Best Hotels in Kata

This hotel seems to be quite controversial, but my two or three stays here have all been pretty good. The room was a bit damp, though. There's a new development across the street with lots of water activities for kids.

The facilities and amenities were excellent, and the air conditioning was promptly fixed when it broke down in the middle of the night. The room we were given faced the beach directly, and the breakfast was superb

There was Thai rice vermicelli among the hot food, which was good enough. The hotel is massive, with at least five or six pools. I only used the one in front of my room, which was great and very convenient

However, several friends and family members who stayed here a few years ago all had positive things to say, so I ultimately chose this hotel. My actual experience was better and more consistent than expected

There was a faint pleasant scent upon entering, which shows the hotel puts extra effort into air quality management. Phuket's climate is inherently humid, so a slight feeling of dampness is normal

The front desk staff were friendly and patient; I didn't encounter any of the attitude problems mentioned in other reviews. The room itself didn't have any noticeable dampness or musty smells

Cleanliness in the room on arrival wasn’t the best, there were marks in the bathroom and what looked like mould on the sink. There were plates outside the room when we arrived also that stayed there for days

The family room on the seventh floor was generally good. It wasn't damp, had a nice view, and the overall cleanliness was decent, though a few small bugs are to be expected in a tropical region

The resort environment is pretty good. I was a bit worried at first because I saw a lot of negative reviews, but after checking in, the air conditioning wasn't cooling well on the first night

The soundproofing is excellent; even though there's a kids' pool and water slide right outside, there's no noise, it's very quiet. The breakfast selection is incredibly rich

The only downside was that the bunk beds got quite hot in the late afternoon sun. Overall, it's a very good value-for-money family hotel

Cons: The downsides were pretty obvious. The room had an unpleasant odor, and the cleanliness was just so-so – we even found ants 🐜. As for breakfast, it was standard, nothing particularly good or bad

It's about a 15-minute walk to the street with cafes, but the uphill walk back to the hotel isn't comfortable. Taxis won't take you for 100 baht; you have to offer 200 baht for them to agree

An older hotel with an excellent location, close to both Kata and Karon. However, the linens were subpar, and the water quality was terrible. I'd recommend bringing your own filter shower head.

Check-in was also an issue; they were slow. We arrived at 12 PM but only got into our room at 2:30 PM. And the room wasn't cheap; we paid 13,000 rubles per night. We stayed during peak season, January 2026

The breakfasts are repetitive; there's nothing 'wow. ' The fruit selection is poor, but they do offer European bread, which isn't common in other hotels

Soap is only available as liquid, and each person gets only two towels, which are worn out and not pure white. The mattress is saggy and soft

Water pressure is weak, making it hard to wash long hair, and no conditioner is provided. On top of all that, the hotel is located on a hill

Stand type motel room but kept very clean and tidy, staff were friendly and very helpful. Had an all you can eat breakfast included, which catered for all tastes. Overall had a relaxing time. Good value for the price

The hotel's location is good, within walking distance to Kata Beach, and there are many foreign residents around

The hotel breakfast is average; I've been to Phuket many times, and for this price range, this hotel's breakfast is the worst, though it's still edible. The hotel's environment and hygiene are good, very clean

Traveling solo, I'd really recommend this hotel. Even though the facilities are a bit old, the environment is nice and the room is very spacious. I suggest everyone book their rooms through Trip

The floor-to-ceiling windows are also very comfortable. The hotel charges 249 Thai Baht per day for children's breakfast. A deposit is required upon check-in

Friendly staff with good facilities. Provides beach/pool towels for your use and conveniently located at Kata area. Don’t provide toothbrush and toothpaste but you can buy them at the 7/11 nearby

The staff named Wee (not sure if I got the name right) was very kind and took good care of my baby. She was lovely and my baby enjoyed it so much

The staff is very polite and ofcourse very well spoken English by all of them. Apologies in advance, I'm not a very good photographer

This was a nice hotel. A little off the Main Street so it is quiet.  The hotel provides a short ride to the Main Street (very convenient.). Breakfast buffet is pretty good. Would stay again.

It is marvellous that buggy service provided on request between lobby to main street. I can walk 10 minutes from main street to beach for surfing. Hotel have gentle and helpful staff. Hotel have lovely swimming pool

We will come back again! The only small issue was there was some sand in front of the door and on the table. Even after cleaning, it still appeared, and I’m not sure where it came from

We had reserved two connecting rooms, but we were pleasantly surprised and delighted to receive an upgrade to a spacious suite with three rooms and three bathrooms for our family

The breakfast was delicious and varied daily, and the location was convenient. The towel service by the pool was excellent, and the front desk staff spoke Chinese, which made traveling with parents and children very easy

Some of the highly-rated restaurants on Dazhong Dianping might have gotten their ratings through soliciting reviews. The pizza in the annex building was excellent, and the kids' pizza-making class was a lot of fun

Excellent location: 7-Eleven and the night market are right across the street, and it's only 150 meters from the beach. The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly

The only downside is that the room is a bit small, but you can ask the front desk to set up the sofa bed! Overall, it's very good

The rooms, dining, and pool were all great, and the pool's back exit leads directly to the beach. They even had movie nights, and I participated in a cardio session on the lawn with other guests

The hotel's pool is very clean, and they provide unlimited beach towels. There are rinse-off facilities at the back entrance to the beach

Super near to beach, within 5 minutes walking. Surrounded by famous restaurant and 7-11. Staff service is excellent. The only comment is breakfast variety is not much, can consider exclude breakfast.

