absolutely loved the heated pool. Environment: The unobstructed sea view is incredibly beautiful

The oversized bathroom and room layout were very comfortable. There are also good restaurants and a 7-Eleven conveniently located near the hotel. My favorite spot was definitely the breakfast restaurant

Special mention to the Thai restaurant which serves delicious and instagram-able food and the private chef dinner experience at the Kissing Point which was the highlight of our stay

It was semi-buffet style, and the à la carte items took ages to arrive, same with coffee. They couldn't remember what we ordered and would come back to reconfirm our coffee choice. This happened twice on the same day

I stayed at three hotels in Phuket this trip: a 5500 baht per night pool villa, an 1800 baht local specialty hotel, and the SIS. Personally, I found SIS to be the best value for money and the most satisfying of the three

The hotel's service, room size, and overall environment truly justify the price of just over 1000 during peak season. The breakfast and pool, in particular, were absolutely fantastic

The slope leading up to the hotel entrance is quite a trek, really works your legs. The private pool in the room was a nice touch, and the open-air restaurant was surprisingly good

Super satisfied! Everything was fantastic except for the big slope at the entrance. They have a pool where you can sunbathe. It's a shame I only had 4 days in Phuket; I wish I could've stayed longer

At check-in, our 16-year-old was charged as an extra adult despite being declared during booking, which was disappointing. The pool access room was nice, but the pool itself is very small—more for dipping than swimming

Sugar Palms is a beautiful hotel. A quick 5 min walk to the beach which is amazing!!! The pools are wonderful with different bed/chair options. Breakfast has an assortment of different options

Pool Access Room The location is convenient, but our stay had several inconveniences. The slope up to the rooms is extremely steep, so we relied on the buggy service (5–10 mins wait each time)

Breakfast was 350 baht per person with limited variety. Overall, convenient location but the steep hill, extra charges, small pool, and average breakfast affected our stay

They then offered us another room, and we appreciate the arrangement. That said, it was very tiring to move to another room late at night after we had already unpacked our luggage

Fabulous accommodation located in Kata beach. We stayed a week and couldn't have felt more relaxed and comfortable. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist Bam who had drinks and cold towels ready for us at 7

The first room assigned to us had a very strong and strange smell. It was unbearable — like a strong chemical smell after renovation, very irritating

Located on Kata Beach Second Road, it's a bit of a walk to the beach, but the hotel service is excellent, there are plenty of dining options nearby, and the ground-floor rooms have direct pool access! It's also not far to walk to the Cliff Cafe!

Great location, and it's pretty quiet at night. The night market and beach are conveniently close. However, there was a moldy smell in the room. The pool was nice, but breakfast was just okay.

We had a very pleasent vacation in Wekata Luxury. Thanks to the receptionists for everything. Very kinde employes.