However , the house keeping were good but they could do better cause you have to call them always to come to your room , otherwise , they will not!! Overall everything was perfect and i recommend this hotel to anyone wants to stay at Kata !!

The breakfast was fine and good , also the lunch and the boufet we had was also good. The stuff were very very friendly and cooperative and they served us gently

It's a 3 min walk to Kata Beach and some of the best food in the area, restaurants and hawker food available within a 2 to 5 min walk. Thank you for an amazing stay

There is a shuttle bus but you need to be there at the right time. The location otherwise is good, being very close to Kata beach and lots of shops/night market

We want to say Thank you to all the staff: at reception desk, the restaurant and bar staff, waiters and waitresses, the room maids all of whom expressed genuine attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy, always asking if we had a good day and always helpful

We had an overall very good stay at Novotel Kata Avista. There was one unpleasant incident during our stay which I prefer not to detail here, as it was handled professionally and elegantly by the reception team

A lot of the furniture is cheap, hollow and outdated. Things are awkwardly placed as well e. to open the curtains you need to undo the curtain tie which is right below the ceiling lamp and I banged my head on it

The room is large and had a great sea view with some nice sunsets. However, the sound proofing is awful. There was a lot of noise coming from both the lobby and the pool area. The rooms really need a refurb

Unfortunately this was a common theme. We noticed a pool table in the lobby and I was excited to have a few games. The pool cues are broken, the table is awful and all the balls just end up at the sides

The price of this hotel varies greatly between the off-season and peak season, but the hotel facilities are truly excellent. The rooms are laid out with a separate kitchen, living room, and bedroom

A very nice serviced apartment, very comfortable, with an excellent location. There's a 7-Eleven, restaurants, and a pedestrian street nearby, all within walking distance.

The hotel itself has three swimming pools, and the reception hall is very spacious. The breakfast in the morning is also quite good. The location is also very convenient

So so nice the place really have great location. Lot of good food and restaurants. Breakfast so so good also i love it. Have a great great hospitality there. Have a big swimming pool and kids play

I'm very satisfied with the room; it has three bathrooms and three balconies. The location is great, with a 7-Eleven, restaurants, a pharmacy, and a pedestrian street all downstairs, making life very convenient

Recommended for staying near Kata beach! Very nice people working there. Room is clean and bed is huge, with an awesome view of the beac. Lots of stairs but nice workout ;)

For us it was the best choice to stay in Orchidacea Resort hotel. We really value waking up to beautiful views and amazing service

Only thing is that there is no elevator so you have to climb a lot of stairs to get to the top. But there's a small car to bring you up with your luggage and whenever you don't feel like climbing up yourself

My Daughter and I stayed here for 6 nights and loved every mintue, ideal location although it does have steps up to reception and to the rooms but there is a services to be taken to your room via an vehicle

We did have a thai massage are the hotel which was just what we needed, a little different from massages in the UK but definitely did the trick and would go back again

Bathroom was like a spa bathroom, with massive bath, shower and lovely vanity. The pool is amazing and everything was very clean. Breakfast was good, your usual Thailand breakfast with a mix of western and thai options

This place is located on the main road in Kata. The rooms and swimming pool are well maintained. The breakfast buffet was decent as well. Overall, it’s a good place to stay.

Good place for a vacation. Laid back, close to the beach, a lot of food optins and massage parlours in walking range. Clean pools, not too deep, maximum level 1.2 m.

If something is finished, there is no refill. Specially this one who puts a lot of make up on. I speak Thai but she didn’t realize I do. The other one leaves me standing talking to her and goes to pick her grab order

3/5 The hotel has two pools, they are clean and well-maintained, but the pool bar has been closed for a long time. No entertainment in the hotel. 3/5 Rooms are cleaned every day, even if you don’t want it

When I raised this to the reception, they laughed at it and didnt take it seriously, spent half my vacation crushing milipedes. The breakfast buffet was fine, plenty of options, but again, not a 4-star

One issue is sunbeds, get down to the pool after 9am and towels left out but no one visits all day. Staff try their best to manage this but unfortunately a lot of the hotel residents were very selfish and rude

Great Hotel, great rooms, great food and the staff were fantastic. We stayed on an all exclusive package and have to say the food was excellent with a huge range that was different everyday

The hotel staff were all very nice,very polite and very attentive. The hotel is right on the beach. Rooms are large and cleaned everyday

The hotel was very nice and we had a pleasant stay. The only downside is that we were suppose to stay in a Seaview room, but I can only call the room that we got "partial seaview" at best

However, we were initially placed in a room with a connecting door, and unfortunately the soundproofing between these rooms was very poor. We could hear everything from our neighbours, which made it uncomfortable

His approachability and willingness to find solutions made a real difference to our stay. Tanu at the pool bar was also fantastic. He always had a smile on his face, made us laugh, and consistently went above and beyond

This hotel is perfect for a couples' getaway. The location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk to Kata Beach, and surrounded by plenty of restaurants and convenience stores

Love the location of this hotel as it is situated off the main road, which tends to be rather noisy with many tourists from evening to night. You definitely can have a good night sleep in this hotel

The location is excellent, right in Kata. It's incredibly convenient with everything you need nearby. The room type I specifically requested via email was fantastic

Really nice place to stay if visiting phuket. All the staff members are amazing, everyone very kind and they always made sure everything is ok. The hotel is at a nice location

It was a very pleasant time in this hotel. The staff is super friendly, the room was clean and there was everything we needed including mini-kitchen

The breakfast was good but I would add some hot porridge for children, there were only different kinds of muesli with the cold milk

Beautiful Resort and a great view with excellent customer service

The resort overall was good and well maintained. The topography and layout inside the resort are very nice and give it a pleasant, peaceful vibe. However, the room did not have a window, which was a drawback

The food was good, and there was one Indian staff member at the reception available 24/7, which was helpful. Overall, a decent stay with a few limitations

JM on front desk was really helpful in organising taxi’s and recommended the best scenic restaurant with the best view

The accommodation was clean, roomy, and had a great partial view of the ocean. I received a very wonderful birthday greeting on my bed. They also surprised me with a lovely fruit platter on my birthday for breakfast

Our stay at this hotel was amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive — they truly go above and beyond. Even when we had to check out early, they prepared a breakfast box for us to take on the road

Special mention to the Thai restaurant which serves delicious and instagram-able food and the private chef dinner experience at the Kissing Point which was the highlight of our stay

It was semi-buffet style, and the à la carte items took ages to arrive, same with coffee. They couldn't remember what we ordered and would come back to reconfirm our coffee choice. This happened twice on the same day

Fantastic experience at the shore ! This place is a high end resort that is as close to paradise as you can get for couples

If you're going to see the public beach, there's no point staying at this hotel. Then, in the early morning, there was a mudslide that blocked the suite entrance. We had to walk through mud just to go out for food

The staff really need better training. Environment: The suite we were given had a terrible location; we couldn't see the sunset, only the public beach

I stayed at three hotels in Phuket this trip: a 5500 baht per night pool villa, an 1800 baht local specialty hotel, and the SIS. Personally, I found SIS to be the best value for money and the most satisfying of the three

The slope leading up to the hotel entrance is quite a trek, really works your legs. The private pool in the room was a nice touch, and the open-air restaurant was surprisingly good

The environment and location are both pretty good, very close to Kata town which makes dining convenient. The service is also nice. The hotel breakfast, however, caters more to Western tastes.

We spend 4 nights including New Year Eve. The room was good, but I'd like to highlight the staff. They were very helpful any time we had a request

Pool Access Room The location is convenient, but our stay had several inconveniences. The slope up to the rooms is extremely steep, so we relied on the buggy service (5–10 mins wait each time)

Nice clean hotel, great location, great breakfast. Only negative and it’s a negative to take into account if you have any mobility concerns is the fact that the hotel is built on a hill

We were right up the top which required a mountain climb every time we had to go to the room. On the plus side the view was great from the top

They then offered us another room, and we appreciate the arrangement. That said, it was very tiring to move to another room late at night after we had already unpacked our luggage

Fabulous accommodation located in Kata beach. We stayed a week and couldn't have felt more relaxed and comfortable. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist Bam who had drinks and cold towels ready for us at 7

The first room assigned to us had a very strong and strange smell. It was unbearable — like a strong chemical smell after renovation, very irritating

Arrived on a Buddhist holiday, hence they gave voucher to use welcome drink at their bar/restaurant on the couple of days later. Staff explained hotel amenities and bfast place

The staff said they would use an air circulation machine and that it would take about four hours. We could not stay in the room during that time. However, when we returned, the smell was still there

The bed wasn’t comfortable , instead of getting a one bed I’ve got two joined together and as the mattress was suuuuuper thin as well as all blankets and pillows , I could fill the edges of two beds or my foot was stuck in between

Though I must say that the stuff was very helpful and fixed all the issues with the AC etc but still when you are on holiday it’s not what you want to be bothered about , just relax and not to worry about the smell or noise
